Yeah, a real life hero talking in public about something so painful.
Inspirational good man.
+Heywood The fact that an actor like him has the courage to publicly talk about his addiction to protect people against alcoholism is the quality of a hero, a small act of heroism but heroism nonetheless, he doesn't need to wear a cape. He's sacrificing his private life and putting his reputation on the line to save others. Does it make him a historical hero? No, but what he does meets the criteria, sorry.
Fuck off with your self-righteous bullshit, you're just making a big fuss about it like an afflicted chimpanzee. The fact is that he's exposing a personal problem and has nothing to gain in return which means there is only one conclusion: he's only doing it for the people, which makes him a supreme hero and savior of the universe. Does it strictly follow the definition? Of course not for fucks sake. In the meantime what have you done? Jack shit.
Hey dipshit, is there only one criteria? Yeah i didn't think so, go home little boy.
Keep talking dipshit, i already proved my point so get that logic trough your fucking skull and get over it. Or cry me a river like the little bitchy you are because that's what you have been doing so far while dogding every legitimate argument i gave you!
and it's "your", not "you"re", i mean how fucking useless can you be? Just swallow your fucking dictionary already.
They should have called him back for T5 to remind him who he is. We'd all love him to come back.
I really hope he makes a cameo in T6 or T7. Maybe he can appear at the end of one of them and save Jai Courtney.
lol fuck jai courtney
Zenzi Sage I think he knows who he is. this proves it . he's a recovering alcoholic who has taken control of his life for his own good and his families. it takes a lot of courage to face your demons and be able to talk about it...even for a commercial . good for him !@
thank god he didn't come back to that piece of shit
@@wendyburke2210 well said. i respect your comment
totally underrated actor in my opinion
Kyle Reese is probably the coolest on-screen hero ever!
This is heartbreaking. Alcoholism is such a monster. I hope he's found peace.
I watch this a lot since I am going through alcohol abuse recovery.
hope ull recover soon boys. It's a big problem
hang in there ..it's so worth it !!
That camera work in this interview is enough to drive anyone to drink.
LOL
. . .love u MICHAEL . . . you are a badass on the screen . . . an underrated action super star
Somebody wake up Hicks!
EyeSpyTheSky if it comes to that i will do us both
All what we need now is a deck of cards
It's game time
Remember, short controlled bursts..
He's doing great now but this comment, oh man, just brought me to tears. Thanks Michael for being present in my time on this planet.
Michael Biehn was always a favorite of mine. Iconic actor !
So sad to see one of my childhood heroes reduced to this. Hope he’s doing better these days.
A beautiful man, indeed. He even came directly to *my* Facebook page to wish me a happy birthday yesterday. Such a kind, caring and GIVING man, and I will support him and all that he does to the end of my days. Love you, Michael!
to see one of my favorite actors, discussing their alcohol addiction, makes me really sad.
Bring this man back for Terminator 6. Linda Hamilton is already coming back. This guy is seriously a underrated actor , and a gem of the 80’s.
He's a good actor. I can totally relate with his alcoholism as I was a heavy alcoholic myself for many years.
i agree. they really missed the goldmine with Biehn. Handsome and talented and can show such raw emotion. I love this guy and I wish him so much success after all he has suffered. His haunted eyes brings me to tears to be honest.
I did not realise Michael was an alcoholic. He is a lot older now but there was always something else with his appearance that I wondered about - it seemed more than just age. He looked unwell, haunted almost. Maybe the booze explains it. Good luck to him and I hope he stays sober.
We still love you, Michael Biehn!
WTF...!!!! I did not know this...
On your feet soldier...on your feet..!!
Good to know you are well mate...!!!
Take care..!!!
I still love this man. Michael Biehn is the man.
I'm an alcoholic and I need help big time. And it's refreshing to see someone like this. Admiting to his problems while he is managing it as well.
I hope you’re doing ok now. Take care.
I wondered what happeded to him, I miss him in movies!
Still the best actor and still the sexiest man EVER!
shelley franco: What about James Franco?
Love Michael in The Terminator and Aliens. I really liked him in The Abyss too. Michael was really excellent as Mickey in The 2017 sci-fi movie The Divide
Hollywood seems to bring alot of these former alcholic actors back on track Robert downey Jr, Mickey Rourke and Nick Nolhte for example.
I would realy like to see Michael Biehn get his chance aswell he's so awesome:)
I can't help thinking Hollywood could provoke an alcohol problem in the first place.
I hope it all works out for Michael Biehn. He's a great actor and I wish him the best.
Michael, I've just quit after years of abuse. Thank you :)
Met him today. Such a legend
I have no idea what led him to drinking but maybe it had something to do with people always saying he didn't make it big? He was in some great movies, others not so much, everyone has ups and downs. Making it big has a lot more to do with being constantly in the limelight than with the actual work done. He's a down to earth and discrete kind of guy, which is one of the reasons I'll always like him. To me he's a lot bigger (and sexier) than "Everyone Knows Him, Still Can't Act Schwarzennegger".
