- In episode three of the most chill car show on CZcams: Mike tells us about his 1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate, a wagon that shares the same LT1 V8 as the Corvette, Camaro Z28, and the Firebird Trans Am. It's the big goofy wagon for people who know.

Love this. You can feel his passion and know that he had a great childhood and is a great dad.
I think it's safe to say that this guy is going to create amazing memories in this car and so will his family after he's done with it...I hope this wagon sees a million miles.....👍
I own two 94 caprices, essentially the same car without the wood panel, and wagon body and they make me smile every time I see them.
Always been a fan of the Buick Roadmaster Wagons. Now even more so.
Cool car. I have a 96 Impala SS which came off the same assembly line as that Roadmonster. Bought it new and still have it. It just turned 299,000 miles. 2nd engine, original transmission.
Thats incredible for a 4l60E...you definitely got a good one
"This little piece, this little piece, this little piece" and there lies the reason why they are almost extinct.
Nice guy, wonderful car - a reminder of better times!
Never selling my Dodge Magnum after looking at this, thanks guys
HahasoNotorious 327 lmfao a magnum is shit bro
Mike Comer How old are you it's a wagon and it's an awesome car to me sir, to me and I own it.
HahasoNotorious 327 Hello, fellow Magnum owner here and now I'm thinking the same. Have you checked out lxforums.com ?
HahasoNotorious 327 magnum is cool....but doesn't even come close to the versatility and style this car has...good luck finding another one of these in this kind of shape....
Christopher May they're all down south. And a few up here in the Midwest
Oh man this made my day!! I am the proud homemaker-mommy-wagon driving owner of an 04 Volvo Xc70 Cross Country. Loving hubby says it's time to upgrade come 1st quarter..but I don't think I can bear to part with it. It was the first major purchase we made as a married couple. Our 5 year old daughter LOVES it. I have never felt so safe, and my twin brother and I share fond memories of growing up in Raleigh NC with our Mom toting us around in her '85 wood grain Pontiac Parisienne!! Nice to see other wagon afficianados out there! Lord have mercy what I'd give to have a beaut like that to cart our baby girl and her friends around in! Not to mention FAMILY ROAD TRIPS!! I am envious! God bless your Daddy for giving ya'll wonderful memories in your family wagon, and you too for carrying on the tradition!
Loved the story, but would like to see more of the car as well. Thank you.
Amazing video and an amazing story! Thanks for sharing!
Loved that piece, that was much better then the last one. More elegant pieces on these nostalgic classic cars with the owners please.
If you grew up in a family who owned a wagon you would get this guys passion. I do. My Dad had A 69 Pontiac Safari wagon before he bought a 76 Pontiac Grand Safari wagon Clam shell....... oh the memories.
I know the owner very well. There is probably nobody on this planet who knows and loves these vehicles more than him. He has an appreciation for some true oddballs, but can also rebuild a car from scratch and work on pretty much anything. To see anything negative about him posted is disheartening. He's a generous man, a hard worker, and a humble family man.
I had a 96 buick estate wagon that was black from the factory with the lt1 motor...i wish i never got rid of it
He owns a Citation X11.. haven’t seen one of those in over 20 years.
The Car Crazy Guy my gf parents in middle school had one back in 1987....yeah.....20 plus is an understatement....😂
Those things handeled pretty well for a shitbox
I saw that too! That was my first car!
The Car Crazy Guy this is a caprice
I remember trying to buy an X11 when they were new, but I didn't make enough I guess (I was in the Navy at the time) to qualify for the loan. Neat little car.
I just picked up a 96 roadie with 128k original miles, I have it in the shop now for a bad hiccup and occasional stall. Just a phenomenal car and the looks it gets are priceless. Love my wagon and never plan to sell, even my wife enjoys the couch like comfort of the bench seats.....
I picked up a '94 Roadmaster Wagon from trading my lowered '88 S10 Blazer. I miss my Blazer, but love the wagon. I've always loved wagons.
I remember as a kid riding in the back of one while going to Wild Country Safari in Florida with my dad and the family. I yanked my arm at a truck and he blew the horn, nearly scaring everyone. Haha it was awesome! I wanted something that the kids could ride to school in if needed and make memories like that. They like the "throw you into the seat" get up and go that it has and usually tempt me to get on it.
Coincidentally I'm doing a GS wagon as well.
some of my best childhood memories took place on the road sitting in the third row of a station wagon. Lifting those little seats up was always a treat!
The love for a car is dope.
Word.
"Nicest people in the world drives a Station Wagon", so true. Great car story
What an awesome story! Thank you!
Dad has two. One with 55k miles. Black with fake wood sides. It just sits. I drive it around when I visit. Sat four years
This video made me smile. It's more than just a car!
Grew up riding in the back of my aunt and uncle's Buick Roadmaster up to the local mountains and lake. Fell asleep every time. I have very fond memories of those trips. Maybe now that is why I drive Volvo wagons. I think I do it not only to haul stuff but reminds me of all of those trips. I prefer Volvo turbo wagons because they are faster, can handle better, easier to work on (older ones) and haul more.
