Quentin Tarantino Wrote Samuel L. Jackson's Role in Pulp Fiction for Him
/ fallontonight - Komedie
Pulp Fiction is one of those movies that'll still be popular in 100 years.
+Nonya Biznnus in 100 years humans wont be able to afford a tv.
+Paulie vids What does that even mean?
+AprimalDwarf Shit's getting expensive man!
+Craig Westenberg Tvs are definitely not expensive. The market for them is so competitive the non-sale price of Tvs are often a price that is at a loss for a store.
+Nonya Biznnus And at the end he said "Yeah, it's so yeah!" XD
He's still a badass 20 years after Pulp Fiction.
swift cobra You win this one.
swift cobra I always have one. It's in my name.
Alright.
swift cobra
swift cobra k im taking notes
Really? Wooow! Yeah! Oh, yeah, that's so yeah!
They should really update Jimmy's conversation software.
You forgot the fake laugh.
'Really? Woooow! Hahahaaaa! Oh is that right? Woooow! Hahahaha! Gosshhh! Yeah man. Oh yeah. HahahaaaAAAA!!! Woooow! Absolutely. HahahaHAHAHA!'
+Mineav He's terrible, even the guests get annoyed sometimes
Luis Lara
I would slap the shit out of him if I was ever on his show.
Or just shut him down and replace with a newer model.
@@LouJNT I second that. When he made that awkward joke about being in the Hateful Ten, you could hear a handful of people semi chuckle. No alternate universe would ever pair the loud buffonery of Jimmy Fallon with the subtle genius of Quentin Tarantino. It would be a crime against my sight, my hearing and the cinematic arts.
It's hard to dislike Jackson in any role he's in. The guys a legend
Hes been in some stinkers
@@bwaters735 NAME # ?
@@B_baldy well we hate the Stephen character but we don't hate Samuel L Jackson.
*Samuel L Jackson goes into a talkshow to talk about Kingsman.*
*Within 1 minute they switch the conversation to Quentin Tarantino"
Tarantino is young(51) he should keep making movies, Martin Scorsese is 72 and he's still directing..
I saw an Interview with him and he said he never wants to make a bad movie and he noticed that the older directors get they can never tell if they're movies are good or bad.and if they are bad they won't accept it or something along that line.
master123214 agreed, scorseses one of the greatest of all time and even hes not a patch on what he was in his prime
***** he was definitely an exception... But past couple of films his let go. No one even watched j edgar even though it had dicaprio in full force. Point being your last movies are never your best and are usually the worst (unless its a case of premature death or do like one movie every 10 years)
Nathan Masters He isnt. He plans on retiring after his 10th movie when he turns 60. We still have two more, plus Quentin might just be saying that just to talk a big game.
***** anything after gran torino?
It's gonna be a sad day when Tarantino retires.
TheSubberBoy i don't think he will. probably he'll take a break for a few years and come back with another awesome movie with a 90 year old SLJ :)
TheSubberBoy movie making is in his blood
to retire is to die...
still want that kill bill vol III
Actually, would be kinda cool if Quentin last movie would have Samuel in the lead as his last role.
Were almost there
*guest* "I-"
*Fallon* "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"
I feel your rage
DoubleDuck say rage again.
He's so fucking fake
I wonder if he suffers from depression.
Audience: "WOOOOOOHHHH!!!!"
So glad they made The Hateful Eight despite the script leak. Gorgeous movie.
great movie
Oh yeah, kept me watching and the ending was so damn good. That's reality, everyone should do the same and have the same reaction.
rachelysew it was originally going to be a sequel to django.
Is he death at the end?
Lalboi Manlun everyone dies in this movie
Kingsman suits are wonderful. I went to Huntsman where they make it, they always require you to wear with one button rather than two no matter what kind of jacket
+Luca Munro It's an unwritten rule of tailoring to never button your bottom button.
+Jerzy Bondov Yep. I myself would always wear a two button single breasted suit with the top button fastened, and for a double breasted I'd have it where the breast pocket's side overlaps the other with one button fastened. That's my preference
Jerzy Bondov I always go with the top button because that's how the guys in the Kingsman film wore it. Next time I'm at Huntsman, I'll try it
FromCrownToKingdom I guess you dont like Fallon then huh?
I love you, Tarantino.
I love this man, true legend of the movie industry, can't wait to see Hateful Eight!
+D to The Main Bro!! The film is out!!! You need to see it before you die.
okeyxyz I watched it two nights ago, its brilliant!