Biehn needs to make a comeback!
One of my favourite actors ever, brilliant in every role. All the best to you Michael.
Whoa... That was very moving. All the more makes me realise how dangerous alcoholism can be. Both my parents are suffering the same problem you had.
Best of luck to you, Michael. One of my most favourite actors.
The cameraman was drunk
Jose Luis Cortez Marquez bhahaha
you got my love mr beihn
Biehn, you're a dude, and a good actor, and I admire your honesty and openness.
It brings a tear to my eye that this man who I loved seeing in movies when I was a kid had gone through all this. Good on him for getting out!
This video really inspires me. I think he may have relapsed for a while now, but I’m proud of him, and I look up to him.
This is just so sad. We love you Michael, don't give up hope.
You made classics stay strong
Well done Michael for getting sober. Must have been hell for you but you've come through it and even though it will be a struggle day after day....stay positive.
Wow, this was ten years ago. I hope he’s still sober and happy.
Sadly, the "he didn't make it big" is a constant thread wherever he's being discussed, both here and on imdb. People remember his roles but not his name and, in this celebrity obsessed world we live in, many tend to think that an actor's success is measured in how much he's talked about in gossip magazines. Of course, not everyone's like that and he does have fans who can remember and like both the roles and the actor.
It's total horseshit that you have to be in those disgusting tabloids like Brad and Angelina and the Kardashians or be on that stupid TMZ show with scandals and other bantha fodder to be considered "big". Michael Biehn has been loved by a huge audience of regular movie lovers since the Terminator in 1984. Sure, not every single movie he's in is a gem, but I usually enjoy most of them anyway. I'm queer and there are 2 movies I'm DYING to see him in: ST. SEBASTIEN and IN A SHALLOW GRAVE (not to be confused with the Danny Boyle film). Michael Biehn IS a big star, whether Hollywood acknowledges it or not. Who gives a shit about them. They were too stupid to recognise the utterly amazing performance he gave as Coffey in THE ABYSS, the one overlooked Cameron film. Biehn was not a villain in that film, he was a person suffering from a real medical condition, and the way he played it out from start to finish was heartbreaking. Next to his Kyle Reese in T1, I think Coffey from THE ABYSS is my 2nd favourite movie of his. He's a jewel.
I know! I still dont get why people say he is "Underrated." He was famous and still is. I remember him as a superstar.
Definitely one of my fav actors of all time and possibly underrated?
Don't know if he wanted or had the opportunity to play the leading man role but nonetheless a truly convincing action star which in my book is hard to come by.
I was in the same place for 12yrs. It's a hell of a thing when it gets a hold on you, but you find out what you're made of when you make the decision to quit and see it through to the end. Glad you got clean brother.
I am glad he is okay now.
Michael said that Johnny Ringo and Kyle Reese are his two favourite characters.Honest and sincere man here, took guts. Well remembered from Tombstone although his roles catalogue is huge. We can't judge people - all we can do is hope they'll survive and wish them well. He's just human, it is what it is.
“On your feet, soldier!”
He’s a true soldier.
On your feeeeeeet! MOVE IT!
Your true strength and your true character is shown by your positive attitude....I am so glad you have found balance
Corporal Dwayne Hicks aka Kyle Reese is the best
izidor Thx :D
So proud of this man. Underrated.
whats up with the "he didnt make it big" comments?? if he didnt make it big, we wouldnt be seeing him in this video. he was in several of the big grossing movies of the past 30 years. WAKE UP PEOPLE !!! Michael Biehn is a big time actor
Agreed!
Kyle Reese will always be the man!!!
good for you mike, I really enjoy your acting, you are a very talented, charismatic actor..
Sober 1 year but camerawork made me feel drunk
MB is awesome; one of my favorite 80's/90's action stars
I would suggest it’s probably not fair to speculate on his recent behaviour due to the fact he has had a stroke at some point in the last few years. I don’t know the severity of it but I would imagine that’s going to potentially mimic some of the aspects of drunken behaviour such as lack of coordination/memory issues/slurred speech etc. I would love to see him make a triumphant return to the movies but most of all I just hope he’s sober, happy and healthy.
Thank you Michael for your honesty and courage, all the best to you.
James Cameron should remember him in his Avatar trilogy. Come on, James. Help this guy bring life to his career.. We want him back!
Im glad to hear that! Yoy are an amazing man and it makes me happy hearing you were able to finally kick it.
Great Actor ! Great Human Being .
I like to keep this handy... for close encounters
"Heard that"
great actor, along with scott Wilson, real talent, believeable in their performances.
