I got my CDL A through Career Choice , I was looking into getting into TOM but my building is overstaff with TOM associates. The other location is just opening up but it’s 66 miles (2 hours commute total for the day ) quite far , just looking into getting my endorsement and apply on July after prime week and look if there’s any opening at my local FC. If not I will be applying to others jobs.
Do you know how long it take to get DOT clearance for "non cdl license for the TOM Team? I cannot get anyone to answer that & it was processed on 4/2/24 for Charlotte, NC.
So you say two things to pay for CDL. Either out of pocket or thru Amazon Career Choice correct? Unfortunately I am at school now using their CC program. Will they allow me to dual courses for CDL? How much do you think an avg CDL school costs? Ty!
It’s a matter more so of how quickly the recruiters move. Once you’ve been considered you’ll interview, they’ll email you a few documents to sign, then you’ll just be waiting on your driving record & background check to clear. I believe I waited a little over a month from the time I applied but my team was desperately short so they moved pretty quickly to get me in there. Good luck, & hang in there ❤

So i got offered a tom position in new jersey area to obtain my cdl as well for training do i need to be stay with amazon for a year if i did not get my cdl on my own?
At times you’re not in the hostler driving, you’ll be in the guard shack, checking drivers in & out. The process is simple but there are just a few tasks that need to be done using the computer. But no prior skill or knowledge is absolutely mandatory because you will shadow other coworkers & be trained on everything of course. The managers I’ve worked with so far are extremely helpful and patient so you’ll be just fine with during your learning process ❤
I start Tom Team next week I’m also in 160 driving academy i have my CDL permit from career choice but not sure if Tom will accommodate my school schedule since I will be working Monday thru Friday and my school days are Thursday / Friday .

When you joined the TOM team did they look at your driving record? What would disqualify someone in regards to their driving record
Did you go to HR at your site or did you go to the internal job site and apply?

No they don't. Only Fulfillment Centers not delivery stations

Do you have to be there 6 months or do you need any leadership training on A to Z they have like “recommended” under that section.
