The fact they go to her house and there is no security or a parent around should have been a RED FLAG
Not really. If they thought the parents were rich it makes sense that the kid would be ignored. Rich people don't care about their children.
Aye, as @chrisheard5727 says, rich tend to rely more on guards and security systems rather than be around their children. Due to that, this part of the story is pretty solid. I'm surprised I didn't hear of this movie sooner as I usually enjoy a good vampire movie, and those are few and far between.

Ah yes, the old "let's split up to look for the ravenous monster" strategy. Not only are they content with executing this flawless plan once, but after abject failure, go for it again...I know the horror genre is more trope-driven than most films, but when are writers going to come up with more creative variations or even subvert the typical narrative/plot devices? I won't hold my breath.
is more a comedy than what you say there the story advance in a funny and interesting way try it again and now don't stop it at half of the movie because act 1 is what you just said but act 2 and 3 is something unexpected even for a pleb that hated new horrors movie after 2010
Honestly in this particular movie the splitting up is probably their best shot. It seems like the smartest thing to do so one of them can find her and inform the other girl that has the injection so she can surprise inject her.
The plan isn't even that bad and it actually makes sense, which is far more than the normal horror movie would give you.
Most horror movies require the characters to do stupid things or it simply doesn't work. Instead of just getting the hell out right away when things go south, the characters double down.
One bright day in the middle of the night
two dead boys begin to fight
they stand there; back to back they face eachother
drew their swords and shawt eachother
A deaf policeman heard the noise and came and shawt the two dead bois.
I’d love to see a horror movie where the protagonists all stick together and move as a group through the haunted cave/mansion/cabin/spaceship picking off monsters along the way until they are all dead. Then all high five each other on a job well done…alas
This is why I refuse to kidnap children. You just never know.

@@user-wc2gx4jq4e Bro they show the name of the movie in the first 0:01 second of the video.
I loved this movie, but i found Frank's heel turn weird. Him and Joey could have killed Abigail together and then left. Not only that but it didnt make sense that they didnt just kill Abigail while she was drugged.
the end feels like a dramatic film to solve the problems of a father and his daughter
Frank wanted to kill a little girl before he even knew she was a vampire, he was hardly ever a good guy even back when he was human and becoming a vampire is bound to make you even more evil. So he might as well kill everyone if he thinks he can do it, after all you wouldn't want your secret about being a vampire to get out.
As for why they didn't kill Abigail while she was drugged, I'll admit it's kind of silly but they still thought they had legitimately kidnapped Abigail and that her father was looking for her at that point. They wanted to avoid Lazar's wrath and thought they could talk this out but it was pointless since Abigail actually orchestrated everything.
@@giantWario I'm not saying Frank was a good guy. He more than has ground to kill Abigail, and she more than has it coming. My problem is his turn around in trying to kill Joey, instead of just killing Abigail and just leaving. especially since they both wanted Abigail dead.
As for the 2nd part, i can see that. But personally if the thing that literally took a bullet to the head had any moment of weakness, i would say kill her and then worry about Lazar later. They could have left to another country or whatever. Especially since they learned that Lazar's enforcer is Abigail.
Still a great movie, just some justifications could have played out differently.
@@darryljack6612 Yeah but as I said, Joey knows he's a vampire. That's the kind of thing you don't really want getting out.
Also it doesn't really seem like he wanted to kill her as much as he wanted to bite her and turn her into his minion from what I can tell.
Frank was counting on being able to control Joey. Killing Abigail as non-vampires wouldn't help as they were trapped and didnt know how to escape plus other vampires were likely coming so killing her is basically a death sentence. Though I would say it wouldve made much more sense for Frank to cooperate with Lambert or any of the people to take Abigail's offer

Vampire wouldn't be affected by a sedative. She's undead.
Vampires wouldn't need to feed either if they're undead.
In the story Let The Right One In. The vampire is affected by drugs. She attacked a cancer patient. They were taking a heavy dose of morphine.
I mean...I wouldn't call someone on Google maps duty a hacker either... but here we are lol
They aren't undead, they are immortal.
@@buttarain27 Vampires are undead in most fantasy scenarios, including Dracula and Carmilla, the OG vampire stories.
Instead of having the sedative work on Abigail the vampire (which doesn't make sense) the writers instead should have had it NOT work -- thus revealing that when they used it the first time Abgail merely pretended it worked because she was going along with the kidnapping as part of the trap.
Considering how easily she went along with EVERYTHING else they did to her to trap/harm/contain her, I'm guessing you're actually right and it didn't work either time. She was just continuing to toy with them.