Congrats for the fantastic job Michael!!! Congratulations. Really admire you. Great man
we all go through addictions you can beat this you got fans that love your work an we rooting for you bro stay strong 💪
I didn't know he had such a bitter struggle with alcoholism. My heart goes out to him. I just appreciate it that he is more a gentleman than other actors who tend to ignore the punishing effects of alcoholism until it is too late for them to do anything. The example can be said for Lindsay Lohan. I hope he knows her.
One of The Greats. Always ready for a comeback.
My granddad Anton was a WW2 veteran.
A really fearless hero with strong will, had some medals.
Seen hell and whole lotta death.
And after the war got defeated by this evil. Alcohol.
I can't blame him, but this evil can break everybody.
Hold on Michael.
And good luck to others with this problem.
Watch this dude in Tombstone as Johnny Ringo. His most underrated performance and an underrated movie. Even Val Kilmer was great in that movie..
The thing about this is that this can happen to the best of us. Actors surgeon's lawyers anyone. What it comes down to what are you willing to do to help and save your self.
the best thing is that he made it now
Love your role in terminator your still one of my favourite actor
Long live wish to see you someday
Big fan of you
Micael biehn👏👏🔥😀😀😀😀
Yes! He's doing great now and looks very good. He is sober for a few years!!!!
I was with him at another location he didn't want to deal with it then and seems to be fighting it now have to accept it. Granted this was years ago hope how is better.
Awesome inspirational human being
At the moment I myself are kinda struggling...
It cost me a lot of problems and relationships...
Doing better now, but I need to stay focused and calm...
My step grandpa got an alcohol addiction and died because he had to have a heart valve replaced and it failed because he told the doctor he didn't drink at all. I'm glad Michael got off of his addiction before it killed him.
i....love...him !!!legend :-D
Now all we need is a deck of cards.
Wow...I wouldnt call myself an alcoholic, but when I drink, I DRINK. Still, this clip adds another dimension to this man who has played a hero in so many films. Whether or not he chooses to continue drinking, I wish him nothing but the best.
Fucking LEGEND!!!!
You are a good man michael biehn it takes a real man to put his hand up to his mistake. You Are The Resistance. Michael strike hard strike Deep.
His career path with James Cameron was particularly strange. Cameron gave him a nice, meaty male role in The Terminator, then proceeded to use him as a fallback actor in subsequent films. He was only given the Hicks role after James Remar was sacked for using drugs. Then he was relegated to villain status in the Abyss, even though he gave a fantastic performance in that film. I think he's right about his "crazy eyes" that sort of kept him from true leading man status.
How old was he in this testimonial? He still can articulate ideas.
I'm watching him very deteriorated in the Aliens' 30th anniversary vids.
I'm not trying to be an ass, I'm actually concerned by his current shape.
I met him 2 weeks ago... seemed to have problems on focus... writing seemed to be hard for him...Watched a clip of 2014 and he was a total different guy then...Maybe these are side effects of his age... maybe late side effects of his addiction...but i hope he gets over it..and hopefully another iconic role... All the best for you Mr. Biehn
I saw him about a month ago. Talked to him and he seemed in out of paying attention. Then I watched him walk to the restroom and he was walking all over people as if they wasn’t even there. He didn’t reek of Booz but something seemed off....
It looks like everyone knows him now... come on, leave the man alone .
@@AudieMarshProductions Maybe he was on meds or something. Damn this is really bad.
@ushireborn that is just ridiculous. he did 'make it'. just because his name is not a household word doesnt mean he didnt become a huge star. thats the way i see it
I agree!
you go Hicks!
@declannorton man i hate this comment. he IS well known and he DID make it big. if he didnt make it big, then how did this video make it onto the internet? many people respect and love him.
Good for him..
Kyle Reese is truly a warrior.
God bless him
Sobriety or aspect ratio, pick one. No, seriously, good for you Michael.
he did make it. would we be seeing this clip if he hadnt? wake UP
He is an actor like john stamps he will never loose his looks as he ages. Born good looking n die good looking
You are not alone
I'm in the same situation right now.
After watching K2 vertical high i thought he was a very funny character... But he is quite a solemn guy
Good on ya bro
@OralAgreement69 true if you think about it, he did make it, kyle reese and his character in aliens, will always become one of the most unique characters in movie history, especialy kyle reese, the way he potrayed it, and all, no one couldve played that role better then him
Except for his roles in Cameron's movies, we (France) can never see his other movies, because they are direct-to-DVDs films and relatively unknown or unspeaked of. Too bad, I really like this actor and wish I'd see more of him.
I also blame James Cameron for not offering him a part in Avatar !
Could the picture be stretched or distorted any further? Sheesh.
Just out of curiosity, when was this testimonial made?
