I have a very old Fraser falling block rifle. I found it in my Grandmas garden shed as a child. Unfortunately it’s not serviceable firearm but was my Great Grandfather’s hunting rifle. I suspect it’s chambered in .303.
sir, thanks for your falling block review, my grandad had one of those in .303 British, I recall as young boy asking what the side lever was for, I had forgotten all about this reminded I have caused a family debate on what became of grandads rifle ?? Regards
I hope you find Grandad's gun and somehow it becomes yours. As you know, the .303 British is the best cartridge offered in the Fraser Falling Block - that cartridge in the Fraser action, well...it's a perfect marriage. Please let me know if the rifle turns up - that would be an heirloom for your family and a memorable rifle for you to use in the woods or fields one day. Thanks for writing.
Reading the "Karamojo" Bell chapter in Capstick's "Death in the Silent Places," then searched for this gun online and found it here, on a channel I've already subscribed to. What a wonderful collection you have, sir. Thanks for sharing it here.
Hello Marco - one of my business friends told me "We can make everything and we can make everything better - but we don't have slaves; we outlawed slavery long ago. So long as we deal with countries that have what amounts to slavery - our cost of labor and cost of goods can't compete." Interesting fellow.
I just wish there were more close-up shots in your videos. Just a suggestion. I live them the way they are, but darn I would like to see some detailed views of the action, engraving, and markings.
That is a beautiful rifle.

Thank you Arctic Fox!
The European craftsmanship is disappearing same in America. It's a shame our forefathers were brilliant they built amazing guns without computers.

We'll do our best. It has to do with the cameras - as you know - and lighting; both of which I know little about. Thanks for mentioning.
What a wonderful rifle. Is it a rack and pinion setup with the lever and block? Thanks for posting.
Holy grail.
Good way to put it : )
Can you do a vidio on the 400/360 Westley Richards that was built on the hammered falling block action?
I like it but I still fancy the Sharps..!
I wish these were made in 22 and other small calibers .
Yes - great idea and they did make a Rook rifle - but not many and so hard to find.
What is the name of this rifle? It’s a very nice rifle indeed.
Hello - It is a Daniiel Fraser (Dan'l Fraser) falling block - no model as he only made one model.
