    1:29 doesn't matter if it's soft or not, you should never be falling on your butt in a squared position, the weight of your torso is enough to compress the lumbar vertebrae against the sacrum and cause an important injury, you should always be falling with your back straight on the mattresses.

Also what I noticed she was covering her spine with her hands, not the coxix and when the dude went to massage her back she screamed even louder, I'm almost 100% sure it's a lumbar injury and that would suck really bad.

    The guy in the car that lost the breaks had at least two options. 1) Use the e-brake which is a mechanical connection instead of hydraulic and should always work barring other mechanical failure. 2) Throw it in reverse, grind that transmission to dust and hope it slows you down enough to minimize damage and possibly (however unlikely) even avoid collision entirely. Last resort longshots they may be but still better than doing basically nothing but swerving a little then picking the victim of collateral damage.

    • @kevinwaddle447

      Car had a sticking throttle that owner knew about before driving it. He was using his brakes to keep his speed down.
      This heated them up until they could no longer produce friction (brake fade) and he lost control.
      Emergency brake would not have worked either. Car community is pretty pissed off at the guy as this was not an accident, but, negligence.

      There is also usually the option of just turning the goddamn engine off when you notice you have lost control and then moving to the side off the road. Or, if you don't think you have space for that, after turning the engine off, just whip the damn thing sideways and let the additional contact trigger either a 'safeish' (at least for other drivers) roll or a more rapid stop in general.
      Realistically, guy driving was a complete moron no matter how you look at it.

    • @nocare
      @nocare Před rokem +38

      First is better than reverse. Reverse often just won't engage while in first you get the full drag of the engine braking which at high rpm is often just as strong as the brakes.

    • @sykessaul123
      @sykessaul123 Před rokem +48

      @@deusmortem9048 If you turn your gearbox into mush by throwing it into reverse, the throttle wouldn't be stuck anymore because the engine literally wouldn't be connected to the transmission to give any power to the wheels. The wheels being freespinning wasn't the issue there, the issue was the throttle was stuck and he was countering it by braking which heated them up as Kevin said above, making them completely ineffectual when he had to slow down for the lights. Dude should lose his licence imo, this wasn't just negligence, this was vast incompetence too.

      Solid advice . My Son is 15 , and im already teaching him this.
      2 Friends of mine were driving past our group of friends that were out on the town, the passenger friend said "put your foot on the clutch" , so he clutched , and then the passenger reefed on the hand break making it do a hella long skid . And with The clutch being in! it stoped the car from stalling .... and it just rolled past after he let off the hand break , it was funny as hell , but also good to know if the breaks go ...... so ... clutch - handbrake - stop!
      Also this was at 50kmh , if your doing 110kmh you need to ease it on or it could break or put you in a spin. Just put it out of gear , then ease it on a little bit at a time. A mechanic friend of mine told me about this , so ill take his word for it.

    1:22 The reason she hurts her spine here is because of the way she lands. Whoever was doing health&safety and or stunt-safety must have not done a thorough enough job explaining why you must land flat on your back. Or at the very least leaning backwards so the force "splats" your body outwards onto the mat. It's especially important if you're untrained.
    Notice she lands in an almost seated position and worse part of it all is that her spine is nearly perfectly straight. This means the force isn't being dispersed/absorbed by the back and or using spinal flexion. Instead all of the force is traveling in a near straight line down the spine, severely compressing it, which fucking hurts. This can be made even worse if she wasn't bracing the correct, or vice versa, bracing the wrong parts of her body.
    I'm not a professional but having been around gymnast equipment a decent amount, to me these mats are clearly stunt mats. Which are completely different from the mats you'll use in places like gymnast flip training or trampoline parks etc. Because of how they're made, stunt mats generally require a basic technique to use, especially at the height she's at. Or else what ends up happening is well... that.

    14:12 What do you do? If I remember correctly: If it is a stuck accelerator, shift to neutral. Apply the brakes at your discretion. Turn on hazard lights and make your way to the side of the road. Apply parking brake and shift to park if possible, take the key, and exit the vehicle if cars can still hit the vehicle. If you have flares or those LED hazard lights use them as per those instructions. Otherwise go to wherever is safest from oncoming traffic.
    If shifting to neutral fails, leave it in neutral and you can try shutting off the engine by switching over to accessories (ACC) in between "on" and "lock" on your key ignition. Be aware that it will probably shut off power steering which feels difficult to turn the steering wheel. Or it may lock your steering wheel altogether which means you need to put the key back to the "on" position or even start it up. Your specific car manual is a better resource here than me. You can also just ask the car manufacturer for the alternative way of stopping a stuck acceleration when shifting to neutral fails.
    If the breaks aren't working use the hand brake or parking brake slowly if possible to avoid skidding. If not, engage it and make sure your arms are not crossed over each other in case of the airbag going off in a crash.
    If your steering is electric, you have push button ignition, or push button parking brake, check your car manual. Again, you can also ask the manufacturer what to do for a stuck throttle or inoperable brakes for your specific car model and what happens or what do you lose, like loss of power steering, in each scenario.

    What you can do when your breaks fail or are not strong enough is shift down to a lower gear (if in Manuel ofc but most automatic transmissions have some way of downshifting). The kenetic energy of de car, aka momentum will force your rpms to skyrocket ofc but it will slow you down fast. It is ofc better downshift sequentially to not blow up your engine (not go from gear 5 to 1 but from 5 to 4 to 3,...). Also handbreak is an option ofc but in most cars they are not meant to stop the car.
    But breaking on the engine is a ligit way to break. In some countries they even teach it to new drivers because it is better for the environment (the engine does not use fuel or very little when breaking on the engine. (ofc it can wear out you clutch faster, for some people ofc)
    Not that the guy in the video had a lot of time.... Breaking of t
    he engine takes longer than the breaks ofc. Always test you cars breaking potential I guess. And first make sure it can stop before you make it go fast! Wisdom from my dad!
