It’s because Emery unlike some other managers doesn’t use injures as an excuse he still expects the best from whoever plays and I think this attitude is part of why Villa are still doing so well.

Absolutely Aston Villa deserves Champions League. They have kept the English coefficients tallying in Europe through the European Conference League whilst challenging for Champions League qualification through the Premier League. They certainly look capable of competing domestically and in Europe under Emery.

Villa have had way worse injury hits than all other teams. 3 x ACLs, regular medium term injuries in a Matt Cash, Digne, Diego Carlos, Paul Torres and Jacob Ramsey…the guy on the left is having a laugh. The reason Villa are 4th is because they’re better than the teams below. Not because the others have had a bad season. They’re just not as good!

  • @andybYVR

With minor tweaks this is the same team that a certain legend player and decidedly non legend manager almost got relegated. His 11 months post Dean Smith and pre Unai being the only real eff up of the owners NSWE made. The owners that essentially saved a relegated Aston VIlla from going bankrupt. A tough job building Villa back up to where they were years and years ago. A small but young and well gelling team thats slowly and under the radar doing the business. Our best signing: Unai Emery. Lets hope Lille, and the remaining Euro games go well, as does the league. Once Villa get their long term injury players out the treatment room, and humming again next season. who knows what is possible. UTFV

Even as a Villa fan the reaction to beating Arsenal is way over the top, people forgetting the hammering by Newcastle, Spurs, throwing it away at home to Brentford etc Unai is awesome and I’m convinced we will win something under him but let’s be cool about this.

Come on. Be realistic. Emery's work is in progress. He has only been at Villa for 18 months. Now they are a top 4 team and improving. Yes, they have dropped some points but that is the sole reason they are not actually challenging for the title - nobody expects that in Emery's second season.

@@user-wn3tg7gl2w I agree, we are overachieving but the reaction is ridiculous. We beat Arsenal, there isn’t a trophy or a champions league place for that. What he’s doing is fantastic but there isn’t a trophy yet, that’s what I want.

@@brianf3207We are in the Europa Conference League quarter-finals and we have just beaten the Champions League quarter-finalists. I'm sure this season a trophy is on its way. Next season competing in the Champions League will be Emery's primary focus, together with building a squad to sustain both future domestic and European competitions. He has done fabulously well in the last few months with that bottom 5 squad he inherited under Gerrad to currently be comfortably in the top 5 in the Premier League in only last 18 months - that trajectory is key. Trophies will follow.

It's all about what Villa do over 38 games in the league & not 4, Aston Villa are 13 points ahead of Manchester United/Newcastle & there on merit, Villa rarely get any credit, but for a club that has struggled in recent years they are doing great under Unai Emery & his team, we're building something special at Villa & the fact that Unai only started 17-18 months ago makes what we've done already more incredible. There's only 3 clubs ahead of us who have had way more time & money to build their setups, with Pep at City-8 years,Klopp at Liverpool -9 years & Arteta at Arsenal -5 years. Villa are a very good side & completely deserve UCL football next season & after dark times it's about time us Villa fans have some good times & about time other football people gave some respect to our great football club that has been in existence for 150 years now &' is one of the original 12 clubs that started the football league which is the basis of what all football clubs play in to the current day, when the 1st league started where were the so called Big 6? Nowhere to be seen,so give us some credit & show some respect to Aston Villa fc & it's large loyal fan base worldwide, Villa are back & challenging again,so get used to us upsetting the apple cart & shaking up the league, we're Aston Villa & I say fuck the Rich 6 & the boring mainstream narrative that is piss poor & us Villa fans are tired of hearing from too many clowns in the football world,Your shit & we know you are.💩.. mainstream media/pundits....🤫 Shush.!!!!...🖕... up the fuck'in Villa!!!! ....✌️⚽😆