Lol I was waiting for Sam to finish his sentence but Jimmy kept talking about Hateful 9 and 10
agreed
ikr I'm like 'why is Jimmy taking about himself in the middle of an interview'... still a rookie, lol
Yeah exactly he was about to say something about QT's 10 movies pledge and Fallon just fucked it up.
Is it just me, or does Samuel L. Jackson look like Hugo Strange, from AC?
It's not you.
Hell, if they made an Arkham City movie, he would be my pick as Hugo Strange....
TerraApex thank you for that, now i have to start a petition to get him the role
Star Lord Goddamn, I can't believe I just talked about this and then I saw your comment rofl
Squad is going to have Hugo in it. So guess ;Mr Jackson ain't coming to dc
You can tell Samuel L. Jackson just loves being an actor
I love Samuel Jackson as an actor.
A friend of mine had dinner with him years ago. He was like, Damn, Harrison Ford is so dry
Tarantino, Scorsese and Nolan are the GOATs of making films, each in their own field.
Coen brothers and Edgar Wright too
Back when he appeared in Jurassic Park and I didn't know who he was I still remember his line, "I hate this hacker shit". Back when hackers were just playing pranks and not ransoming your hard drive.
Kubrick
Tarantino, Fincher, Nolan and Scorsese.
@@prateekchakraborty7758great mount rushmore, Spielberg should be there too
Pulp Fiction is a masterpiece. While Samuel and Quentin are legends
They’re legends for JACKIE BROWN
You think Quintin calls up Samuel and says hey you want buy another house
For those of you who don't know Samuel L. Jackson was here to promote the film Kingsman: The Secret Service. Unfortunately they didn't upload the segment where they spoke about it. The film isn't getting a lot of promotion and its a real shame they didn't upload that part of the interview. It was directed by Matthew Vaughn who directed X-men: First Class and Kick-Ass. The movie has great scores on both IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. Please go out and see it you won't regret it.
it looks so fucking awsome but its not playing here in Norwat atm :(
I think SLJ wanted to talk about Kingsman but Jimmy totally blew him off
You know these interviews are partially scripted. They have a pretty good idea of what's going to be talked about.
Christopher Simmons but it still looked like he wanted to talk about kingsman but jimmy quickly changed the subject.
Jesse Ventura Again, partially scripted. There's only so much time they can really talk at all. His JOB (and I don't really think he's a great interviewer in terms of being authentic anyway) is to keep people on the track of the show. He takes orders from his Executive Producer, do not be fooled into thinking he's "the boss". He's just the host, and has a lot of "boss" abilities, but at the end of the day he is asking his ExePro if they have time, if they can do this or that, etc. Anytime he looks off stage, that's who he is looking to.
voteZDLR ohhh you learn something new everyday
Jesse Ventura Yup, my buddy works on the Tonight Show, so between that and my own picking information up over the years (I am sort of a Late Night TV nerd) I have learned a lot of insightful things about the way these shows are actually run.
Officer Tenpenny...
One of the best actors if our time and that suit and glasses are so damn fresh!
Jimmy Fallon: "sooo Hateful Nine?"
Samuel L Jackson: **thinking about literally everyone dying in the movie** "I...don't think so"
Haven't watched it yet 😑

You idiot, that was Will Smith !!

