At 6:24 Billy reaches over his drum kit and pokes Bobby with one of his drumsticks.
Thanks Biz, hope you like it. I wouldn't steer you wrong.
Jerry was so confidently in the zone on this one. The way he turns his guitar knobs and steps back to fire off that second solo is like him rip-starting a chain saw.
Dude, that is the greatest description I ever read of Jerry getting ready to rip it !
Well put!
When the Dead were in a musical zone, not a tighter band can ever be mentioned.
The best band, in the world !
With this version of "Deal", the first Jerry solo is very nice, but when he steps back for the second solo, LOOK OUT! One of the finest Guitar solos ever laid down by a Guitarist, IMVHO. I would put it up against any solo by any other Guitarist, you name them. Any of them.
Hahaha yup look the phawk out. Long Liv the phawkin Dead San Rafael Marin county San Francisco California 😎🌛⚡🌜😎🌁🍄
Brent was the greatest keyboardist the Dead ever had.
Amazing Jerry here!!! You gotta check out Help On The Way > Slipknot > Franklin’s Tower! Talk about some amazing guitar work! John Mayer said that Slipknot is the hardest thing he’s ever learned!
Best road crew in history. They
gave the boys the space to do this.
And thank you BILL GRAHAM.
If you haven't already, check out the "Not Fade Away", which is from the same night, I think. The guitar and keys duel between Jerry and Brent is an eternal moment. I miss those guys more than anyone I've never met.
Not the same night, or even the same city, but I have that in the queue for Djery. Gotta get to a few others first, though.
Of course more please please!!
Deals fun! Late 80’s are my favourite years
Yeah! I was at this show - hoot!
Perfect the way you summed it up !
I was at this run of shows. Me and 50,000 of my closest friends. Good times, but a lot of rain and mud.
Nice one Biz. I waitin😂
Best concert I've ever had the privilege to attend...barely any filler tunes
Saw the Jerry Garcia Band. Deal was the encore. Jerry was jamming away , the other band members stopped and put their instruments away, the lights came on, the crew started taking the set down, and Jerry kept on jammin'!
Love those guitars they rock. The whole band was great. Thank you Biz
Yea this is a great version. The Boys DEFINITELY achieved lift-off this night!
I learned the true meaning of tie dyed t-shirts at a dead concert in Atl. Doing shrooms and when someone was dancing in front of me and left but their tie dyed shirt stayed and continued to dance in front of me. You would have been a great Dead Head eating grilled cheese samiches in the parking lot. Augusta Ga
I became a Deadhead 10/28/85 at the Fox. Saw every show at the Omni from 88 on
I saw them it was the same year Bruce Springsteen was on the born in the USA tour. Saw him the night before in the Omni then GD the next night
Nice one!
You need to check out St Steven, uncle John’s Band, Pride of Cucamonga, Mexicali blues, and Ruben and Charisse, if you haven’t already, those are a few of my favorite and Ripple, of course.
Hey jeri here with ya!!
GOATS.
Grateful Dead always good to listen to. If you haven't listened to Sugar Magnolia that's a good song too.
🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️
here's a video of the dead covering "Day Tripper" - one of the many times that the song met THE MOMENT with the crowd - (g-d we used to have SO MUCH FUN) enjoy czcams.com/video/BQbbDoeJg3k/video.htmlsi=PTaUOPw8CQBP6uU5&t=7469
The Fat Man ROCKS 🎉💀🌹🔥🔥🔥💯
I have never listened to a Grateful Dead song, unless it was accidentally on the radio.
Oops
And? What did you think? Maybe you could listen to a few more if we twisted your arm?
Hey Sandy, that is your loss. The boys in the band were VERY serious about the music, and after seeing them live 50 or so times, I can attest, they care. And they are really good at what they, because they are the only one's who can do it.
@JB-Deadskins I liked it, and I was surprised I did. 😊 No arm twisting necessary!
Hey I see you are a Redskins. Umm, Commanders fan. I live in Maryland. Everyone is sorta over the Colts by now, but it's hard to stop saying Redskins!!
@bobschenkel7921 Wow, you must be a super fan to have seen them that many times. Of course I have heard of them, I always thought they were like psychedelic rock or something, though. I like all kinds of music, but for some reason, I never got into those types of groups. Like The Doors etc. I have to admit I am not much of a Beatles fan either though.
If you want to hear something different, try the version of Playing In The Band on Bob Weir's album 'Ace'.
Check out Brokedown Palace.
