Try language apps maybe? But be warned. It's a VERY difficult language to learn, especially for non slavic peeps. Best of luck to you!

Yes. Majority of them are. Especially depending on generation they were brought up in. Russian life is hard, so Russian parents had to be tough. Plus that's all they knew from their own upbringing too. My mom tried to be different from her own mom, but she ended up saying alot of this stuff too.