Tarantino actually wrote the part for Laurence Fishburne, he's said so himself
💯
Fishburne was holding out during negotiations for the part on Die Hard while the same time in Cannes, Pulp fiction was debuting. The producers overheard that Sam Jackson was gonna play, they flew out to see the film and ended up pulling the offer on Fishburne and inevitably gave the role to Mr. Jackson!
Jon L
News reporters: WhAtS tHe dIfFrEnCe
Exactly. Lawrence lost out to Sam for Die Hard 3 too. Sam probably would’ve got the Morpheus role If Fishburne accepted those roles 🤣
Thank you!
Quentin Tarantino actually said he wrote the character Jules for Lawrence Fishburn.
Jules*
So you think you know better than Samuel L. Jackson? Yeah right.
@@damienx0xyeah I do you idiot.

He was SO good in the matrix!
Bahahahaha get your facts right man
He was even better in boys in the hood
He killed me in White Chicks !
He should have won an Oscar for his role in Driving Ms. Daisy.
chris jung Sam was perfect in that role
I truly believe he's one of the all time greats. so many classic movies and scenes and lines.

He wrote it for Laurence fishbourne WORD
Hahhah I wonder how many will get that reference.
I want a Kingsman suit. But bulletproof.
why do you need a bulletproof suit..you look like you don't ever go out of your moms basement

I think he looks a lot like Samuel L. Jackson.
Oh, wait...
Turn it upside down and you have Morgan Freeman. He looks more like Nick Fury to me though anyway
Can't wait for Hateful 8!
I love Laurence Fishburne, he's always in a good mood.
I AM NOT LAWRENCE FISHBURNE!!
Love Samuel L Jackson in Pulp Fiction, just fucking brilliant,
When I saw pulp fiction for the first time I was blown away . Pulp fiction is one of the most iconic movies of all time imo.
Fallon is like a trained seal laughing a clapping for fish😂👏🏻 🐟🐟
His most bad ass role ever has got to be in that greatest action adventure movie of the 90's, Jurassic Park.

Tina Ho How can you even say Jules was a terrible character? Blasphemy in the name of Tarantino!

