    It isn’t easy, loving watercolor. Not exactly “tra-la-la-la-la” down the garden path 😂. My husband keeps asking “but I rarely see you painting, are you having fun?” It includes a LOT of organizing and cleaning and more organizing. May I say it’s SOOO nice watching you do it!!!! 🥰🥰🥰

      @@BeckyTregear I agree! I have so many supplies, mostly watercolor but quite a but of Golden acrylic, and am stuck with what to do with them! Maybe watercolor/gouache in “hurricane season” and acrylic/watercolor in “winter” palettes?) I think we may be in the same growing zone so it’s so hard to keep up with the zones we’re familiar with or see all over on IG and M. I do know it’s shark season around us - that’s shark mating season for over 20 different shark species or varietals or however they’re counted -around us at the moment. They want us to believe they’re friendly lol

  • @stockholmpearlsandviews4772

    I really like the pallet top left at the end, good idea to use the extra big pans. According to an acquaintance who’s a doctor, colours can make us happy, give us inspiration etc because they stimulate (I think that was the word used) the reward centre in the brain. Our attraction to paints and always looking for new colours and the happiness and hopefully satisfaction of painting is good for us. Knowing this we don’t have to feel any guilt buying new paints! 😉

      Sounds like an excellent reason to me! That palette is one by an Australian company called Neef; it is very heavy and solid metal. Painted white but I decorated mine with alcohol inks, lol. You can find Neef Metal Palette at a store called Senior Art Supplies. They have a website. 😊

    I just poured all my colors last weekend and this weekend I need to get them organized. Im rigging an 18 well Medeen plastic palette with 48 hlf pans in the mixing area and 18 poured into the wells. I have 2 and one will be for purples pinks blues and the other neutrals reds yellows and greens and the 12 pack starter of Qor in the wells. I'm mixing all brands and I may not have enough space. I haven't used Akademie because I just went straight to Horadam and I don't know how much difference there is. I've used White Nights though, and they are very nice! Do you shop online at all on Jackson's Art? They often have sales on Schmincke Horadam sets, and there's possibly one on this week (at least in Australia) so they may be worth looking into. Personally I'd just go for the Horadam over Akademie and invest in their best ones straight up so you don't buy Akademie and THEN Horadam, if that makes sense. But White Nights is a great option too! Other brands which are awesome are Rosa Gallery and Roman Szmal. These should also be less expensive than Schimincke, and they're both professional quality. Best of luck!

      @BeckyTregear  Před 3 lety

      They have been pretty good though they had some issues for a while getting new stock in, but postage to Australia has been good. It seems to go on some strange algorithm for pricing, and maybe depending on what and/or how much you buy. Sometimes it's free or a couple of dollars, and then once it was $15! But you can calculate postage before committing to buy. Usually the cheapest is standard tracked mail and it takes about two weeks for things to arrive, in my experience. Oh yes, and once I received something that was broken, I emailed them and they were really great and sent out a replacement free of charge so my experiences with them have been positive.

      I haven't yet used Rembrandt paints, but I may have found some for Christmas, lol. Mine are tubes though, and I was planning a video for January maybe? I am pretty sure that on another channel, Miranda Watson - Alkali Creek Art she has a set of Rembrandt pans. I can't remember which video but possibly around last Christmas or so? She swatched them and they looked very nice. As good as Schmincke? I don't know yet, and I'll have to find out for myself as well. 😁

      @@BeckyTregear Alright, thanks for your opinion :) Do you think a set of 24 or 36 is better for a beginner?

      @@adriannamarszal 24 is probably a good start (price wise as well!) and you can get a lot of mixes from a varied set of colours. I mean it will probably expand to more over time, but I think when I first bought some professional paints (Daniel Smith) I had around 16 of them? Then I built up from there and now my collection is much larger, lol.

    What is your favorite watercolor?

      It's so hard to choose because I love them all, haha! I think Sennelier is still my favourite, but then Schmincke, Daniel Smith, M.Graham......😱😂
