- Painting A-TAC IX camp on an ar-15 sopmod! It’s a long tutorial and isn’t edited very well, but it shows everything you need and the techniques required! Feel free to ask any questions!
The colors are, field drab, Olive drab, Earth yellow, Earth brown, sand, flat black and olive green - Jak na to + styl
Probably one of the best paint jobs I’ve seen
@Lincoln Ransford weird flex but okay
Seconded
Agreed
I was thinking that exact thing ! Bravo . Finally someone who understands the assignment .
agreed
I just finished mine using your technique. Came out amazing. 👍. Used my own colors to match these woods out here. Almost lost my gun for a second.
😂
I am getting ready to paint my AR and I have probably watched 75 videos so far.... When you painted the black stripes, Ithought this is gonna suck. I almost turned it off. But I didn't.... And this is my gun. I am doing this to mine. WELL DONE. Thank you
The sponge technique does an excellent job of breaking up this hard lines. Nice job, great camo!
Hands down the best rifle paint job I’ve ever seen. Can’t wait to try it.
Most intricate rifle painting video I’ve seen and I watched til the end. This rifle is the definition of camouflage one of the best designs I’ve seen.
This is just about the best gun painting tutorial I've seen. Results look fantastic. Thanks for sharing
The best paint job I've ever seen on an AR Platform.
Wow this is definitely the best approach I’ve seen so far. And I am in construction for 37 years and know all about sponge painting and didn’t even think about that myself. Genius
Seriously one of the best camo jobs Ive ever seen!
this is got to be the best paint job I have seen. Well done!
Didn’t think atacs could be replicated as a pattern for painting a rifle but you hit it dead on! Was getting ready to do mesh pattern on my rifle but gonna have a go at this. Nice job!!!
Did you end up trying this? Curious how non professional attempts turn out
I did not. Ended up doing my own take on mesh and this concept with no sponge and turned out pretty well. Ended up doing my scope and red dot as well. You start to get the hang of it after the first few passes.
It's funny how mixing the paint never occurred to me, when it's so obvious. :) It looks great.
Picking the right sponge is key. I used a dish washing scrub and the sponge "holes" or gaps were too close and it didn't look near as good.
Probably one of the absolute best paint jobs on a rifle Iv ever seen
Damn, that's as close as you can get it without hydro dip!! Awesome job!!
Small precautions but I highly recommend taping the trigger/ trigger hole, plug your barrel with a foam ear plug and tape your scope lens even if you have a flip up cover over it. Looks great! Well done.
…yep. I do a LOT of prep work PRIOR to any paint hitting them. Trigger pins, FSP..just detail work that THEN makes the paint scheme “POP”..
I painted my old weatherby a few years back and it was awesome but I broke the entire rifle down and taped off anything vital
This is honestly genius. Sponge. Never tried that before. Thank you, will definitely use that
Awesome work!!! This is what's missing from 95% of paint videos.....a REFERENCE!! Everyone just wings it, u nailed this!!
Dude is the rifle paint whisperer.... Like watching Picsso work.... Nicely done sir.
Yeah, this is by FAR the best ‘rattle can’ RIFLE camo job on y/t, period. I’ve done 2 AR’’s so far..1 of mine and 1 of my son’s AR’s. Proud of both and it did take some time to get my sons ‘right’, although it wasn’t what he initially wanted. HE WANTED “ATACS” and I couldn’t figure out a way/and hadn’t seen anyone do it. VERY nice job! I’ll give this a try, just have to figure out WHICH is going to get painted..
Did mine last week I’m very happy with it
Looks super good. I would have stopped after step 3, but that's just my taste. One of the best paint jobs I have ever seen!
I wrapped my f150 in A-TACS fg back in 2013 and did this exact same process for the frame, valve covers, intake and interior panels for added detail
Not sure if I’m able to fully express how much this SLAPS. Amazing
This is the best weapon paint job I’ve seen on youtube
Just love your work! The best paint job I've seen.
This is probably the best rattle can camo paint job on CZcams
Very nice job! I think that's the best A-tacs paint job I've seen done using spray paint.
I've view a dozen or so videos on how to camo an AR and this is the one for me. thanks so much!
Best I've ever seen, unreal job.
What a paintjob. It looks so nice
That looks sick. You did a hell of a job on that. Was gonna keep mine stock till I saw this, now Im gonna have to paint it. :D
Absolutely a fantastic camo application
Way better than the rest of the paintjobs I've seen on youtube, thanks for sharing the sponge idea.
Looks amazing! I might have to try your techniques on my AR-15 soon. Great job!
You really did an excellent job. One of the best I’ve seen. 👍🏻
Excellent video. This is the best rattlecan job I've seen by far. Thank you.
