I recommend talking to any TOM members you see. They'll give you more in sight of what to expect. Also keep in mind each yard/TOM team is different. you'll also get labor shared to different sites. basically when one site doesn't have enough people for the shift the leads work out who's able to send someone to help. I recommend having a car just in case.
They have ride share service on Amazons dime.

@danielbarraza6684 never got the job. But I did do the career choice schooling and got my CDL-A. Last week was my last with Amazon. I got a new job making 30 an hour 🙃 it definitely looked worth trying TOM. But I never got the chance I've applied over 15 times twice while I had a CDL, but they still didn't even interview.

@@dbo2264 I started at 22.75 and I get a night shift differential so I’m at 24.75 per hour. Next month I will get a raise and I’ll be at 24.00 per hour and with the differential at 26.00 per hour. Not too bad , I’m in NYC.

Just got an internal transfer I’m inside the warehouse now heading outside. Thing is they don’t know I already ahead on getting my CDL, I’ll get my CDL before I actually start on the Tom team. Hopefully I get to go from site to site mostly tho. Don’t really want to be in the yard. That gets boring after awhile

Having a CDL isn’t worth working for Amazon. Go reach some good companies and choose one to work for. Amazon is horrible I’m about to start driving For Melton Ln driving a flatbed.

@@lonerangerrobo bc Amazon offers the lowest wage in the trucking world. the trucking world typically starts at like $30 an hour and with amazon like $21

hello, I'm working in Tom team and in my warehouse now they are doing cross-training and we getting inside for 20 h of our 40h .
I saw the video and I know that Tom team needs to be a solid team for safety and good work conditions.
My question is if this happens to anyone or they are allowed to change the team and send the yard associates inside?
Im on Tom and never heard of such thing. Tom team works in the yard only. Whether we are working the guard shacks or driving the hostler.
At my warehouse, if you’re on “labor share” it means you haven’t officially joined TOM team on their payroll so those associates could be called inside if they’re short on people or if TOM is over headcount.
im an amazon fc associate and was offered a position as a TOM associate......closer to home!

Wow can I apply at your facility mine is nothing like that.. We are always short staffed and people crying thy don't want to drive. I asked when I would go to cdl yesterday and was told thy didn't know thy had taken our funding away from our facility.🥺 also asked weeks ago about becoming a hustler trainer thy haven't gotten back to me. But every day ozzie go cover so and so go cover over their, you get to make moves on your own and some times not even a thank you..

Amazon paid for me to get my CDL. I completed my classes and obtain the CDL but..... Every time I apply for an internal transfer I keep getting denied.!!!

Starts at 22.75. If you work nights, you'll also get a night shift differential.

Can I join the TOM team if I work as a delivery associate through a DSP company ?
I just dealt with this currently in NOA training. The answer is no, you will have limitations on drive hrs and hours worked prior to you next shift at Amazon. While DSP isn’t CDL necessarily they still adhere to limits set by fmcsa or dot guidelines.

You don’t really need your CDL they want you to get it but to drive to in the yard you won’t need it it’s only if you want to do Tommy runs
You don't need it to join , when you apply for it though they will see it and it will put you in a good start
I’ve had my CDL for over 20 years and have driven a Hostler for UPS. Just applied for DSP out in North Versailles,Pa Amazon, Which has no Tom team I’m interested! What should I do?

Cold I’m assuming lol. Working out in the yard, I’d imagine you would need extra layers of clothing, to combat the cold temperatures.

Sign up inJanuary for CDL classes with Careerchoice then i guess pass and then apply for transfer or do another application for another site and apply for Transportation Associate.

Worst training in the trucking industry. Don't believe these lies. They give you two days with a TSS and send you out on Tomy runs.What a joke.

@@teresamichele4747 once you get your CDL and your background clears you only have 2 days of training with their trainer and then they send you on the road to do runs to different FCs for them. At least it's that way in Ohio
