- We prepare our boat for the trip to the Bahamas. We update carpets and hardwood floors, install a new toilet, add addition power to our stereo system, and more. Just 10 days to go before the boat moves permanently down south and we try to get as much done as possible.

We moved from Riverside 9 years ago. I miss the Camden and Philly water front. You two are fun to watch and grateful that you share you knowledge and expertise with us. May the winds be calm and the waves few and far between on your journeys.

Well, that was certainly a lot of projects knocked out. Noticed your 'on the bow' neighbor in your winter home is a Maxum 4100 SCA ... same as ours. Don't see too many of them, so that was neat.
They AirBnB that boat. Unfortunately, it never moves.
Nice you can spend the maintenance budget from last year. And while you are in known supportive location you are doing proactive repairs.
I think we already spent that budget and more. Our next video is a haul out, bottom job and stabilizer repair.
We put those carpet tiles down at the last place I worked about 10 years ago. As of two years ago they were holding up very well in a News Room office environment. LOTS of high traffic "corridors" but it showed surprisingly little wear. The wood flooring in the corridor looked very nice, and should be easier to KEEP looking nice.
They are advertised for commercial use, so we think they should hold up well. We haven't had to hose them down yet.
The wood flooring looks great. I also like the carpet you put on the bridge. The new carpet in the cabin looks much better than the black carpet. Great upgrades!

We want to do the rest of the hardwood in Tigerwood as well but we are having a hard time finding it. Covid, I guess. So we are waiting.

Huge comfort and convenience upgrades to the boat like flooring and new toilet... everything you are doing looks great. "Tigerwood," (Astronium/Goncalo Alves/Muiracatiara) is one of my favorite south American wood species... I used to handle those species as an importer. It gets a deep, beautiful dark orange rather quickly... very photo-reactive - a beautiful wood, and fairly hard so will handle wear well.
I didn't hear a single Roger Out in this episode though :-( Please promise me there will be at least one or two Roger Out's in each episode of the upcoming trip vlogs! PLEASE!!??

Instead of face nailing …they sell a thing called wood floor bonding adhesive… many a boater has used it. It’ll also keep the wood from warping.

It was generally easy. I piloted the boat a little bit on the survey, then just took her 1000 miles back to Philly and learned along the way. The 70 is a much longer boat though, and two feet wider.
Be glad the Gremlins did not steal water. Burbon should be okay.
I was wondering if you can please, please make a video step-by-step on how you got your captain's license. I have no sea experience. I am asking because I have come to pre-owned a 88meter/foot long yacht from a property dry dock yard owner. It has been sitting for 8 + yrs. I've been doing work to it myself last 2 1/2yrs to renovate it. But I wanna study an be ready for my license after renovations.

Just a piece of cardboard that got stuck to the bottom when I was covering the top with epoxy.

Love the carpet and I love Raritan!! I replaced all three of the toilets in my heads from the vacuflush to Raritan last year. I have never regretted it. I had all kinds of trouble with the vaccuflush system... where are you guys headed? I'm thinking about heading to Exumas for 4-6 weeks. Maybe we can cross paths again in Bimini and drink more scotch!!
We are in Annapolis right now, waiting out the storm. On our way to the Exumas, perhaps further. We'll probably be in the Bahamas the entire month of June.
Hello Ed. How many hours were on the boat when you purchased it. Looking at a boat with over 14 thousand hours. They were rebuilt and now have over 4 thousand hours. Do u recommend buying the boat
It had 2600 hours. It now has around 3800, and runs perfectly. They have never been rebuilt. You can always have a diesel mechanic text the engines and oil for you. We just went with the 30 second text. Start up cold, and if the blue smoke disappears with 30 seconds, the engines are good.

I think they are a pretty good bang for the buck. We installed some JBLs on the flybridge which I like.
