Supposedly, Hugh Hefner took and printed Marilyn's photos in his magazine without her permission. She never met him but did not like him, according to several publications.

Yeah & it's creepy,gross & plain wrong that he rests for eternity next to her.
Marilyn had posed for those pictures years before for a photographer. She signed a contract with him. Years later the photographer sold the photos to Hefner, so at that point he didn’t need Marilyns permission to print them as he owned them. It was Hefners legal right to do albeit pretty shady.
I attended the same highschool in Chgo that Hugh Hefner did, but not in the same decade. He was a generous benefactor to his Alma Mater for many years.
Don Knots in The Ghost and Mr Chicken, was hilarious.
I remember when Don Knotts did the Scooby Doo movies ( the Animated ones), Along with Davey Jones, Mama Cass, Jerry Reed, ect. Might make a cool video to slowly visit all their graves then make a super cut.

Hugh Hefner's daughter Christie was the head of "Playboy " from 1988 to 2009. Before that,Playboy Enterprises with other companies. They had the Playboy record label and they started Collector's Choice Music and video. Under Christie's rein, it was sold off in Oct. 2000. Hef had 3 sons and only Cooper was active in Playboy. First son David adopted his stepfather's name and strived to keep out of the public eye.
I think they had bars or clubs too, right?
Expensive cemetery real estate. Quite a few famous ones are unmarked. Roy Orbison is one of them as I recall. Truman Capote and Johnny Carson's wife share the same crypt.
I’ve been doing my ancestry and Marilyn Monroe is supposedly my 11th cousin on my fathers side. I know it’s distant but I’ve always felt connected to her somehow. Great video of Hollywood Forever, it’s an interesting place!!

I will be there one day. I could have purchased next to Marilyn Monroe. Hugh Hefner, wanted it for himself. It didn't matter to me. A lot of my friends are there. Farrah Fawcett. A lovely human being on the outside a precious human being on the inside.

The man who is interred above Marilyn, was placed face down in his casket, so he could forever look down on her.

That is a very small cemetery, you could probably see almost every grave or crypt in less than an hour. Is that part of downtown LA a high crime rate area? Just curious.

As far as the crime rate goes, it didn’t seem like it was sketchy. It seems like a fairly decent part.

Just curious as to why Marilyn and Hugh’s crypt covers are different colours to the others ( not that it really matters.It just stands out …..is that the point for them to stand out ? )
Maybe it’s weather conditions but only those two seem effected
This is because of all of the lipstick prints on each cover that are smeared into the stone as they are cleaned off by the staff. This has turned them a pinkish color..

The guy above Marilyn told his wife that if she didn't turn him upside down in his casket, he would haunt her for the rest of her life. There's a CZcams video talking about him and that after his funeral, his casket was opened and they turned him face down.
The Cover stones are not the originals, and Maintenance have replaced them several times over the years because of the visitors doing the kissing .

Yeah, I heard that.. I do believe Dearly departed tours did a interview with one of the guys that worked for the cemetery back in the day and he confirmed it
Poor Marilyn. She has some guy placed face down above her, and Hugh Hefner (whom she didn't like) beside her just feels disrespectful. I wish her estate would almost move her to a place in the cemetery where she can be honored and by herself, but that will never happen.

You’re thinking of Holy Cross (Catholic) and Hillside Memorial (Jewish) in Culver City. Many celebs interred in both.
