Let’s talk about the unique benefits of magnesium glycinate. Magnesium is involved in over 300 different enzymes and comes in a lot of different forms.
Magnesium glycinate is a combination of magnesium and the amino acid glycine. This combination increases absorption in the intestine. Magnesium oxide, sulfate, carbonate, and hydroxide are all poorly absorbed.
Magnesium glycinate is also very gentle on your stomach and is less likely to cause diarrhea, like other forms of magnesium can.
Top benefits of magnesium glycinate:
• It promotes overall relaxation and muscle relaxation
• It supports sleep and may help with insomnia
• It improves energy during the day
• It supports healthy blood pressure
• It regulates calcium
• It reduces the risk of kidney stones
• It increases insulin sensitivity and promotes healthy blood sugar
• It may help with migraines
• It may help with depression and anxiety
• It may help reduce stress
To increase the absorption even more, find a magnesium glycinate supplement that also contains vitamin D3 and vitamin B6.
You can take magnesium glycinate with or without food. The best time to take this form of magnesium is right before bed. However, taking it at other times of the day won’t make you feel tired, just relaxed. Consider taking between 100 mg to 400 mg daily, depending on the severity of the issue.
Taking high amounts of magnesium glycinate over time may lead to slightly lower blood pressure or contribute to diarrhea. Also, keep in mind that magnesium glycinate may interfere with certain medications.
To get more magnesium in your diet, start consuming more leafy green vegetables.

I take an all in one triple complex magnesium which contains malate, glycinate and citrate. Has reduced my heart palpitations by 95%. Truly has made a huge difference.
How are you tracking these percentages?
What's The name of it
Ditch it. Just get magneisum Glycinate. Malate and Citrate are trash forms of Mg
I must say, I started taking a-z pure health citrate and my heart seems steadier than on the 'now' brand powdered glycinate, confused.
Right there with you friend! I took 500mg of magnesium and no heart palpitations they all went away
I would like to see a list of all the supplement brands Dr Berg strongly stands behind so we can all avoid the garbage ones. Thumbs up if you agree 🙏
Yes please!
I have excellent vitamins/supplements recommended by my practitioner they are the best of the best! A few brands are Biotics Research, Standard Process, Food Research, Designs for Health, Klaires Labs etc... I would never use over the counter vitamins/supplements sourced from China as you don't know what you're getting & could cause more harm than good

I take a triple magnesium and 500mg glycine because you talked about all the benefits before. I used to have to take Xanax, Zoloft and Lunesta all at the same time for panic attacks. Now I take none of that crap! Been off them for over four years!!! 🙌🙌🙌
Where did you find triple magnesium please ?
@@christinegarza6516 triple magnesium complex on Amazon.
If only we could convince everyone and get people off all of those nasty drugs. I'm happy for you.
What is triple magnesium?
@@nusans Its a combo of citraat glycine and malaat usually. Nothing more. You can also just take glycine
I appreciate the complete information including the food sources, RDA and what it means for us. Thank you!
Magnesium changed my life. I had debilitating insomnia and anxiety, and would almost always be awake for several days straight with literally 0 minutes of sleep before finally passing out 16+ hours. Desperate, I went to a naturopathic doctor who told me to go on a low histamine diet and supplement with magnesium. Within one month I began sleeping restfully every night, and my anxiety nearly completely disappeared. It’s been several years, and I still take magnesium every day, enjoying these same benefits.
i took chelated magnesium i didnt find any changes in my sleep , still overthinking mode , i think i bought fake one from amazon
Thank you so much for sharing. This is very helpful for me.
@@godgift5676Dr. Berg sells a Mag. Supplement
What kind of magnesium did you use to help you sleep?
That’s great!! What brand of magnesium did you take?
When I go to my Doctor, she just Google’s everything? And I feel she doesn’t even want to talk to me?
Dr Berg is the best Doctor I have, I love this man.

If your Dr goggle everything then we can ask Goggle aswell
Why the question marks after each of your first two sentences? They're statements - not questions.
Glad to hear that Dr Berg. That's the one I have. I'm pretty sure it's because I watched your video on it before. I forgot some of the benefits so I'm glad I watched this one. Thank you!
Always a pleasure listening to you, you keep me well informed thank you
When I take this supplement, I have vivid dreams and getting to sleep is much easier.
I'm working out really hard, 6 days a week and used to get severe cramps in the abdominal muscles. I've been taking Mg Bisglycinate 200mg for 40 days now and indeed no single cramp, no diarrhea, no sleep problems. 100% accurate video from personal experience.
You don't need to work out 6 days a week. Less is more.
ο
@johnryder8464
Depends if you work out different muscles .
Cramps in the abdominal muscles are horrible
Yeah the RDA is completely broken. we actually need insane amounts of magnesium but instead we're getting too much potassium and calcium. Which is how cramps happen. too many contain supporters not enough relaxation supporters. Calcium and magnesium should be about 1:1 potassium should be less. calcium should be supported with phosphorus for storage and vitamin D
You guessed! I have been looking for information about that and here you are the most trustworthy person out there 🎉thanks!
Thank you Dr Berg for the great information.
Magnesium Glycinate cured my anxiety and panic attacks and IBS

