  • In this video, I am riding from Foumban, to Melong, in Cameroon. Around Melong, I visit the gorgeous Ekom falls, and ride up to Man And Woman lake, on top of a volcano. But the rain keeps on making the journey very hard, and this day is no exception...

Africans born and raised in rural areas are trained to help and support each other. That’s why when we grow up and get an opportunity to travel to the western world for greener pastures, they try to manipulate our belief in humanity to pay or us low pay checks and when we retaliate because we are educated, they consider us stubborn, oh my sweet home Africa 🤦🏽

We cultivate our own food so we rarely go hungry and that to us is wealth. Only when you step out of the rural areas and go into the cities and interact with others that you kinda feel poor but we’re always contented cuz we know some people don’t even have food to eat but we do and it makes you want to work hard to do better for your family

And money isn't the motive. Yes it's appreciated. But that's not the reason. It's love for people and to help each other. It's sad to say a lot of us have forgotten how to live. Two books by naturalist and author Gerald Durrell, published long, long ago in the 1950's, tell of his collecting trip to what was then British Cameroon. Those books are the single reason why today I am a biologist, with many, many years of work and research in Africa. In those days, far behind me now, I was also a motorcyclist, criss-crossing mainly East, North East and Southern Africa on an old Yamaha XT500 and later an early BMW R80GS.
