    For hunter clade the leader cannot have the option of arc pistol and power weapon(has to be with the rad pistol). The real choice is between arc maul and taser goad, arc maul deals more damage and has stun(4/5) while the taser goad has less damage (3/4) but has stun a 5+ instead of the normal 6+. So if you want more damage go arc, if you want your leader to survive much longer in combat pick taser.

      @@VentrueMinis if you want more tips, currently the melee version of sicarians(rustalkers) is the better of the two cause of how much of a menace they are(pick the blades that are 4/6 with rending), talking 1 infiltrator seems good if you want to do forward deploy stuff.

      Personally as well, I’m of the opinion that all Skitarii operators should be vanguard. As I’ve played the team more and more, and
      played against better players as well, I’ve rarely felt like the rangers free dash/change order makes a difference in the overall game. Meanwhile, vanguard’s radiation aura has kept my gunners alive in situations that rangers would die in, and IMO their requirements for their aspect of the martial protocol strat are way easier to achieve, especially with critical ops being the main way to play and a guaranteed six objectives on the map. Fully agree on your points on melee weapons though

  • @LegateGallus
    @LegateGallus Před rokem +7

    I agree with your build but the breacher robots are actually quite good in certain matchups. The geistskull is another blast weapon, can deal with hidden operatives, and with lethal 3+ against power armor it can hit space marines pretty hard. And the CAT can extend the range of your surveyor for APL shenanigans and turns off concealed operatives. You won't always bring them and you usually won't bring both but I think anyone who wants to try out breachers should totally experiment with them!

    Exaction squad you had listed is playing them wrong from my experience. They’re designed to lean into the combat support mechanic and their shields to fight first & block. The line up I run is:
    - leader with shield
    - castigator
    - revelatum
    - malocator
    - churigant
    - box signifier
    - x4 shields
    - marksman or Webber, depending on the match up
    (GL can’t shoot into combat which is a major disadvantage).
    Thought I’d give my perspective, but if the team you listed is what’s being run in tournaments, no wonder the win rate is so low haha.

  • @patelliott8282
    @patelliott8282 Před rokem +1

    Great video. Very ambitious concept. A few notes:
    1) Legionaries usually run the Aspiring Champion for their leader, not the Chosen. Chosen is neat but the aspiring champion getting a free action when it scores a kill is just SO much stronger in most situations. Also you always take the Anointed rather than the Butcher, unless you're playing against a 7-wound team, in which case you take the Butcher. Against 8-wound teams, Legionaries usually take the butcher and run either Khorne or Slaanesh, so that both their aspiring champ and butcher can one-shot with an 8-damage crit. But against teams with more than 8 wounds, it's always the Anointed instead.
    2) Hunter Clade's leader can't take both the arc pistol and the power weapon. You usually take either arc or blast pistol (depending on matchup) and either taser goad or arc maul (the latter is my preference). For your Skitarii you either go full-vanguard or just the gunners as rangers and the rest as vanguard. Almost never take the Arquebus. For sicarians it's usually one infiltrator and the rest ruststalkers with blades, though those also vary wildly by matchup (chordclaw vs non-elites, spam infiltrators against teams like Warpcoven who rely heavily on re-rolls to be good in melee)
    3) Warpcoven builds vary greatly by the pilot's taste. I think both the 4-goat and 6-goat builds are solid in the right matchup, but I strongly advocate for folks to try out the 7-body build with 3 sorcerers (one of each discipline), 2 goats, rubric gunner with soulreaper, and rubric icon bearer. This spring I made the podium of a 20-person tournament in which I ran that build every game, losing only to Legionaries (Warpcoven's hardest counter)
    You're getting a lot of really good feedback in the comments; I'd really like to see a follow-up video incorporating that feedback. It'd get my like & share, anyway :)

      the aspiring champion is an instant pick for me as the 2+ on the plasma pistol is just that little bit more reliable at ensuring a kill against nearly any operative. And the power fist against 7 wound teams means you can hold off on chip damage a bit better. especially on ITD, on most games i've used him to charge an enemy on an objective, kill them with the power fist, then either kill another with the plasma pistol or go on guard to lock down a room, and then use my free action to flip the point, the activation economy is insane.

