The key here is authenticity. I feel GMBN in general has never really been able to maintain authenticity. Most videos are scripted, but here listening to Owen being genuinely interested in DH, pits, bikes, riders etc. is great. I know these type of 'off the cuff, interview style' videos are by nature more improv etc and most of the videos on gmbn are planned etc etc. I dunno, I just think people these days crave authenticity over everything. I don't watch gmbn videos anymore but it's what got me into MTB years ago, so I'd like to see gmbn pushing out great content like this! Good job on this one guys. (Maybe also I'm just pumped on world champs so am soaking up all this goodness lol, oh well) ( also loved the Don on commentary).
Also I'm not shitting on any presenter particularly, I think doddy is one of the best 😘

My favourite bikes was the Cotic steel frame, and the rest of the are a very close second.

Great job by Owen. Loved the Pole bike- as a QA guy, I loved the billet aluminum frame. Honestly Im thrilled to see metal bikes coming back but wouldn't say no to any of them.

God damn that mondraker makes me want a dh bike. Forget the adjustability, those lines are incredible... especially compared to that busted looking norco, or 90's throw back v10 haha

Good to see more adjustable geo. That's the main reason I bought a Specialized Stumpjumper Evo. I ride mostly trail but it can handle enduro.

Funny out old styles come back around. Here is an example. We used to ride with big riding glasses. Those went out of style for a smaller lens. Now they are back in style. The high pivot is back, too.

Just watching the DH World Championships from Fort William. Quite a few seem to be losing tyres. Did riders suffer these amount of flats when innertubes were the norm?

For the Shimano riders, why are they seemingly still running previous series Shimano Saint drivetrains and brakes?
So many still use them, and yet Shimano keep releasing newer series brakes & gears, but the fastest riders aren’t using the latest tech in these areas.
Why?
Who cares?
These new bikes are stuffed with ultra high tech and that's fantastic hopefully they can find a way to keep the cost down so the average person can afford one without selling their first born 😮
I'm surprised titanium isn't en vogue for DH, it can be made so compliant, I have more titanium inside me than modern DH bikes!
I have a Be beryllium from the early 2000's even if the geo is outdated it would make a great material this bike is magic, wonder what happened.

The fact that the mondraker riders won't tell you the bike is good tells you all you need to know. Not a fan of mondraker, and if they're saying "to get the bike somewhat comfortable" yeah.... let's hope that doesn't become a production bike, and the welds are so messy!
