I really liked Kurt Russell in this film
that moustache was epic
Especially when he destroys an expensive antique guitar thinking it was a prop.
He was a believable bounty Hunter
Kurt Russell is the coolest. Glad Tarantino put him in his movies.
@@rightyouareken7587 he's done some classic John Carpenter movies. Now hes making classic Quentin Tarantino movies. It's great to see, and hopefully he's in QT's "final" film.
Kurt Russell's hair is perfection. Like David Lynch.
I've always said and still maintain, that -- H8tful Eight is better than people realize. Kurt Russell has it right, imho. It's ahead of its time for a QT movie. It's honestly probably my favorite. Maybe a (very) close second.
The hateful eight is a fantastic film, as entertaining as death proof. I love them. I always have a great time watching the movies.
Kurt Russel called it. H8 is indeed #3 in my list of QT films ranked.
it's my favourite too. when I heard that he is going to make another western after Django, I was kinda disappointed, cos western is not really my type, but luckily for me, H8 is not a western at all, it's more like an Agatha Christie novel, but on "ultra violence" mode and foul language. the perfect storm (pun intended)
@@MalfeasanceQ I was actually typing a comment about how this went from dead last on my list, to probably #3.. 5 seconds later Kurt Russell said "I think it'll be #3".. can't help but laugh at that.
I think #1 and #2 are different for everyone though
I love this film, wouldn't be my favourite, his early films are hard to beat for me. But it's very difficult to order the films in the later half of his career. They're all so good!
When this level of talent gets together to make a movie along with the writer is really something magical. They become instantly classic films that will last a very long time.
Best thing that happened in that film was the perfect casting .. including JJL.. as Daisy.. she made that part hers...
When I saw Reservoir Dogs for the first time as a kid, I thought, “finally.” I needed QT movies in my life. I needed a guy movie that I hid from my parents. A pulpy gangster film for my generation to call their own. We desperately needed one. A film that is different, yet feels like a classic. All of his movies I saw after that have been blessings. I love each of them.
even death proof?
I love you, Tarantino.

I love you for loving Tarantino
@@Naji_1 he wrote on every video!

Respect to Kurt for saying ‘third,’ and not some marketing answer like ‘this is the best one, come see it.’ All of the Tarantino movies are masterpieces, and ranking third amongst them puts it leagues above other movies. And for what it’s worth I think he’s right; third and fourth are a toss up with Eight and Bastards.
I am incredibly grateful to watch what this director and his team create.
The Hateful Eight is already one of Tarantino's best in my view...
Absolutely Ive seen it 5 times already and it never gets old, a true masterpiece.
It’s up there for sure
That man made me laugh at a fucking door. I fucking love Tarantino.
1. kill bill
2. resevoir dogs
3. pulp fiction
4. death proof
5. jackie brown
6. django unchained
7. hateful 8
8. Once upon a time
imo
One of my fav. Movies too😊
Just finished watching this film , both of these guys were spot on .
One quality of the films that attract me, and I believe is purposeful, is the feeling that you are watching a reel-to-reel projected movie. The making of a classically filmed modern movie. The scenes seem to be random arenas for the characters to actually act out the dialogue. This view also credits the actors capabilities. I know very little about film in general but QT films give you reason to ask what made that so interesting.
Interesting discussions is like the bread and butter in Tarantino movies I feel it is always those parts I remember the most.
Hateful Eight has a ton of good dialogue. Better than Pulp Fiction or the Kill Bill lineup, or Inglorious Basterds. The dialogue and the PERIOD dialogue (being civil war era) was super good.
Two of my favorites 💯
Tarantino’s formula is recreate with a twist as a backdrop, with amazing lines and scenes
‘That seems like an oversimplification’
Great movie brilliant acting in particular Kurt Russell
This was a great question good job interviewer
Generally like most things we do, we get better at it with time. When it comes to natural talent with decades of experience, you get great work, and it is marvelous. Great interview, Thank you.
H8ful eight was one of his best movies.
