CCR is one of the few bands that never released a bad song.
Agreed! Their “B” Sides were better than most group’s “A” Sides! And Fogerty’s Voice is instantly recognizable and anything he does!
If they want to catch something, try “I Put a Spell on You “ Lightning Hopkins wrote the damn song and after He heard their version. He said it was theirs from now on!
100%
Cept when drummer bassist wrote a few
This is probably the radio-edited version. It was edited to shorten the song’s length, because the full version is probably about 8 minutes. Y’all should hear that version.
Oddly enough they created their own genre… bayou rock🤘❤️
That sounds 😎 cool Bayou rock😁
Great description some say swamp rock whatever they were awesome. I'm listening to music since 1958 and they still are my favorite group in 2024.
@@M68BI Yeah. And they were from Berkely. Amazing band.
Bad Moon Rising/Proud Mary were huge hits.
There is a longer version of this you should check out. CCR had a ton of hits - As Long As I Can See the Light, I Put A Spell On You, Travellin' Band, Born on the Bayou, Fortunate Son, Green River, Lodi, Bad Moon Rising, Proud Mary and many more!
Man CCR is in a class of their own 🖤🤤
What a fabulous time I had with this reaction(s). I bet you might know the tune, "Fortunate Son" it has been in several movies and was one of the "anti-Vietnam" songs.
Down on the corner is another one I think she’d love. Great reaction guys!
Yep. My arm hairs still stand and salute. Great music
You need to go down the CCR’s rabbit hole. Proud Mary, Fortunate Son, Bad Moon Rising, etc.
If you like the old gospel sound, then you have to listen to their song, "As Long as I Can See the Light"
by far my fave version of this song! ♥
"People say you hurt from what you see, not not not, from what you hear".
Yeah I picked up that mess up too.
She started out skeptical and was like wait what? By his 3rd note 😂 loved this. Great reaction guys
I always associate Creedence with Vietnam era which I lived through in the 70’s via black & white tv but the horrible bloodshed was very painful to watch which we got to see every day via the night news 😮😢❤
Nice reaction guys. CCR is nothing short of a legendary band, with tons of hits produced in a very short time span of 6 years or so. John Fogarty, the main songwriter, vocalist and lead guitarist (actually a multi-instrumentalist) has had a legendary solo career as well, still recording and touring to this day. Check out their/his catalogue….you’ll be glad you did.
Their music was more like Cajun music then southern rock, people sometimes thought that they were from the Bayou, when they were from Southern California. They captured the sound perfectly.
Yes true/ but these boys hailed from El Cerrito- next door to Berkeley!
This was back when we all loved each other.. and the music was amazing!
Oh please. No true at all. People were just as divided then. We just didn’t have social media for you know every time someone is upset about something. People always trying to throw this false narrative out there that we were a united happy world. 🙄
Raised on this band, along w doors, meatloaf, eddie money and many more. Love you mom and dad.
A must listen to would be i put a spell on you by these dudes😊
born on the bayou, i put a spell on you, proud mary, down on the corner, fortunate son are more great songs by them. btw they were from california
CCR was from the San Francisco area in California.
They have so many great songs, Born on the Bayou is another great song by them.
Hey! I like that one too. I think it was used on one of the movies “swamp thing”
Immediate thumbs up for swamp thing reference!
You may want to listen to the original records to hear unedited versions. I enjoy your reactions 🎸
Ok thanks! Glad you enjoyed. Continue to watch
Great cover of a great song
I like the 11 minute version of heard it thru…
checkin in...
If you want to go to church check out CCR doing As long as i can see the light!
You should do the full, long version (about 9 or 10 minutes).
The band is actually from San Francisco.
What?! Wow!!
This Band was part of the soundtrack to the Vietnam War
Run through the Jungle
Fortune Son
Listen to them
They've got a 12 min version of this.
This song was first done by Marvin Gaye, and Gladys Knight. This is CCR’s cover of the song.
You missed the rest of the awesome guitar solo in the full version. BTW, John Fogerty, the guy who was singing, also wrote "Proud Mary". Also, they're from the Bay Area in Cali.
Another awesome reaction video from you guys and gals!
Thank you so much. Keep watching
John Fogarty the lead singer wrote 'Proud Mary's and the band released it in 1969. Tina Turner later covered it and made it a mega hit.
@richardwhite801 thankyou for the info👍🏾
I’m imagining them performing that song and it makes a lot of sense.
The band's sound was described as swamp rock but the guys were all from San Francisco. This was an edited version of CCR's rendition.
If you like that rasp, check in on Stevie Nicks. She's extraordinary.
This song was also done by Marvin Gaye and Gladys Knight and the Pips.
😂 if youve heard any vietnam war era movie the chance is you've heared these guys in the sound track ...
They absolutely have.
The longer version is on the Chronicles album
This is a cover version of a Motown Records song previously recorded by both Gladys Knight and Marvin Gaye.
no its the original
I agree 😁
@@darrentoon5332
No, its not. Gladys Knight & the Pips was the 1st release, then Marvin Gaye also released a cover, as well as several other artists.
Love CCR🔥🔥
Born on the Bayou❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥
Check out “Born on the Bayou”
Will Do
@@BruceandCarla Make sure you get the full 5-minute version.
Good luck with your channel.
Thank you!
They also wrote and sang Proud Mary which Ike and Tina turned into a classic!
they are from Oakland Calif
Their sound was known as “Swamp Music” which was taken from the music of Dale Hawkins. They even remade his song “Suzie Q” .
There's a bathroom on the right 😆
tnks from brazil , im subscribe u welcome , im a headbanger but this cover > marvin original
The long CCR version of this song is better.
Marvin Gay wrote this song
He wrote allot of CCR's music
I didn't know there was a connection between Marvin Gaye and CCR. I thought CCR's songs were mostly written by their lead singer, John Fogerty. Where did you find that info?
Haha.
No, Marvin Gay was the second artist to sing this song. Gladys Knight and the Pips were the original.
I wish reactors wouldn't use the short version of this song. If you don't react to the full 11-minute version, you're missing the best parts.
Believe me, you've heard them, you've just never heard of them.
No disrespect bro but your girl is very pretty and has great Rock and Roll hair!!!
Thanks a bunch for the compliment on my wife's looks and her "Rock and Roll hair". She's always stylish, and we both appreciate the kind words. Hope you enjoyed the reaction.
@@BruceandCarla anytime! I just found your channel today and checked out your songs. I'm a rocker but I do love the old school stuff like Teddy P. Al Green, The ojays ,etc. Plus the old disco tunes. Shalimar brought me right back to rollerskating rinks in the late 70s. I like the mix you got going. If it's 60s ,70s and early 80s I'm all in!
Hey, I'm really glad you found the channel and gave the songs a spin! Your taste in music is solid - nothing beats the classics like Teddy P., Al Green, and The O'Jays. And those disco tunes, especially Shalamar, bring back some serious roller-skating rink nostalgia from the late '70s. I'm stoked you're into the mix of 60s, 70s, and early 80s jams. Let's keep the good vibes rolling together! 🎸🕺🎶
Or just CCR
CCR was called "swamp rock" (see their album "Born on the Bayou"), & more bluesy than other so-called Southern rock groups. But, they're from California, & said the word "heard" like "hoid", very Brooklyn-ite. Go figure.
Yeah, the way they pronounce words made me think they were from the south
Why you only play half
Hate this shortened/edited version. Cuts out a lot…but good reaction
just call them ccr
As a drummer who grew up listening to 60's and 70,s music of all genres, I can tell you today's music sucks. Period.
