    I'm glad to see this. I always peel my mushrooms. I can't stand how slimy the skins are when cooked! But.. if u peel them, u dont need to wash the skins first. Also if u pop out the stems first u can use ur fingers to peel them easily without needing a knife.

      Sometimes I don't use a knife. But, mostly I cook the button mushrooms with the stem on. :)

    Very good and thorough demo on how to prepare button mushrooms ready for cooking. I also cut the storks off shorter to get to the freshest part. Sometimes I dont even peel them if they are really small.

      Portabello mushrooms are not easily available in our place. So, I haven't got any chance to cook it.

      @@SwaadOfKerala aren't portobello, buttons and champignons the same thing?
      Portobello being the full grown?

    I thought you should never clean mushrooms in water since they absorb a lot of water

      Sudeep Ambati only if they are cut. Whole mushrooms can't absorb much water. I always wash them

    • @SwaadOfKerala
      @SwaadOfKerala  Před 5 lety +3

      It is always better to wash them unless you are sure that they are super clean. Just don't keep it in water for a long time. It's perfectly fine to wash it. 🙂