For me, it's at number four - behind Inglourious Basterds, Pulp Fiction & Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
It's at 3 for me behind Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill Vol. 1. If True Romance can be counted as a Tarrantino movie I'd put that one in the place of Kill Bill and then Hateful would be 4. I think Inglorious and Django are overrated. The first has too much drama for my taste and the latter is a bit uncomfortable for me.
@Fly Beep I found Pulp Fiction overrated, I preferred Django and Inglorious Basterds
Interesting, I pretty much disagree entirely though.
My list would probably be:
1. kill bill
2. resevoir dogs
3. pulp fiction
4. death proof
5. jackie brown
6. django unchained
7. hateful 8
8. Once upon a time
9. inglorious basterds
but it's really close between them all
Once upon a time is distinctly average.
Pulp fiction is a masterpiece.
The rest are somewhere in between.
@@yourmum69_420 wow you are the first person i've known to rank IB last. I mean, this may just be his masterpiece.
It would never even occur to me to stream or download a new QT film. Thats what he does.
tritone11 right, I rather own it on blue ray
I always watch a tarantino film through legit means. I cant risk losing my internet connection while listening to moments like Warrens dingus story!
It would never even occur to me to stream or download capt marvel
It's such a good movie! I know my first two picks are solid and they won't change (Reservoir Dogs & Pulp Fiction). I will say differently top 5, no doubts!
Jack Burton = Legend
And the pork chop express!!! Lol
Loved this Movie. Watched it a few times already. Gonna watch it again
Any Quentin Tarantino movie is yep a work of art ....
2 of my favorite actor's
Hateful Eight is a masterpiece 👍🏻
Tarantino & Ritchie ...best dialogue writers!
Translation (KR did not want to say this out loud): QT respects great actors of old, therefore, all the actors he chooses to put in his films, are the best of this generation, and me and guy sitting next to me are two of them.
Should have asked Kurt Russell what the first two are? :P
pulp fiction and something else?
Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained
Alex Jbf well pulp fiction is number 1 for sure.
1. Pulp Fiction
2. Resevoir Dogs
3. The Hateful EIght
4. Inglourious Basterds
5. Django
6 Death Proof
7. Kill Bill (1 & 2)
Dude...... Dude.....
your name is bill killer.... and you place kill bill after death proof?
I don't know what Tarantino's worst film is...but it is better than 99.9% of movies ever made
Death Proof, and I disagree. But the rest are amazing though.
@@christopher399 nah. Death proof is fucking fire lol. Zoë Bell Traci, and Rosario. Pshhh
@@FilmBoBaggins211 I disagree, and it didn't do too well either, so I'm not the only one who feels this way.
But overall, he has a great filmography! I don't think he needs to retire to preserve his filmography. I have a feeling he's in a similar vein as Martin Scorsese, where he is in his 80's and still makes amazing films, and whenever he does a new film, it's an event. I think Tarantino could be like that.
They are literally all great, if you're someone to love movies based on what a whole group of people say, then shit dude. Death proof is by far am amazing film and isn't at least in my opinion his worst. He doesn't really have a worst. But again that's all opinion. But I don't go off what RT says or IMDB or whatever. Idk man
Kurt Russel sort of looks like Bill Murray in this clip
No. No he doesn’t.
@@agentred8732 yes he does, you have no imagination that's all
My only issue and that was solved later after the movie release is that its too fucking long for a movie. The fact of the matter that it was originally around 6 hours is insane.
-Pulp Fiction
-Inglourious Bastards
-Hateful Eight
-Django
-Reservoir Dogs
-Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
-Jackie Brown
-Kill Bill
-Kill Bill v2
-Death Proof.
True Romance.
my list is almost yours backwards lol
OK so they 11 films, not 10. Which means they think one of his films would be in two parts. And the only thing hes shot in two parts is Kill Bill. SO you could deduce that of his last films, one is unnamed, and one (two?) is the long awaited Kill Bill sequel.
As much of a fan of japanese TV and films as he is, its not surprising at all.
sirdaveysockrocker pretty sure his last movie will be kill bill sequel movie of some sort.
I hope he will make more movies over the years even if he stops for a while
Kill Bill was not shot in two parts. It was shot as one movie.
Pretty obvious that Pulp Fiction is Kurt's #1 but I wonder what he put at #2?
