The reason they couldnt bring sebastian back is because there was NO electrical stimulus like the gorilla got. When they brought the gorilla back, they injected her with the serum and then used the electrical stimulus, Sebastian never got that. Had they given that to him in combination with the serum they would have gotten him back. Notice how at the end of the movie he gets shocked and a portion of him is now visible...
I wonder why they never thought of that...

This movie is a psychological gem. People watching it really does make you question how people react once they get a taste of power. In this movie basically all of his dark impulses surfaced once he was able to get a taste of that power. It's pretty frightening when you think about it.

The part that truly got me stunned was when he r*ped the poor woman. That has probably been one of the most fucked up things I've seen in this. Like, imagine how traumatized she must have been from that, and whats worse is she can't see the attacker, she can't do anything about it. And the ending scene of her just crying on her bed after being assaulted. This was so fucked up.

I remembered watching it as kid, it's one of the best movie I saw on television. Sebastian is one of those villain who first come as an awful but not psycophatic person who descent to madness because he tasted power and it got over his head. A really interesting movie.

noone knew that he was invisible except the lab crew. I guess he did not want them to search for him to turn him back.
Lab crew would have told the army. The army would have employed several thousands of soldiers with infra-red goggles and set up infrared cameras all over america just in the search for the guy.
There exist no possibility in this world that the US army would allow an invisible man to walk freely around. Have you any idea the risk he poses to high officials and politicians?
If he'd just taken and ran away all the people in the lab would've warned everyone else. The army knew about the invisibility serum but didn't know it worked on humans.
By making the lab explode and killing everyone he was gonna guarantee his secret was safe.

Imagine what a nightmare he would have become if he had escaped and destroyed all evidence in the lab, being the only completely unknown invisible genius in the world. At least for a while, because I believe his plan had a flaw...
When the agents check the dental remains of the charred bodies underground, why is the project leader missing...they wouldn't know he was invisible for sure, but seems awfully suspicious if he didn't turn up to find out what happened. Also that mysterious death in the pool at the mansion with a water trail leading out of the yard, and possibly some "crazy" girl claiming she was raped by an invisible man. They'd put two and two together, as the government isn't dumb. Even as an invisible man, Sebastian left too many crumbs.

@@k-rodkev-dog7449 it’s actually rather simple. The ability to see is caused by light bouncing off that little receptor in your eyeballs, therefore sending us the information. Light passes through invisible or clear things, which gives them the invisible or clear look, since there is no light bouncing off of them to bounce off our eyes to give us the data that they exist, visibly at least. If your eyes are invisible there is nothing to bounce off of, therefore making you blind as you cannot take in the necessary information.

That he sabotaged the experiment of coming back. Someone agrees? Idk if this theory fits the plot but I thought it was interesting
Holy moly, no wonder that scene showing up in this video shocked me. Back when it was still pretty new, I always saw this movie only on TV in my country of Singapore, and the rape scene had never been shown. I'm pretty sure the broadcaster censored it, and I'm glad they did. I think teenage me wouldn't have processed it well. O_O
