Today I visit the cleanest recycling yard I have ever been to. The place was spotless, and I really mean spotless.
The staff here were very good once the got used to the idea of a man with a camera filming the yard, and the lady was really nice :)

The honesty and general integrity of that lady is very rare. The warm personality comes through even over the Internet. Coupled with the neatness of the yard... she could be Captain of a ship for sure.
@Dalescott - I imagine your post was made before watching the end of the vid when she speaks so badly about her family. Why would she do that with a perfect stranger knowing he’s recording her every word?
@@distrust9404 I watched the full thing before commenting and it was the honesty there too which I liked. Advising they were cagey of PJ as there is a family dispute and they were worried he was working for them.

If the lady is reading this, just note what the police told you is wrong. PJ is most definitely allowed to fly a sub 250g drone over your site and its perfectly legal to do so.
Most police do not know the drone laws themselves which is why there are so mnay auditors out there.
Especially if she called 999 or 101. A police constable's knowledge of the law should be taken with a pinch of salt. A civilian police call handler's knowledge of the law should be taken with a whole salt mill.
Spot on Michael, they do not own the airspace. Always like watching PJ, leave him enjoy his retirement he has lived his life and done his bit, keep em coming PJ ..
Thats right in fact the vast majority of police officers know nothing about any laws-how can they when it takes lawyers 5-7 years to learn the basics of uk law, and police cuntstables are let loose on the streets after a few weeks of training on the the law...

Split screen is an excellent way of showing the two sides of a conversation simultaneously. Since unlike some other auditors you're not against showing your image it brings the exchanges to life. More please!

A sweetheart who slags off her family on camera unprompted. Looks aren’t everything!
Strange that, totally unprompted, she told a complete stranger about her family’s financial dispute, especially after being so reluctant to be filmed at the beginning. It was like she forgot that every word was being recorded for CZcams.

Hi P J, this first encounter with one of the workers is a good example of typical 'normal' person who does not understand why anybody would want to do what you are doing, this does not justify any hostility and he is ok really. The next ones also seems to be able to be realistic, I wonder if they understand that all or any member of the public has legal access to the weigh-bridge, one of the conditions for that licence enshrines open access to it.
The third man is more nervous than the others, he also is so unfamiliar with what you are doing and his anxiety drives his behaviour, you do your best to settle him and that is more than anyone can expect.
The young woman returns and very sensible, she tries to explain that the others there may be a bit sensitive because of their own issues, she appears to have been mis-informed by the police because you can fly these little drones almost anywhere. There could be times when if you cared to you could explain that the app, you use to fly the drone is connected to the system so that any CAA restriction stops you from flying over it, if there is no restriction on the app then it is lawful.

Hi Mr J, throughout my early working life when I was more involved in shifting heavy loads I did use public weigh-bridges from time to time and was told by the operators that not only were they all open to the public but no charge was levied for the use of!, it is now several decades since I did that last and new laws might be now in place, next time I take a load of scrap in I will ask.

Great to see a recycling plant that is immaculate. We all remember going to scrap yards for car bits which were like old oil fields. Great credit to the team at the plant. Ex Donny lad now down under. I used to work at the glassworks you did and enjoyed seeing the talk with young Mick (HSE) who's probably now retired.😊

The only downside to this great video is that the Police told her that Pete is not allowed to fly the drone over their yard. As we all know, as long as it's not within controlled airspace or over a prison, it's perfectly legal. Thumbs down for the misinformed cops!

The police should never have told her that misinformation. She was a lovely lady in both manner and looks. Don’t ever do that at K Anderson’s metal recyclers, they would put you through the car crusher. Great video PJ.

Happiness has no bearing upon flying a drone perfectly legally in unrestricted airspace. Just tell your boss to read up on CAA regulations and that might make them happy.

Mad that they were fretting about you filming and taking drone footage. They all came across really well, the premises are an absolute credit to them, and you can see they actually care about what they do. Strange how this paranoia pervades so many perfectly good companies.

Good staff there,if anything maybe the young lad could get a bit more clued up and the older guy who was struggling to get it,,lady was lovely and overall they were all very nice, especially after the lady being so honest which she didn't have to do. Definitely super clean, the company should be proud of themselves and your video will show that.