I've read a lot of the posts and only the Saab guy picked up on the story of the fellow owners/aficionados helping you restore the car after the deer damage. I was lucky enough to have fellow Volvo owners do the same for me and I do what I can to pay it forward. I'm buying another Volvo wagon and repairing the seller's Volvo 240 speedometer wiring harness at the rear axle.
Good to see the last gen B-bodies are getting more and more attention now. These are classics in the making, and rightfully so.
Was just driving home from work in Austin TX and saw one of these on freeway and had to look it up!
As a Buick lover, thanks for this vid post. #BUICK💪😎
I honestly think this car is far from beauty but I'm driving a wagon since November and as he started talking about how this car was a part of his family and it will be, I related and looked at this car from much better angle.
Keep that beauty and keep caring for it, sir- all of you deserves it.
Wagons are something special nowadays. They harken back to a different era and way of life. Something that a Crossover can't do. Sure they're nice but...they don't have the soul or character. Maybe once they hit the used car market..and earn their quirks. But honestly...nothing compares to a wagon.
I remember this guy and seeing him and his GS at the local meet in Leander and Cars and Coffee
he's pretty well known on Facebook too because of this car and his 3rd gen camaro lol.
Yeah, I've seen him at the cars and coffee in Austin and the round rock car show as well!
Yeah, I've seen him at the cars and coffee in Austin and the round rock car show as well!
Wonderful lines on the car. Perfect engine for that station wagon. American automotive masterpiece.
Wow great story, I want one badly
PLEASE ! G.M. Bring back the Buick Roadmaster wagons ! You guys don't have to change anything on em ! Just start making em again they way the were before !
Tom hanks?
His Texan uncle...
I have loved wagons all my life. At 32 I bought my first one last year, a loaded 1990 Buick Estate Wagon. I love it and there is nothing at all made like it anymore. It is rolling Americana at its best! You are lucky that the deer didn't really damage the fenders to badly. The sheets of Colonial Oak Di-Noc are nearly impossible to find now if you had to re-do them, although if you're patient one will show up on eBay from time to time and pretty cheap usually. When new GM wanted over $200 per roll!
I just bought a Buick Roadmaster sedan with 120k for $450 and the only thing wrong with it is the grill is smashed, I got a new grill for $25 and now it looks like a new car!
Wow
wow
He's right to have those feelings. The drive ins , I even remember those. This car is a classic and it's fast, too. You defininitely have the speed. I'm just hoping to find one like yours to purchase. I really miss my Roadmaster Sedan. Just how smooth it rode.
i have an 89 turbo caravan minivan with wood grain....Im amazed at how many ppl stop me to say they had one (usually non turbo one lol). Memories are incredibly powerful motivators & thats the way it should be
I had 84 Pontiac Parizienne wagon, then I bought 96 Roadmaster. Made mistake of selling both but with no place to keep and repair them, had to let them go. Then few years ago I saw a 95 for sale in Jacksonville and drove 300 miles to get it. Its nowhere near as nice as this one, but it fulfills the "wagon itch". Oh and that LT1 will surprise you, even with 2.93 gears in the back ;)
I absolutely love station wagons! We had a 1975 Chevy wagon that was Baby Blue and had a 400 cubic inch small block that I rebuilt for my dad when I was 13. He spun a bearing in it racing my cousin in Florida and was absolutely sick over it. So with my rusty tools that had been gathered over the years I put a crank kit in it in the front drive back in the early 80s. It's probably still going somewhere :-) I would love to find another one and restore it.
Love this wagon
Excuse me, the correct term for the third row is “the way back”.
Ours was a Buick family but I spent many happy hours in our wagons. GREAT video.
I’m more interested in the X-11 Citation
Dude! Ikr!!!
Lovely video! 😊
Great video, cool car, awesome owner. Thanks!
And for all the haters, good lord, I'll never understand how someone can get so upset about a FREE piece of entertainment like this.
tmh44 me either....this guy makes every effort possible to do anything and everything with his family and his car's....what's not to smile at here....I love watching these kinds of videos....👍
As the second owner of a 67 VC Valiant Safari,... I totally get this guy, and that whole 'wagon community' thing.
This is one of those pieces where you're glad the story has been told.
My actual dream car
Love those 90s Buicks. My aunt had a 94 Roadmaster Sedan and i loved that car. I remember getting behind the wheel of it still used to the 4 banger in MY Volvo 240 and giving the pedal the same amount of pressure and spinning the tire (open diff). From then on i became interested in big cars like that and the Ford Crown vic.
ConvoyDavenport I
Chicks dig it...ITs a mobile Shaggin Wagon...
I had a 96 that I bought from a funeral home and they bought it brand new. Loved that wagon and it's the only one I have seen that was all grey with cloth interior.
Great awesome boats. This and the Malibu wagon are the only wagons I liked when was growing up in the 90s.