I love it! Best camo paintjob I have ever seen! Might try it out
what a crazy job, well done.
Awesome work! Great content. This has given me some great ideas. Thank you
Looks good!! I keep coming back to this one.
Abosultely Incredible job man. I love the tiger stripe design and colors, simply one of the coolest camos in my opinion.
Wow. I’ve been planning on doing a few of mine in ATACS FG. I leave out the black and I think I’m there with what you did. That use of the sponge was key. Really gives it the dimension that ATACS has. Thanks for sharing this.
I’m planning on using this to do a cross between ATACS AU and FG, where it’s a bit more AU but the greens work well in my mountain desert area.
The best I have seen so far!
Excellent patience and proficiency, satisfactory!
Genius man. Way to kill it with creativity and talent.
Definitely a video that you can smell it through your phone lol. Looks awesome guys
That turned out amazing.
Incredible. Thanks for posting
Wow… unreal man. Looks amazing
Looks amazing, definitely going to try my hand at this!
Absolutely great job ..best I seen done yet!
Bro that turned out amazing, nice job!
Definitely one of the. Nicest paint jobs. Definitely going to have to use some of these techniques
This was the best video I’ve seen for truly camouflaging a gun; next to someone in airsoft showing how to affix a net to the gun, to weave in real brush from surroundings: and proved by display, the best form of hiding in plain sight.
This is the second best I’ve seen, and it’s always read to go. 🙂👍🏼
My only recommendation (that I learned from an airsoft video) is to highlight the natural dark areas from sun, and add darks to the natural highlighted spots from sun. This will break up the natural affects of light dispersion.
Which video are you talking about? Got a link?
Biohawk1 here’s the video:
czcams.com/video/dRbopmqAcYU/video.html
It’s super long, but covers everything he does (tips & tricks) on camouflaging everything of him - his vest, hat, face, rifle, gloves - everything; and he give principles of how to apply to everything.
Go to time 44 minutes 50 seconds, for his demonstration on the rifle. It’s short, because he explains everything prior on principles.
I watch in 1.5x speed. 👍🏼
best job i have seen yet! great work
Gonna paint an AR for the first time. Watched a lot of videos. This is the paint style I like best.
Definitely the best rattle can spray job I’ve ever seen mad props man imma be copying this soon
Probably the best camo pattern. Slick job
Looks killer, nice job!!
YES! That's awesome. I'm going to have to save this video so it doesn't go missing on me when I'm ready to my own.
That is absolutely amazing dude.
That was killer , I’ve been trying to get ideas and so far that’s by far the best
It looks great Mr . Ross 👍
WOW you did a wonderful job
Yep ! That's pretty badass brother. Gonna do this the same way u did on a spare p365 frame that a pro shop screwed up on. Thank you for the video.
Wow! I must admit that I was a bit sceptic at first but you really won me over! Great job!
AMAZING work!
Holy hell!! What a great job you did!
One of the best paint jobs I have seen. Just need the 123 listed!!
nicely done brother! great job.
Wow, that looks legit. Well done
Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks
This is just great - thanks a lot for sharing!
That came out badass!
Amazing job fellas - keep up the good work
Absolutely incredible! I’m gonna do the same but probably won’t come out nearly as good as yours!
Camo done right. Great job.
That is the sickest gun paint job I've ever seen
Hell yeah dude looks good 👍 thanks for sharing.
It looks excellent, but man if I found out someone was spraying earth tones next to my freshly pained red car I'd be pissed lmao. Sweet paint job tho
Got me rethinking sponge daubing. Looks great... I was afraid you were going to end up with mud but silly me, she's badass. Thanks for sharing your technique🍻
This is so good! Thanks for the video!
Awesome work!! 😎
SIC Brother!! Great pattern. Great work!
Fantastic work
That is cool thanks for sharing. I really like your way.
That sponge takes it to another level
Looks great!
wow that came out great !
Wow, came together way better than I expected. Definitely going to put this one in the bank, may try this on one soon.
Best I've seen on CZcams. My buddy did a jungle camo rattle can job that turned out almost as good as this
The ATACS patterns are pretty sharp. I’ve never thought of painting my AR that style. When I get a new ammo can I camo it up. Great work.
Man you are an artist
Damn that turned out good!
Yep adhesion promoter is a must especially if you’re painting any polymer accessories
One of the best on CZcams!
The result is awsome dude. It's obvious that you're mastering the arts of spray painting! Nice job, really! ;- )
Man, I'd be scared spraying that black so close to that fresh red hood haha. 😂
Gun looks great!
Looks great.
THAT is a nice camo job. Waaay better than the quick laundry bag method. Nice work.
