- You Must Apply In Writing If You Want To Fly Your Drone Or We May Bring It Down - DJI Mini 2
Today I paid a visit to the historic site of Beatson Clark in Rotherham, and at first they were not happy to see me.
I was told that I cannot fly my drone and they may bring it down if I do, and also I had to apply in writing to fly lol
Please enjoy the video

A brilliant take down.
He went from "No. You won't be flying your drone over our building" to " We aren't trying to be obstructive" to "Like I said, we just want to be included"
All the while getting redder and redder trying to save face in front of his receptionist.
Don’t you just love the ignorance of staff talking about something they no nothing about I wonder if they would attempt to bring down an aircraft the stupidity of there answer
Excellent comment.
@@stuartbrown8259 apart from the complete lack of punctuation and spelling know as no.
The Next Top Gun movie should just be PJ flying drones over industrial sites avoiding the staff trying to shoot them down lol.
@@kevh6948 Grammar police in the house? Who cares. It's legible.
It would be a great shot to fly through the factory, warehouse and even the furnace area. Would look well dramatic.😎
Credit to the gentleman for being able to swallow his pride and let himself be open to new information. Takes a lot to admit you might not be right these days and he was obviously proud of the heritage of the works. A very interesting place it is, too, thanks Pete, enjoyed it.
still threatened to smash pj's drone whilst grinning smugly
I still marvel at these drones and the clarity of the film and the maneuverability
The Hi-Viz 'Magical Cloak Of Knowledge' 🤣 🤣 🤣
Too many people who don't know anything about a subject, think that they do.
I think the bald guy was actually alright, just a bit bewildered at first because I think he thought you wanted to fly it from inside the yard.
If we all had the opportunity to enforce legislation that we *just make up* on the spot for any given situation because we feel it must be real. What fun.

He worked it out pretty quickly and turned out to be very nice and professional.
nice and professional? 🤡
he was running his mouth and threatening violence to the drone. with an insinuation of violence against pj
This guy needs to read up on the law regarding flying unmanned aircraft. To bring an aircraft down is against several laws including - endangering an unmanned aircraft - criminal damage - if they did and the drone damaged property or caused injury whoever brought it down would face further criminal charges. Should they use a firearm then they would face further firearms offences and no doubt the police would revoke any firearms licence.
I know you think you are being clever but the guy was correct. By law PJ Audits has to have a licence to fly these drones. You know why? Because he earns money from youtube, not a lot but he earned money. So he falls into 'for the purposes of commercial operations'' which requires a CAA licence.
@@garyfrench6536 Would you care to quote the section of the CAA Cap722 regulations where a sub 250g drone operated for any purpose requires a drone pilot to be licensed????
@@kalpat5753 exactly ! what you got here is a case of people who think they know what they're talking about but " they don't
flying a drone over anywhere except restricted airspace ie prisons , airports
The rest is not against the law
But how many of us know the law of the land in every circumstance, if we did there would be a lot of poor Lawyers, Solicitors etc.
Makes no sense to revoke someone of their firearms licence for using their firearm. What's the point in owning a firearm if you can't use it, because doing so would get your licence revoked? Laughable. The laws in this country are on their ar5e.
Thank you PJ for this video with great drone footage. Well done.
That chap you was talking to was a complete gentleman. He was willing to listen to you pj. Well done chap 😀💯👍👍.
I love the way they think they know the law, but they haven’t a clue.
A proper gentleman and interacted with you proffesionaly. Oh, and Pete get a hair cut. ✂️🤣🤣
GREAT AS ALWAYS! THANKS FOR THE GREAT LOOK AROUND AND THE PROCESS WITH INFORMATION! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😁
🌻💛🌻
Good work PJ. Many of these people in these videos have become obsessed with 'following the rules' - even when it is not correct. This mentality has become widespread in the last couple of years.
Wish more people were like this guy, he was able to climb down and listen to what you had to say.
Became an informed and grown up discussion.well done to you both👍
that old coward was running his mouth and threatening violence to the drone. with an insinuation of violence against pj you mug
@Jason Voorhees the only mug here is you, running your mouth. Hope mummy takes your phone off you.
Hi PJ you handled that situation brilliantly hopefully the guy took on board what you said and goes and educates himself before he ends up with a prison sentence for bringing down an aircraft .all the best keep it up 💪🙏
It would have be funny seeing him try to bring it down. Swinging a broom at it and throwing some rocks at it and hitting his colleague’s cars instead.😂
That was a great video & the project guy actually listened & took on board what you told him PJ, enjoyed that one keep em coming!!
I wouldn't bother informing them if that's the sort of reaction you get.
People like grandad are the kind of people I'm used to! No problem with other people who aren't bothering anyone! Stay safe and strong.
I always laugh when people say "You're not allowed to do that".
"Why not"
"Because you're not allowed".
So if you hire a Cessna 152 and take a camera up,fly over their premises, they will take you down? I don’t think so.
