Washing mushrooms and then sauteing mushrooms

Okay, well this video is not for the faint of heart. Especially, if you are like me and have gone for years not washing mushrooms. Seems ridiculous, I know, but it happens. So whichever side of the fence you've been on, enjoy watching the horrific results.
To saute the washed mushrooms I just add to a hot skillet, but you can see from, the video, not always. Turn heat on high, add olive oil or butter, add the mushrooms. Season with salt and pepper and garlic powder. Are you as amazed as I was at how little there were after cooking? Actually, it was plenty for the two of us to have as a side with our leftovers for dinner, then the next night we used the remainder on a pizza. Delicious, but less fiber without all of the dirt this time. Delicious.

I'm glad that you admitted that you've eaten a little dirt from time to time and your still alive to tell the story. We've all have eaten dirt as a kid not intentionally of course. We just happened to land face in the dirt/sand.

Thank you for this video . . . it was a big help! I buy mushrooms all the time and I always wonder whether I should wash them or not. I heard that if you soak them they will soak up all the water. I wash all of my produce. I use a little bit of Dawn dish detergent in the water and let them soak for 2 hours. I like Dawn the best because it rinses completely clean. Thank you again!🙂

You should probably use a natrual soap like dr bronners (baby unscented) or veggie wash. Even baking soda or vinegar 💚

im learning to be alone and cook and i always feel my paper towel method is messy for me. i think i use too many and im not sure what im doing to be honest 😅