I’m guessing it’s Reservoir Dogs. I’m not a huge fan of that movie, but I believe it was quite influential and that many elements and scenes from it are very much ingrained in our pop culture.
Movies for the rest of us......
Kurt Russell looks like Mrs Doubtfire on the thumbnail !
That hat, that fookin’ hat
What is “non-pc” about The Hateful Eight?
O I'm sure he'll be studied alongside Kubrick, Coppola and Orson Welles, might be more along the lines of "There was a period in cinema history where due to a lack of imagination a series of directors decided that they would do it all, produce, direct, write, etc... and in that era we got a series of films that were basically the result of a formula where the current film was the same as the previous film and as the film made 4 years prior and so on...."
And SLJ said that IN 2016.
☑️✅
I love Kurt Russell. One of my favorite actors. I'm not saying he's getting old or looking like an old lady........but.......He is starting to look like Caitlyn Jenners mom.
I love Tanantino. He's making interesting films, just like the rest of the world, like Hollywood isn't.
1:00-1:06, this. I don't want to watch an actor reading the script, I want to be a guy who stands next to the two "characters" who having a talk. In my opinion, superhero genere movies killed cinema back at 2010 and it might never return.
Kurt Russell best actor on it
You know Samuel is thinking, "no. 3?? mutha fucka you crazy", and he would be right 😄
1. Pulp Fiction
2. Reservoir Dogs
3. Hateful Eight
4. Inglorious Basterds
5. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Jackie brown ?
@@x97s not in my top 5
1.Inglorious Basterds
2.Hateful Eight
3.Reservoir Dogs
4.Pulp Fiction
5. Jackie Brown
No one directs them like Tarantino and Scorsese. I will place David Fincher on the 3rd position. Tarantino and Scorsese makes you question your own inner self ,when watching one of their movies. And the dialouge of a Tarantino movie is always, always a Mexican burrito. Tarantino makes everyday stuff sound magical. No one,no one can do that.
I love the part when Kurt Russel punches the girl stating this means SHUT THE FUCK UP, I love Samuel Jackson coming out of character on that part, thinking damn I want that line.
He doesn't punch her or say the f-word but okay.
First, he hits her with his gun: "You open up your trashy mouth again I'll knock out them front teeth for ya, you got it?"
Then he elbows her in the face: "When I elbow you real hard in the face, that means shut up."
@@chase7767 I will have to re watch it again, thanks for pointing that out.
The hateful eight is the best movie ever made... fact
Hateful 8 was good, better than Django and the worst was inglorious basterds. Other Tarantino movies are fairly good.
These interviews are ridiculous. Like they are ever going to say they hate him...
Actually russell should remember death race...freaky but good cheers
So a few words about Quentin Tarantino's movies; his alltime best movie is PULP FICTION as #1 and Reservoir Dogs #2 and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is also very good. PULP FICTION got it all. No movie like it.
The hat. That fucking hat... How many times have I told you? Don't wear that fucking hat here... How many?
I just came here to say WHY DIDN'T OSWALDO AND JOE GAGE KILL JOHN RUTH WHEN HE WAS NAILING THE DOOR SHUT?!?!?!
"Violence is the most fun thing to watch"
"Every one have there own perspective"
"I stole every movie from other movies"
*QUENTIN* *TARENTINO*
It's his dialogue that really sets him apart though any movie can be violent and it would just be a slasher film or something if not for his banter writing talent that shapes the characters.
and that's not a compliment.
This movie is an unmitigated pile of steaming dog shit. "Hate Fellate" indeed.
Why is it I feel that Tarantino very quickly figured out the collective psyche of Hollywood, then designed his films to appeal to their sense of self-image? As in, it's as if things that happen, and even some of the music, is incredibly pretentious and is pointing to itself and saying "Isn't this really cool?" like it should be obvious to everyone, and critics are afraid that if they don't get it, then they AREN'T cool... therefore they fawn over it and say how significant it is...