Great video @drone footage keep em coming stay safe 👍👍👍👍👍
Ha ha ha , I have a vision of him dressed up as Del Boy at the clay pigeon shoot with his sawn off shotgun 🤣🤣
😂
Love the friendly guys at the start! "does it tickle when he kisses ya?" "yeah" 😂😂😂😂
You handle this brilliant love your work mate
That bald bloke is hilarious ! Making up rules and legislation like he has some kind of authority. So funny how he feels he can tell members of the public what they can and cannot do.
What a funny, misguided man….
Oh hang on …sorry ! Sorry !
He’s wearing a hi viz vest! Hes almighty! All is forgiven . Pete, you
Need to bow to his authority Immediately!
@PJ Audits
Good video Pete, he did not unrstand the differance between the differant types of drones, but he at least was taking what you were telling him on board.
PJ, another great video , i noticed the kerb stones you filmed when you pointed out the odd glass spillage. Those are REALLY old curbing stones, maybe where the original part of the plant was?? Take care duck
That project must be managing itself - if his knowledge and abilities are anything to go by. 😎
Wow loving it
There's some right nice people working there, I would work there if i had the experience in working with glass. Well done chap's. 💯👍.
PJ, I’m 10 years your senior. I do remember you a year ago, where some videos, (on occasion) I heard you huffing and puffing. You are definitely getting more exercise now. I like that. Healthy heart.… And a good heart, too. 🌺
The worker at starts dancing was funny . Great view from above tho
Smashing 👍
What a nelly would not trust him to operate a yo yo let alone let the blighter loose with a firearm
That’s one huge site. Very interesting.
All in all very good representatives for the company well done to all the employees recorded
So he made a threat of violence against Dread Drone. Nasty man. Although to be fair he was willing to learn.
Your a true gentleman pj ,a proper bloke, come to hull there's some world large distribution centres here, if you do let us know 👍
It’s so pleasant when you meet rational decent thinking and well behaved people! (Quite understanding many are skeptical, it’s ok!)
Thumbs up!
😂 was that pun intended when you said Smashing plant
He certainly climbed down after a while.
When he realised he had no clue what he was talking about.
Nice one PJ
Respect dood👍🇮🇪
They make me laugh these people who think they know the law and when you ask what law they not got a clue.
Orange hi-vs was a completely different character once he'd backed down. 🤣
Obstructive at the start, but was willing to learn. Seemed like a nice guy
I am here to get a reaction from workers !
Might be an answer to some of the internal staff querying the reasons, mention several companies take up the offer to have some aerial footage sent back as a token gesture of thanks for the chat/tour/background info etc.. , and perhaps the "chimney" guy had a heavier drone?? plus taking off from WITHIN private premises?? Anyway PJ.. always good to watch..
That is an out and out terroristic threat. Bringing down a aircraft is a chargeable offense.
1st bloke was a gem
I drove past there today and was thinking you should go to this place.
Someone who knows body language analysis will have a field day with this guy in reception how he absolutely melts away eventually from being confrontational to super submissive after PJ puts him straight 😊!
PJ call back. When people walk away PJ asks them something else so the have to walk back. Every time. 🤣🤣🤣
There ignorance could in theory lead to offences committed
You talk about ignorance but don't know the difference between there and their. Bravo.
One day you will find a manager that says, Great, Go for it
He was a bit uptight at first but ultimately you calmed his fears and he was reasonable.
I want to work in the glass recycling industry I've heard it's a smashing career.
It's not all it's cracked up to be; sometimes it's a right pane!

Area 5, I'm guessing area 51 is just up road like 🤪👍❤️🇬🇧
I really like the way you handle situations and people, also the fact that you're not frightened to show yourself. Unlike your mate DJ who walks around with sunglasses, cap and full face covering. Yet he preaches he has the right to film folk from a public place but hates the fact that anyone would recognise him, possibly because he's also confrontational. Which is why I watch you instead of him.
Also he's easily recognised by his "Girly" voice.
Maybe get yourself a screen shade!? Cheaper option to a tripletek tablet!
He looks like DJ smile! lol!
I am sure I could hear the handrail saying 'let go of me' Haha
Hi P J, this chap in the office was yet another one who thinks he knows the law but actually has got it all wrong!, it is just another example of the assumptions people make and share with each other and until it is actually challenged!. When this does happen it goes one of two ways, either. like this one the people will actually engage in sensible dialogue and in the end accept correction, the other way is the common resort to anger and aggression which often ends badly.
To some extent I think the way you engage with them helps a lot to start with, while other more obstreperous individuals might just assert their rights for the sake of the argument, this can be quite entertaining but I think this way, the way you are doing it is actually much more productive as well as being more interesting.
There is no doubt that they were both a bit nervous to start with they were a lot more relaxed at the end of the encounter, very good work!.
I would not be surprised if you find you get a few new subscribers!.
Cheers, Richard.
🤣 I really wonder why these people are so afraid of camera's en drones... keep up the good work. 👍🙏🙌
Mr king in the orange vest the boss the Don the man who do these sad ego maniacs think they are..you need permission off them to breath air..p....off. im not having it..but saying that the guy was ok in the end after watching it all..fair play..well done..
