  • I wanted to show you things that Russian parents say to their kids. All of those phrases I heard not once and not twice. Those things parents say A LOT!!!! Sometimes they are frustrating and annoying, but that just the culture type of thing. I am pretty sure, I will say those things to my kids some day. Like: "When I eat, I'm deaf and mute" or "I want the change back" and etc:)

      Alkhazred1 hey, Russian children usually say this too, but mostly as a joke. I don't know much about Ukrainians, but that's a stereotype that in Russia everyone is cold and unfriendly. There are many nice people, especially in southern towns like mine :D

      You know what some days it's chicken and some days it's a turkey. I guess depends on how Mom feels right LOL! I am actually currently residing with my Russian mother for the time being it's already been a whole fun adventure of sayings. Her favorite Russian saying is one that really demonstrates the artfulness of the language.
      It goes:
      "Вот, эти гуси- свиньи! растоптали целый огород как кони!"
      Translation, roughly: "these geese-they're such swine! Trampled my whole garden down like a stampede of horses' hooves!" 😆

      While thank you very much is Spasibo bol'shoy! or bol'shoye. They sometimes say Spasi not Spasibo.
      Good bye is Do svidanya!

      And try and keep the words flowing and not break it up
      Example : Cabaka - (dog)
      How Russians say it: Cabaka
      How people learning Russian say it : Ca-ba-ka
      And we don't say it all in one tone like normally we say cabaka - baka is higher

    hahaha so true. I'm actually from Ukraine but my Ukrainian parents said the same stuff. Especially my grandma :D But instead of "jump off the roof" she normally said "If all people get a rope and go to hang themselves will you also do that?" :DDD

    Liked and subbed from across the pond in the US! I can relate to this vid as my dad was very stern, but fair, in raising me. This is basically taking me down memory lane lol! Looking forward to more vids, I'm in the process of learning Russian so maybe I'll be able to type in Russian soon!

      мы носим колготки 7-9 месяцев (продолжительность зимы в Якутии)
      а в разгар зимы мы носим балоневые штаны поверх колготок и штанов.
      хорошо однако жить не в Сибири:)