So grateful for all this helpful information Dr. Berg. You have contributed a lot to my health.
This advice is "primo". I have personally experienced such an improvement regarding many of the symptoms discussed in this video. Thank you Dr. Berg.....You are a blessing!
Good info. FYI, other source that we find easily in France, is Argile. It's an extract from the ground, it's used for beauty a lot, but as a therapist, i use it for magnesium too. The Green Argile coming from region of Provence in south France. It's a good source to heal all sort of things: gut inflammation, gastritis, antifungal, antidiarrhea, détox, it's full in electrolyte so I use it for fatigue as well, etc. Etc. The Green one is full with absorbable magnesium, but there are several types: red one good for ion decencies, white one for severe diarrhea, etc. Etc. Thank you. Hannature.
Awesome video. Thank you! My doctor just put me on this so this was so helpful.
Thank you Dr Berg, I’m so glad I found your channel to give me ideas on this vitamin, I was kind of confused with all different magnesium.

Doctor Berg you fill a niche so many people appreciate. Wonderful to have this place on youtube with you. Without this space it would be hard to put together all this information on my own when I need it. You are helping me with my young athlete.
What does it mean it it is chelated?
I recently just started taking Magnesium Bisglycinate and it has been wonderful! I sleep so well, better than I used to and my energy levels are always good in the morning.
Me, too. One hour before shutting off the lights. Hugh improvement in sleep
Thank you Dr: Berg
Have a great weekend 🌞
Beautiful! Was trying to figure out which mag to take! TY!
Wonderful topic!! I take both the citrate and the glycinate. I take 800 mg of each with no ill effects. Been taking citrate version for years and years. Once it was in my system, the nocturnal Charley horses subsided. Oxide is the one most available at all the stores though and I don't touch that one.

Very interesting video! Thank you, Dr.!!! I didn't realize there were many forms of Magnesium. Enjoy your day!!! 🙏🕊️👋✌️😊
Good video to watch because we don't realize how rich our ancestor's environment was in magnesium for millions of years we drank for magnesium rich streams, meat from animals that grazed on magnesium rich soils, soil was rich in magnesium for any plants etc this is no longer the case. our soils are long depleted and our rivers long polluted, our water sources purified. there is no way around getting enough magnesium. you have to accept some supplementation on this one imo
Our ancestors died at the age between 30-40 year........
Thank you Dr.BERG
Thank you, Dr. Berg!!!
This is so timely.
Ive been wanting to start on magnesium supplement but i didn't know whis is the best to take.

I bought magnesium glycinate just yesterday after hearing carnivore diet probably deficient in magnesium. Most magnesium citrate had sugar in them, so glad I picked the right one. Definitely saw these benefits immediately. Was able to have a nice bowel movement and slept like a baby the last 2 nights. Thanks again Dr Berg!
Bowel movements are my favorite type of movement. They are just fantastic. Praise the Lord

What was the brand you got ?
People with autism and people who are sensitive to glutamates and other excitotoxins need to be careful with glycine and even magnesium glycinate. Some will have a negative effect with glycine. It agitates them. I learned this from TACA org and from negative comments about glycine on some CZcamss from Chris Masterjohn about glycine Check out your reaction to magnesium glycinate overtime and make sure you are not getting a paradoxical effect. I gav small amounts of glycine as part of a triple magnesium complex to my autistic daughter for a few years. It wasn't until I went to straight mag. glycinate and 2 grams of straight glycine that I saw my daughter very agitated and began the research.
How much dose to be taken and I came to know it's not good for people who blood pressure, is it OK to take it
90 days into carnivore and muscle cramps were killing me. Magnesium Glycinate took them away after one day. I now take it daily with my required water.
Dosage please
@@swetachowdary 1/4 tsp in 28 oz of water, 4X a day. I need a bit of lemon water to kill the Mg taste. Also, the lemon juice fades or the Mg gets stronger if the mixture sits too long, like over night, so I just make it fresh.
Perfect timing of another great video.
I hope that helps!
Dr Berg you are amazing I have problems sleeping and since I started taking my sleep has improved
Bless you
Oddly enough, I just purchased this a few hours ago, for poor sleep, anxiety and foot cramps - then I saw this video afterwards. I'm looking forward to seeing how much it helps. Thank you for this video!