Probably best these guys get some knowledge on the drone stuff. But there decent fellas. Most people are really.
James freeman is on a good rampage🇮🇪
Pete if ya mess with a drone ie bring it down it is classed the same as if they did it to an airliner mate and that is very serious tell em next time mate even the threat of it is a serious issue.
At least this chap wasn’t swearing and shouting .
What in the world makes you think i need to explain anything to you? I'm only TELLING you what I'm going to do out of courtesy.
These people who say no you can't fly over, do they have a melt down when a plane fly's over head and start calling the airport.
Good to see the Oompa-Loompas secured jobs after Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.
Bet they thought they would be unemployable, obviously not! 👍
Hi PJ, you've said at least twice that your drone is £250 grand when you probably mean £2,500, anyway I think the grumpy man in the reception finally lightened up and calmed down.
I wouldn't even notify them, unless you want the confrontation with the staff people.
Looks big site amazing what see drone things we wouldn't see if you didn't do these videos
❤
Seeing as you often fly out of sites that have a lot of debris on the ground, you risk contaminating your drone's motors, shortening their working lives and therefore adding to your operational expenses. Hand launching and landing is a useful and not too difficult skill to aquire, that you may want to consider in order to prolong the life of your equipment and also to introduce a little more panache and extra interest for your fans to admire, and would be an extra challenge for you to develop and show off your piloting skills. How about it PJ? Thanks for your vids.
what a word salad
@@Hannah-pk6iq A ' _word salad_ ' normaly refers to a disparate collecton of text that has little relevance to anything. I earned a very beneficial living as a non-fiction writer for several decades, living on multiple continents, yet was born in Bradford. The point of your punctuation-free comment, assuming it had one, was...?
Always had launch and land. Convenient and makes the drone seem even more harmless to members of the public.
@@johnd.ingleson799 There you go again!! stop it
@@johnd.ingleson799 awesome response 👊🏻😎👍🏿
Hello l new from Stoke on Trent
PJ as in PJ and Duncan
I suppose, unless it’s classed as a sensitive or classified area - such as a military base - drone flying over any area is not illegal?
Unless there's an airspace restriction you can fly where you like. And overflight of private property so long as it's at a height that doesn't interfere with the landowner's reasonable enjoyment of the land or structures on it is neither trespass nor nuisance. This was established in the case of Bernstein v. Skyviews and later codified in the Civil Aviation Act 1982.
PJ you should have told him that if it drops on someone’s head they will get a lump sum !!!
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
I still don't understand why these people wear orange vests inside an office !
Hi PJ when you going over to Barnsley to video ASOS ?
No idea mate 😊😊
@@PJAuditsI throughly enjoy watching your videos.
I wonder how he envisaged bringing the drone down? Maybe they've got an anti drone shotgun in the office. Don't you love it when they explain why you're not allowed to do something by saying "because you're not". Next they'll say there's two reason s why you can't fly a drone. One is because it's wrong and two is because it's not right.
Same shit here in the uk
Where is this man’s logic, seems to be missing something, like what the law is. He does not control the airspace does he. To say he was going to bring it down is, breaking many laws. Well done for putting this man in his place with a lot of patience. Nice of you to talk sensibly to him, where you could have just told him he is an idiot and walked away and did it anyway. I hope that man learnt something from you PJ. Keep them up.
Are people automatically supposed to know drone laws or something? Are people born with this superpower?
@@sherbert500 no, they are not, but what they are supposed to do, as well as the police should, is if you are going to challenge someone who uses one, check what the laws are before opening your mouth to them. In this day and age with the internet on your phone it is very easy check it and anyone with common sense tells you that in this country the airspace is controlled by the CAA, not them.
This guy is totally ignorant about what your telling him about you flying your drone over his factory.
When you advised him that the guy from his company who his boss allowed to fly his drone over the he works should’ve done so because his drone was not legally allowed to be flown over the premises because of its size, he looks a bit bewildered and yet he is still not fully agreeable after half a hour talking to him, that he is fully happy about you flying your drone over his premises.
I would have said thanks and good bye, I’m going to fly my drone now.
TWENTY FOUR SEVEN. AS WE SPEAK. BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!
Receptionist sounds too "singy" on the phone! I'm one myself and I can tell you that it definitely is too easy to fall into a singsong pattern while answering the phone as you're saying the same thing all day every day.
Omg he obviously needs some catching up on the laws ,honestly
He had no clue at all. And he knew it as soon as you started arguing against him
I love how right people think they are 😆
whats he dribbling on for
The comment on how were you going to get it back if it landed on their property, it would be theft if they didn't give it back, simple!
PJ you are incorrect about GDPR. GDPR applies to biometric data as well as what you describe as bank details etc. GDPR prohibits the processing of biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying natural persons. Biometric data is personal data resulting from specific technical processing relating to the physical, physiological or behavioral characteristics of individuals. Kind Regards
IF the drone is 250g or more, different rules apply.