    Just going to address the Hearthkyn here: This is definitely down to local meta and the discussions I've had with folks - all of your points on the Jump Pack is super valid. That does seem like a strong pick, though I don't think the Dozr is as awful as people make it out to be. Pushing can be so strong on objectives. Ultimately, this is just a starting point and not the end-all-be-all.

    Tbh I prefer to take the heavy bolter with legionaires, I like being able to shoot twice with malicious volleys. While it is fun to one shot 7 wound models with the butcher I still feel like on nurgle the anointed is still stronger since he hits on 3+ and has the 5+ FNP AND can fight twice during his activation while the butcher kinda relies on giving himself rerolls with Vicious Blows. Still though that's my personal preference and the versatility of the Legionary team is why they are my personal favorite.

      Shields if you're facing a team with a lot of AP2 weapons like Kasrkin, spears otherwise. I've seen people do decently with 2 or 4 Custodes. Nice video… take another look at Hearth kin: noones taking pistols on Theyn, rifles only. Also dozr dies. All the time. There’s no weight behind a slow short ranged melee guy in this team with no ranged attack. I personal take it over medic. Because it can threaten (it still always dies and does nothing) but a good early pressure peace though.
    My main point though:
    Everyone is talking jumppack. Everyone. All maps. All matchups. It always scores about 1/5th of the points. It’s amazing. It rarely even dies in my games. If it dies it was after scoring 2-4 points and killing 1-2 models.
    In fact Without this model you can rarely even score the 3 natural objectives. There’s not enough movement. Your lugger does 1, jumppack does the other, and your hard pressed to reach a third. Lol …. What’s your reasoning??? This is a meta video, r ppl really not taking it?

    Unless I'm missing something new for the wyrmblade, including both cult agents would reduce the total team size to 12. Meaning at minimum, your team will get 4-6 Brood Adepts.
    I'm in full agreement with the choices however. For gunners, blast is usually not as great against elite teams, but even then webber is pretty mid when you account for the math hammer compared to the flammer. Auto guns are better against elite teams only if you can find an opening using the crossfire SP.
    Remember that The icon bearer staff ability is mediocre and often best used little to avoid blast attacks. Switch her out for a 5th brood adapt if you cant find a well fortified objective for her to sit on.

    I have a dumb question as someone who has never played Kill Team but has a vague interest in it. I feel like I remember Kill Team used to be that you formed your team out of a streamlined version of each faction's codex. Is it now just that you just have this list of Kill Teams you pick from, and you get what comes in the box plus the options that you pick rather than individually forming a list out of individual guys? Like, how does team building for Kill Team actually work, at the core of it?

    • @VentrueMinis
      @VentrueMinis  Před 11 měsíci +1

      You'll find that teams have a sheet which gives you the parameters of what you can have on your team. Each team is its own confined bubble of information, each team has its own datacards for individual operatives, equipment, strategic ploys, etc. When you get a box, you are buying into a specific team. This video gives suggestions for which operatives to build from the box(s) that you buy! Often, you'll have a list of operatives you *can* choose from, and build from, and so you'll have to pick which specific operatives will make up your team.

    Dozr? MOV4 and 7 HP. He is going to do what exactly? By the time he gets to do anything he is dead.
    The Jump Pack warrior is essential in stealing objectives the enemy has left behind unguarded. Leaving him is leaving the single model in the game that can do a 12" move! Not to mention you can Turn 1 nuke a horde team with the 12" boost and the concussion grenade! On Octarius he can boost up to a door and block entrance through it.
    The Plasma Beamer does not deal d3 mortal wounds on a crit to the original target and is 4/6 while the L7 Missile launcher is 5/6 with AP1 and has BLAST as well.

