Peder Syv (1631-1702) hevur yrkt "Vi hugge med kaarde" eftir "Krákumál" ið er skrivað av fyrstani tíð afturi í 1100-talinum, og umrøðir Ragnar Lodbrók har hann liggur í ormagarðinum hjá kong Ella, og hugsar aftur á sínar upplivingar og roysn hansara meðan hann bíðar eftir at doyggja og koma til Valhøll.

The poem of "Vi hugge med kaarde" is a rewriting of the 12th century scaldic poem "Krákumál" about Ragnar Lodbrok when he is sitting in king Ella's wormpit and thinking back on his heroic deeds, while waiting for death and his ride to Valhalla.
It's sung and danced here by men from Velbastað on the Faroe Islands sometimes during the 1950ies

e a terra fria aonde odin fala n é o inferno nordico e sim o reino dos mortos, valhalla tbm n é o céu para eles e sim um lugar aonde os guerreiros vão apos morrer em batalha e lá aguardam o ragnarok

eu sou fã da série a muito tempo, mas hoje deu uma puta vontade de aprender mais sobre a mitologia nórdica e acabei nessa canção, no primeiro minuto, é de arrepiar... absurdamente ótima.

I'm not an expert, but due to it being short and the language (Danish) it is most likely considered a vísa (more specifically some of the Danish and Norwegian ballads that have found their way to the Faroes are referred to as Prestavísur (Priest ballads) as most often they were brought here by way of Dano-Norwegian priests).

The kvæði are usually longer (unless they are really old... but a guesstimate would be that a short kvæði should be around 50 or so stanzas...)

Mesmo inchado e abatido pelo veneno das serpentes, ele cantou e suplicou para que os ventos no norte levassem seu apelo aos seus filhos. Esta canção é conhecida como Krákumál e provavelmente foi criada no século XII, onde Ragnar clamou uma vingança de sangue, o único meio para que sua alma desonrada pelo veneno fosse merecedora do Valhalla. Ivar, Sem Ossos e Ubbe, ambos filhos de Ragnar, partiram para vingança assim que ouviram a história. Compondo um imenso grupo de guerreiros (hoje chamado de “Grande Invasão Bárbara”), partiram para a Nortúmbria onde conseguiram vingar Ragnar, submetendo o rei Aelle à execução da Águia de Sangue, um terrível ritual reservado aos maiores inimigos do povo do norte."

What album is this from?
I think these are recordings made by the Faroese Radio back in the early days of Faroese Radio Broadcasting. They had men travelling around the Faroe Islands making recordings of traditional ballads and dancing. But the material (or at least most of it) hasn't been published... only broadcast in the radio.