Seriously- the first film I watched was "Pulp Fiction"- and I quit about 20-30 minutes in. Watched it all later. But- I find myself watching something like "Kill Bill" and there is a scene that NOTHING is happening, and it seems like it drags on and on 2-3 minutes longer than it needed to establish the shot or the event. Then I find myself saying "That music is terrible, and it just won't stop!" That's what makes me think he's laughing at us, saying "This is awful but I'm framing it like it's something cool- and they're afraid to admit they aren't in on it, or don't get it..."
Does any of this make any sense to anyone else? Or is it just me? 🤔 And don't get me wrong- I don't really care if anyone else feels like this, I'm just curious... 🙂
You're totally not getting it, at all. You seem to be totally clueless. I suggest you get around researching how he came around directing and why his style is as it is. See how he made his first feature Reservoir Dogs. Also, take note when he started in the early 1990s they didn't really make movies like he did and in the style he did. Pretentious?? Gtfo.
@@flybeep1661 Oh, you completely missed the point- I don't really give a fuck enough to go to any trouble about it- I was just curious if anyone else felt the same as I do... 🙂
@@shibumi5210 I totally disagree. He makes movies exactly the way he wants them and many people believe them to be masterpieces for genuine reasons. But if it's not your personal cup of tea, that's fine.
I'm also curious: which scene in kill bill are you talking about?
Tarantino, pretentious? His works are as crass and simple as they come. You just don't get him, and it's okay, no need to make up elaborate persecutory "theory" on why you aren't liking Tarantino's stuff, lol.
to me he's in a long spiral downward. first seeing Pulp it unfolded like a new universe. the violence was a cartoon. the period music great and was some of the dialog and irony. Bastards was very good again as a cartoon but Christopher is masterful. he's really in a rut now with just more of the same.
love the actors. hated the movie.
I ADORE READING I ADORE WHITE COLOUR ONLY I ADORE PURENESS ONLY
Kurt Russell is the man!!!! 🐍 Snake 🐍 lol
I can barely even watch this film. I’m not sure why everyone thinks it’s so great.
lol, thats odd because its a movie that draws you in. If had this playing with various type of people around and they gravitate towards it and become somewhat transfixed. There's nothing spectacular about it, its just compelling writing which is what keeps you glued to the TV. I'm talking people who don't care about movies, to those who like movies but can't keep their attention past an hour to an hour and half to those who have a very niche sense of taste and they all somehow were captivated by 3 hour film. But that seems to be the case with most of his movies.
BALMY
a long awful movie. love Kurt and Samuel.
Quentin Tarantino makes great movies but I really didn't like this one, it didn't make sense to me.
why not? there are no plot holes I can think of
@@yourmum69_420 the villains gang can just wait behind the door and then shot Kurt Russell in the head when he open it. Voila, the movie ends and the bad guys win. I still enjoy the film, but that one possibility really bugs me. They can win easily but instead try to play along some bullshit scenario.

Tarantino would do well to broaden his canvas and palette ... over reliance on blood has become boring.
Lmfaoooo
Dude, what about Once Upon a Time in Hollywood? It's near bloodless until the last 15 minutes of the movie. Jackie Brown also doesn't have too much blood. And as far as broadening his palette. Dude has tackled crime & neo noire with Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, modern westerns with Django Unchained and Hateful Eight, blackspoitation with Jackie Brown, modern take on classic kung fu films with Kill Bill 1 & 2 (not to be confused with modern kung-fu films), modern take on classic horror/slasher films with Death Proof, a dark comedy war film with Inglorious Basterds and even Once Upon has elements of westerns and noires. You say broaden his canvas, yet that's exactly what his career has been about. And he was even interested in writing a scifi film (Star Trek) and an action war film (Rambo). I'd put him up there with Scorcese and Speilberg as far as diversified catelog. Only difference is, the other two have the benefit of making something from a script they come across. Which means, they didn't really have to think outside their comfort zone to expand their palette. They just had to be willing to make it. Tarantino has WRITTEN neo-noire, western, slasher, kung-fu, and war films.
Couldn't disagree more, at no point in any of his films is the gore the point, there so well written and acted that it's just a necessary tool for the films to work. The subject matters and genres he has covered overall are far and away some of the most diverse from any director ever
I thought the movie was kinda lame. Definitely not Top 3 like Kurt said.
