"Looking out my backdoor", "Cotton Fields", "Fortunate Son", "Midnight Special", "Born on the Bayou", "Have you ever seen the rain".... OMG so many!!! Love em all. Dozens of hits!!

I was a huge fan of CCR when all this music first came out, and giving it a relisten on various reaction channels I have come to a whole new appreciation of their musicianship. I guess my young ears could appreciate the music, but were not yet sophisticated enough to appreciate each musician's contribution to the sound. Stu Cook was killing it on bass, and coupled with Doug Clifford's drumming, they made for a very solid rhythm section. John Fogerty was one of the most memorable and easily recognized rock and roll front men at the time, and one of the most talented. He's also still out there doing it, and still sounds great. CCR was my first favorite band, and my first album was "Cosmo's Factory", which I still own, and from which this single was released. Thanks for the memories, y'all.

This is one of the few songs that I love three
versions of the same song. I love Gladys Knight and the Pips version, Marvin Gaye's great version, and also love CCR'S version with the great bass line. Wow. What a song. 🔥😉👍

I've loved that song since I first heard it, and this was the first version I knew. Marvin Gaye's song is fantastic in either case. I really like the heavy bass line in CCR's rendition.

They really got into this one and the recording is as good as it gets . Way back the way I heard this in 1970 was on the radio during summer vacation off of school, high school, before I bought my first stereo turntable, and nice receiver I saved up for. Was blown away by this song they rarely played on radio stations as it was a long song. As soon as they started played it, I was jamming on it

Great reaction as usual, guys. That is what these reaction channels are all about! Giving folks a chance to experience great music from genres that they are not familiar with. Or, in this case, to hear legendary songs sung by artists that they haven't heard before. As far as CCR goes, you can't go wrong with any of their music. Unfortunately, CCR broke up when the Fogerty brothers developed a nasty case of sibling rivalry that they couldn't overcome. But, John went on to have a very successful solo career. While you are at it, how about diving into the group on Mel's shirt? They have had two singers with very unique sounds during their career. They also have a very heavy Blues influence to their music. But, they deliver it in, let's say, a much more energetic way.

I wouldn't say this is better than Marvin Gaye's version. But to me it is every bit as good, I can't pick one over the other. Equally great in my opinion! Love the reaction! By the way, the lead singer is John Fogarty.