I love the content on this show. Keep up the good work guys. This all passion at it's finest.
I just bought a 91Roadmaster Estate Wagon Limited...I love it! Cruising in K.C. Mo.
I've been wanting a '95 Caprice Classic for a while now.
Saw a guy about 18 months ago with one, the interior was completely redone and most surfaces were covered with long shaggy faux fur, he was listening to Snoop Dog... and the best part is he looked exactly like Andy Milonakis. Anyways it wasn't the Caprice wagon it was just the car, but you forget how big these things were until you see them in person.... it's almost like they were made larger than life just to be flashy as apposed for actual function.
Love this story behide this wagon! I'm in the process/waiting to get my hands on a 94 myself with oringinal 81k miles on it, one owner. Can't wait!
Always love this wagon!
That car is just obscure enough for me to like it.
I love these. A sleeper car.
I nearly cried when my parents sold our '96. Same color, but a brown interior. I grew up in that car.
That's one sweet Road Head Master!
First time I see one of these with a Buick grill it looks good that's a beautiful car man enjoy it
Love the impala rims on the wagons they look super sweet this wagon is almost identical to the caprice wagon we own
Great story befitting this car.
Love the lt1!!! I have a 95 firebird formula first car I ever bought. Beautiful
I knew this car looked familiar, then I recognized the roads and realized I is in my hometown and it was at one of tge local Cars and Coffee shows tgat this has been on display.
amazing car !
That's what it's all about. The love of the car no matter what kind it is
Love love it!!
I had a 93 Roadmaster limited.
I miss her.
Love the SS rims and the Citation next to it. That Citation is a rare car now!
Wow, its normal to love those old american estates, an extint breed now...
Awesome video!
Not my favorite wagon, but a thumps up for a cool story.
I love that his other car is a chevy citation.
I get it. I get exactly what that guy was saying. This was a very good production with a nice wagon.
I'm usually not a fan of swapping wheels--I really like the OEM in most cases. BUT-- those Impala ss wheels look fantastic on that car
I own one . A 96 collectors edition.
Aaaaaah!!! The station wagon. An SUV before there was a such thing as an SUV. I agree 100% with tmh44 "Great video, cool car, awesome owner. Thanks!"
Just think this is a wagon with the lt1 from the Corvette and my nana may of had the lt1. Yep you heard that right, my nana had a roadmaster wagon. I even rode in it multiple times, the leather seats are more comfortable than my mom's 2010 town and country which most likely have seats made of nylon which feel like strait plastic sitting on it for long periods of time and we are trying to replace the van since we hit a deer and we didn't see any worth in fixing it since we have had numerous expensive repairs. The only issue is that my mom thinks that station wagons are embarrassing while minivans and SUVs are superior despite the van being a lemon since my dad bought it 3 or 4 years ago. It even came with a broken promise of having the front and rear bumpers fixed, I even found a roadmaster wagon at a dealership that is within my dad's budget. But my mom said that she doesn't want a crapped out nana-mobile despite the van being in a condition so bad we totaled it. Also the wagon I found had good mileage while the van is close to having 300,000 miles and possibly have the transmission quit in the middle of a trip.
I've got a 95 Caprice wagon. Fun cars
I kinow the feeling with these cars, once had a ´95 Caprice STW with LT1.
2004 Volvo V70r. Keeping it
I've tried to find a 96 Anniversary model. Love these cars.
MY grandparents towed a horse trailer with one. One time it wasnt running right and it took like 3 tanks of gas to drive from the middle of florida to georgia
Quintessential 90's dad from the suburbs. Should be driving a 1994 Ford Tarus too.
Nice to see a "performance" wagon though.
I miss my 92 Roadblaster.
one of the greatest cars
I feel the same way about my 96 Roadmaster sedan. It also has the LT1.
Pause... is that a Chevy citation in his garage???
Christopher Thompson yes, and not just any Citation. :)
Yep, can't forget about that late '70s Regal sitting back there either!
I had to stop there too.. I was like.. is that a Citation X11? Followed by.. holy crap my knowledge of obscure 80s cars is scary.
😂😂 Facts
After I saw a Buick Roadmaster on Topgear USA, I've always wanted one.
That was properly good.
What an awesome story! I wouldn't sell it either.
Karl Green Hit the meth pipe again it’s a boat buddy
I have been wanting an old wagon 60’s 70’s
Swooper S they are out there....but in most cases people know what they are and what they are worth....good luck getting one cheap....
You were great in cast away
If this is the car I think it is I know the original owner of this car. Worked for them at their travel agency in Round Rock. When they traded it in I was on way to get it from them with cash in hand but they had already signed paperwork. Was very sad but glad to see it ended up with such a good and caring owner.
I need an 11 second Roadie. It’s gotta have Woodgrain. A manual would be heaven.
That was a large improvement over the last one but still room for more improvement.
great story its a family tradition thing
Wagons kick ass
Corvette fuel rail covers does not mean its a corvette LT1, this is an iron headed version of the f-body (camaro) LT1.