So true...the only thing I don't like is this laugh
Dr Donkeypunch So it's a Challenge between you and him wtf ?!
demofa batarfi
And guess what, im winning everytime xD
You have the most bad grammar ever.
The premise of this movie sounds like the most intense and exciting plot of any movie since No Country For Old Men.
Jimmy Fallon always struck me as guy who really wanted to lead a gameshow, but ended up with a talkshow instead, somehow.
I wish I will age that well in my mid 60s. This man is so cool and full of energy.
He should've won the Supporting Actor Oscar for Pulp Fiction, no doubt about it. Still can't get over that.
Stephen Carroll nah fam.
And I
Don't kid yourself. The only reason Martin Landau won was because he was playing a famous actor in a film about an era of filmmaking history. The Academy eats that up
Stephen Carroll My mistake, I wrongfully remembered it as being the 94 awards. You're right about that last part too, though I still would have given it to Turturro (who was snubbed) over Jackson.
And I
I mean damn Turturro should have a couple Oscars by now
Stephen Carroll Preach
For those wondering, Jackson auditioned for Mr. Orange which was magnificently played by Tim Roth.
He auditioned for the blank police guy, not Mr Orange
So, Hateful Eight will basically be Reservoir Dogs in wild west ?
TKFF It was
lol what?
spot on.
those two are some of ymy favourites.
i notice new shit in them every time i rewatch
Jimmy is the best talk show host !!! Anybody just easily opens up and lots of possitivityvityvity!!!
I feel like a lot of these interviews are preplanned, but this one felt really natural. I like it when they do that!
10 Movies? I hope Not...He's one of the greatest directors of all time!
Imagine not getting the role for a movie and the director saying they’re writing a role just for you, and then you getting the script and find out that role is Julius. The ultimate compliment
'Movie would have been much better with me in it.' CLASSIC!!! I love Mr. Jackson. He is an amazing human being and even more amazing actor.
Thank you for dedicating your life to the art of film for our entertainment!
This is not true tho lol. The role was written for Laurence Fishburne, Tarantino even confirmed it in an interview recently.
um, i don't think i ever heard SLJ say "uh" or "um" once during the interview, which is fucking unreal
+liquidpersuasion 00:08
+Bertram Dinesen It wasnt an Uh he was saying opportunity but it sounded like uhpportunity
Still not convinced but i see your point :D
I watched pulp fiction for the 1st time the year 3002. What a classic👽
Say what again! Say what one more time. :) Classic!
Hateful Eight was amazing
I cant wait for the movie, its gonna awesome!! Oh and Sam is cool as fuck!!
You aint never lie
when does the movie come out ?
I really like his approach, that he didn’t take not getting the part personally, and understood that he didn’t get it in service of the film. It paid off, considering how many great parts he got from Tarantino since.
That statement Sam made at 1:48 is so true! I’m 16 and I just watched PF for the first time yesterday.
He's 67 years old here. Who the HELL looks this good when they're 67 xD ?
does Jimmy say "nigga" at 2:16?
lol no
yes, he does.
Terrific actor bro pure terrific, full of energy... Pulp fiction is a new movie everytime I watch it.
The situation he describes is so accurate to my when i discovered the movie with 14 and got in tarantino films than in scorsese and all the other classics this film changed my life not gonna lie
to have a part specifically written for you by Tarantino...
He wrote the part of Lawrence Fishbourne who refused because he only wanted to focus on lead roles.Quentin said this in an interview where he was reuinted with the production staff for pulp fiction in 2014.
The description of the hateful eight is on point.
That last elevator pitch was just something else 😂😂😂
I'll never know why people don't like Death Proof. First of all, it's part of Grindhouse, so it should be watched as a double feature right after Planet Terror. Secondly, it's a double genre movie itself. First half it's a 70's slasher film, second half it's car chase ozploitation. I love Grindhouse!
Jimmy kinda panders and changes his accent when he interviews SLJ. Anyone else notice that?
He does that with everyone. The comments section of these videos are filled with comments similar to yours
+Daniel Lerch i don't like jimmy fallon, but "adapting to people around you" is normal, in my opinion. the only people i notice that don't only have 1 dimensional friendships.
+Gábor Nagy if I'm in the hood I don't put on an urban accent. If I'm eating at a Mexican restaurant I don't put on a Latino accent. I see it as pandering and poor social skills.
Sam Jack has an imposing personality.
+Daniel Lerch Completely agree with you. A lot of people seem to do this instead of being their selves. I don't get why but it's unnecessary and irritating
Straordinario....magic....
Saw Tarantino at Brown Dogs in Telluride! That guy has the loudest laugh ever, but he looked like he was having fun. Good on him for making another great film in a great town.

I'd love to see Tarantino make a horror film
Well the closest thing he came to it was From Dusk Til Dawn
Yeah, but under Tarantino's direction.
Dud that's bad cause black ppl die first in a horore film
Death Proof was sort of a horror movie..
ztoker Yeah. Tarantiono even described Death Proof as "a horror movie where the serial killer uses a car instead of a knife", when he was still making it.
But I would say only the first half is horror movie-ish. The rest is like a weird exploitation/revenge flick. Still a good movie though. I was just expecting something different when I seen it.
his role in this movie was nothing but spectacular such a great actor of our time :)
Pulp Fiction may not be my favorite movie in absolute terms, but surely the one i can watch countless times and enjoy every time.
Jimmy Fallon is a talented guy, he sings and acts and all... But he is a terrible interviewer. His interviews always suck. It doesn't matter if the guest is good or bad, he always ends up ruining everything. Come on, man, you can do better than that. And please, for the love of God, stop forcing laughter. It's sickening.