    So overall I love your video but as someone who has been playing Hearthkyn Salvagers since they dropped, what on earth is the argument for the bolt pistol 😂. Like you can take any gun with any melee weapon, under what circumstances is the bolt pistol better than the full length autoch pattern boltgun or even the ion-bolter against elites? Also in my experience the rail-rifle really only pays off against elite teams as it is unlikely you’ll get two shots off due to the unwieldy unless you’re using Ancestors are Watching every time you fire it. Also the rocket-jumper is great as a combined melee threat against teams up to 10 wounds thanks to that juicy 5/5 damage profile and the current balance dataslate changes inexplicably apply to them as well so they have a 7 inch normal move a lot of people seem to forget about. Lol I can understand this is a team that isn’t taken super serious competitively in its current state and thus doesn’t warrant a lot of attention, but I felt like I would share my experience having played them quite a bit since their release as it seems like good information on them is nearly impossibly to come by at the moment. Which is really sad to me because I think they’re a really cool team with a lot of potential and unique strengths. Plus I have a soft spot for the stout folks, gotta love dwarves.

Much harder to use and situational. Heavy gunner is better as a back up. (Like side deck should you know what you're going up against already)

    Completely disagree with the intercession roster personally, the rest seem like decent recommendations though.
    As for whats wrong with intercession, well first I think the standard leader is better since he can use the blessed rounds, shoot twice and has no range requirement which is terrifying whilst still having a power weapon in melee. Second, you wanna run a minimum of two standard intercessors in the 3 'regular' troop slots to be able to give them the rifles with scopes like you mention in the video, this is a crucial part of the teams power and giving the scope to the gunner is a waste if they will be using the launcher 99% of the time. The team has a lot of flexibility, and I get the impression most of your advise here is based on into the dark play and not open play, but regardless I still think the roster here is off.

Feel No Pains, Multi Fight, Ceaseless, Lethal 5+ gives him tools to deal with everything. The only time he gets left at home is ITD Loot, since there’s simply too many mission actions.

      @AzaMinis Před rokem

      @@VentrueMinis And? Pretty much only leader models with power weapons/power fists can kill an elite in 2 crits. With only 4A, it’s super rare the Butcher rolls enough crits to 2 tap an elite (even with relentless on the charge, it typically takes retaining 3 crits to strike with 2 of them if you’re threatening to 2 tap someone, and 3 crits on 4 dice is a ridiculous high roll).
      Meanwhile the Anointed is far more resilient against elites thanks to the FNP, has more attacks, and can double fight to finish off an elite if necessary.
      It’s painfully obvious your legionary comments are coming from a theorycrafting place and not real game experience. Ask any legionary player which of the Anointed or Butcher is more consistently valuable. Nothing beat charge, att, kill, blast anything with plasma. You use the blessed bolts on the other Warrior, maximize the amount of damage output, you have a plasma and a blessed bolts now

    "One of each sicarians with a total of four" What do you mean by this? You can only take one princeps and that is if you don't have an alpha.

      As in, take *at least* one of each of the two options :) I've seen folks run 1 infiltrator and 3 of the others or a mix between, but the forward deploy is real nice to have at least one of.

    Farstalker should be an 11 op team after the balance dataslate I believe. I use Wahapedia so lemme know if im wrong

      Wahapedia is correct but I think you're reading it wrong - it states you can take 11, and then 1 more for 12. KTdash is much better about portraying the updates correctly. On there it says you can take 12 - additionally, the balance made it so you can use the full box contents, which is 12 models.

      This video doesn't cover Compendium teams; it would be almost twice as long if it did.

    Uh... I was looking for this video, but not having annointed as auto take and replacing him with butcher, who is the king of being unreliable, kinda throws the credibility of the video out of the window for me. And Chosen is poop. But it is a list i would expect you to see the most as a vet guard player specifically. Also that Ironhorn loadout isn't legal, but others had mentioned that. And i thought C.A.T. was autotake on both breachers and inquisition, but maybe i just don't know enough about breachers, so i am not going to question that list just yet.
