Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on CZcams, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on CZcams. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on CZcams, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

Jerry's first solo was pretty good, but when he stepped back for that second one, LOOK OUT! I would put that solo up against anyone, anytime, anywhere. Eric Clapton, Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower, David Gilmour, Billy Gibbons, Trey Anastasio, Mark Knopfler, ANYONE! YOU name 'em. He'd been playing "Deal" since 1970, and he showed that he knew what was going on. I was at Alpine Valley in 1988, all four shows, during the heatwave, a great venue that seemed to bring out the best in The Dead. Thanks for this.

When he starts at the 4 minute mark, and then ratches it up at the 5 min mark, and then builds on that at the 6 min mark, and at the 7 min mark the band is flying down the track grooving until he lifts off at the 8 min mark. By then you are laughing at how incredible it is and crying at how beautiful it is

Grate reaction man. "Deal" was first recorded for Jerry's excellent first solo album "Garcia," released in 1972. The song became a fan favorite and a staple in the Dead's live performances. The lyrics have been interpreted as a reflection on themes of betrayal, gambling, and life's uncertainties. I really enjoyed this spirited performance! The Meadowlands show released as "Nightfall of Diamonds" is another fantastic show from this year. I'd go so far as to call it one the Dead's finest concerts of the 80s.

@@tcanfield yeah it’s kinda sad people still get all up in arms over rock bands. You can’t talk someone out of liking or disliking any band. At Jerry’s Diner Jerry cooks what ever he wants.

Really enjoyed watching this. There are a lot of complete G.D. shows some with video on CZcams. What you will find is that after awhile you will start to hear how they sounded in the different years from 1965 - 95. Each year has a different sound.

That's a great version of Deal, never heard before You did a lot if grinning during the track, glad you dug it. The song 'Deal' was in Garcia's first sekf titled solo album in 1971. That and Bob Weir's same year solo LP "Ace" became part of the Dead canon in the '70s, along w "Workingman's Dead" and "American Beauty". Jerry's solo LP included, Deal, Loser, Bird Song, Sugaree + The Wheel. Weir's had Mexicali Blues, Greatest Story Ever Told, Cassidy, Playing in the Band.
Two underappreciated Dead albums that are worth a listen. As well as the mentioned previously Jerry Garcia's Bluegrass band "Old and In the Way".

Hey Lisa, my friends and I were at the 1988 shows, all four, in the heat, and it is still part of the best ten days of my life in a row. Two days driving out from Eastern Pa., two shows, a day off in Milwaukee, went to an A's/Brewers game, two more shows, a day to go to Ohio, a show, and a day to go home. Wordsy. The only regret, not going to the show in Pittsburgh.

I didn't go to this show, but it's pretty representative of Summer Tour '89 - a peak time in their performance history (Jerry was relatively healthy that Summer) - this was just prior to him getting the MIDI hookup on the Wolf guitar which gave him an incredible amount of new colors and textures in sound to work with - The Tiger's "bell" sound at it's peak... if you want to hear Jerry play some incredible solos... try this one on for size... this tune on this night turned my head into a Tuning Fork! (and it isn't even considered the "highlight" of this particular show) - sorry - no visuals but DEADHEADS have their own visuals in their head.... enjoy an early Throwing Stones czcams.com/video/Qv0vqYu3_NA/video.html

Maybe a slight resemblance, but your affect and your appreciation of the band and the music are perfect! Reminds me of a Bay Area show a little earlier than this one when I had the same sort of grin throughout. When the music paused (no, it never really stops), one of the tape-recorder guys offered me a cassette he'd made at Red Rocks. He said that at every concert he goes to he gives away a tape to whoever seems to be having the best time. I got the prize that evening, and thank you for the reminder.

Always nice to see someone appreciating the Dead, I just watched your Morning Dew and Shakedown Street reactions as well. If you want another absolute banger where the band is really firing on all cylinders, check out "The Music Never Stopped" from 2/3/78. Honestly you'd be hard pressed to find a bad live version of that song but this is one of the best.
