    This will not work in real life scenario, because A type people work with A type company. And some businesses can’t afford to pay more so they get what they pay for. Appreciation is okay but at the end only one thing matter is how much you are paying. And one more reason A company not only pay your more but give you better perks, facilities and work life balance. Which 70% companies failed to give.

    Having built quite a few successful businesses this has become one of my favorite topics. This is quite good. However, it’s still lacking as follows: 1) Capabilities (aka skills) are not enough. Results are what one is after, ultimately. Hence”Capabilities” needs to be replaced by “Results” on the matrix here; 2) “Commitment” was largely undefined here and seems to be a catch-all for a lot of different things. Needs more clarity. I would advocate removing “Commitment” and substituting instead “Values” wherein a set of corporate values (or sets of non-negotiable strategically important behaviors which are taken as predictors of future Results) are established and scored for each team member.

    Rajiv - invaluable video and thanks for the insight.
    I have two questions,what do you do with the top left B candidate that keeps vasilating and don't own the challenges that were given but continues the damage and stakeholder damage?
    Second question is - if you are the team A member but not getting recognized - what do you do?

    • @Rajiv.Talreja
      @Rajiv.Talreja  Před 4 měsíci +1

      If you are an A player and you don't get recognised, you can have a conversation with the Management about how you feel... The tone of this conversation is most critical... It needs to be shared as a concern for which you are seeking a clarification and not a complain where you are blaming the management... Unfortunately many leaders fail in acknowledging the value of their A players... If the management is open and responsive, you will see a change in their expression of acknowledgement... But if they are short sighted and you experience an unhealthy backlash for expressing your concern then that's an indicator for you that you are wasting your talent in the wrong workplace...

    • @Rajiv.Talreja
      @Rajiv.Talreja  Před 4 měsíci +1

      If a B Results player has behavioural issues and is causing damage in culture and relationships at the workplace then it's important to call out such behavioral by articulating the impact of the behavior... Feedback has to be balanced and real... If the person even fails to acknowledge their own behavioral challenges, again it's enough evidence that this person lacks intent and integrity...

    I wish my boss watch this video once. I am a mix of B Capable and A. My new boss doesn't challenge me, rather he expect me to surrender first. He is clearly B commitment. I don't know how to go about it. I asked a skip level manager to change my reporting heirarchy, but that didn't happen unfortunately. Now I am open for other opportunities.

    I left few notable schools across the country due to two most prime reasons: 1) Not being acknowledged for the contribution that I made. 2) Not appreciated before I left. Eventually, I don't know when these school owners will learn in the long time. 😊