Vampires can be just as honorable to their word as they are brutal. Some respond well to kindness, others abuse it. I think this set the stage that Abigail is not some ruthless killer. This isn't the first time she's been kidnapped, won't be the last time either. But she at least pays acts of kindness forward. (On top of that, removing her blindfold and changing the placement of her shackles gave her the space she needed to break free.)
@Polomance862 She broke down a metal door, tf do you mean? Abigail was just playing the innocent little girl act. She could've ripped the shackles off no problem
@@mattb6646 I mean from a writing perspective it's pretty decent, connecting Abigail's relationship with her dad and Joey's relationship with her son.

I was surprised how fun this movie was, definitely worth a watch
facts
What is the name of the movie
Abigail
I believe it's a setup that Abigail made to recruit Joey as her next Vampire guardian, as Lambert was tired of being an immortal and wanted to retire. So everything was setup this way to introduce to Joey what a true vampire is, and that they also keep their word. Vampires are old people who values loyalty and honor even when they are brutal, this is what they seek for a companion, it is hard to find. Even tho they have all the money and power, loyalty cannot be bought. So Abigail keeps looking for someone who is an overcomer like Joey, someone who keeps their word, and because she had a history of overcoming addiction she is unique and can't be glamoured or controlled by any vampire. She is of great value to the child vampire and is specifically chosen for this test because of her profile, a nurturing mother, an ex-addict, overcoming obstacles to go back to her child. She is exactly as Abigail wants as a pseudo mother. I think Abigail set this whole thing up as she is a master of deceit, she was never in danger to begin with. A very old vampire like that survived that long for their cunning and not merely for their power. If they are ever making a 2nd movie this is how I see this whole thing... Just a thought. I could be wrong.
@cheriluzvillanueva, this assessment would be a thoughtful sequel if the writers indeed had any true depth to them which even if everything was indeed as you surmised, these glaring plot hole flaws is difficult to over come:
While the sedatives probably did not work either time and was more than likely a part of the vampire (Abigail according to another thread's comment) toying with her meals; two things do not fit the traditional vampire lore:
1. A pulse. Unless the guy that checked "a pulse" on Abigail shortly after the kidnapping to ensure she was "fine" doesn't know how to check a pulse... let's assume he does, how would Abigail be able to fake a pulse?
2. Regenerating body parts like a lizard and especially that quickly. From the painting on the wall, it is indicated that Abigail might be a vampire for quite a while, similar to the little girl in Interview With A Vampire. And as a vampire does not "grow"/age, then the regenerative factor is utter BS. Not only is it utter BS, but for her arm to regenerate that quickly with no explanation as to why she could do this is absolutely BS. A vampire that cannot *GROW* does NOT regrow/regenerate a NEW BODY part. Unless it is a new Vampire species that has lizard genetics that is created in a freaking lab! Now that explanation I could get behind.
Also regardless of the new vampire guy being bigger than Abigail, Abigail has been around possibly for hundreds of years and thus should be STRONGER than a newly created vampire that has not fed on FRESH blood yet except for his sire's stale vampire blood while Abigail was well fed from the many members she has already consumed their blood. But if indeed the writers are as smart as you give them credit, then this was also a test to see whether any of the remaining party would strive to help or harm Abigail if from their perception Abigail could be overcome/killed. Joey was the only one that balked at kidnapping a child from the beginning. And even though the fear of Abigail's father helped kept her (Joey) in check, her son not being targeted because of her actions was a bigger deterrent for Joey not giving in to her natural human instinct which is survival at all cost even if the entity has the appearance of a child and is clearly not a child but a blood thirsty killer that plays with its food source (humans).
All in all, nice little recap, and the movie wasn't the most terribly from what I see of the recap, but the vampire lore was highly butchered on the parts listed above. The cross and garlic not working is nothing to cry over as this indeed seems like old wives fable for what is most likely a real danger to mankind being food sources for vampires that more than likely do exist even if they are not the sparkly type which I was never into either.
Feel good movie where a little girl (vampire) has fun with her food and while pleasing daddy who is mostly absent. Her food are nasty people who don't mind doing nasty things for money including kidnapping little ballerina (girls). The feel good part is the vampire still has MORALS and conscience more than the humans she killed and let go the only human that has a little morals herself. So in this regards, I watched the recap twice.

Honestly, pretty good resolution. The father didn't follow the evil vamp daddy trope and actually let Joey go. Abagail didn't do some sacrifice, but was close, but lived.
