I love how he refers to viewers friends haha I like the positivity
So detailed. He even let's you know what muscles to use when lifting a tire. Love it!
I have had a problem with the spacer binding to the cars original wheel hub due to different metals for each. I think it is wise to apply a layer of anti-seize between the spacer and hub. Otherwise the spacer won't come off. Had a set on for about 2 years and this happened.
Wanting to add spacers to my Lexus. Iâve watched many videos on installations and safety. This is the ONLY video where thread locker is applied! đđ
Hub centric? Had no idea this even existed, when searching or my spacers nothing even mentioned it, but I said to myself that they should make something like this haha thanks a million for sharing and for the valuable info bud, definitely worth subscribing to!
Thank you for understanding how to bottom out with a air gun, so many wheel shops and dealers don't and just use the gun tighten, stripping the lugs.
You don't know how many wheel shops looked at me as if they never knew how to use a torque wrench and properly torque to spec
Love the positivity in the video.
Echoing everyone else. This guide is so good. To the point, good camera angles, shows everything you're doing and why, plus safety. Thank you!
Dude said âIâm just gonna bonk this in thereâ đ
10/10 video! Got right to the point and made sure to restate the important things! Thank you! For sure watching more videos from you.
awesome information and to the videographer, excellent parallax effect at 4:10
i love this idea
This guy is Awsome! I loved the video!!
i won't lie this guy did a good ass job
Thanks for the information brother!!
Yo what I just bought this for my car and they made this video no way thatâs a coincidence đđđ
Such a nice guy
Dude youâre tha bomb with your explanation and help.
Thanks for the video just a couple questions is that a 2inch spacer on stock factory wheels and tires ?
I like this guy
Nice video I just installed one and a half inches spacers on my jeep and now I wish I wouldâve ordered the 2 inch spacers
THANK YOU SO MUCH. AND I LEARNED SO MUCH. GREAT VIDEO AND THANKS FOR SHARING.
You drive it around the block then re torque the lugnuts again. What you said about the wheels breaking free after hitting their first bump is exactly true.
I drove around the block and hit hella 12 bumps but nothing happened except clicking noises. I am gonna re torque them like you comment says but how often after the second time.
Coming back to reply yeah just retorque if you hear clicks they might be lose happened to me but I didnât know how to use a torque bar at the time but if you torque correctly should be fine but if you hear clicks check took mine off because I need a lift so that they donât rub
Do they make a insert for the wheel like they do in the hub side?
Great video, but one of my questions is about torque specs. Your video says to torque to manufacture of your truck, which in my case with a Chevy Silverado is 140 ft-lbs but my Titan wheel spacers say to not exceed 110 ft-lbs. Can billet aluminum wheel spacers stand the 140 ft-lbs Chevy says is needed for the Silverado?
Whatâs size do you recommend the hub centric rings for a 2019 ram 2500
Red locktite so your mechanic can charge you an extra $300 bucks to change your brakes.đđđ
I've not been able to find a decent pair of spacers and adapters for an xc90.
Do you guys have them?
Won't it be hard to go back after a 100 miles or so and re-torque everything if you use Red-Loctite? I hear everyone saying that with spacers you need to re-torque shortly after install.
100 miles
No whereâs in the instructions does it say to use loctite. If you use red then no way in heck you be able to check torque. All youâll be checking is that the red loctite is still locked.
Good stuff
What about a wheel spacer with a reduced center hub..? I have a sweet set of VW wheels that are too small for my Mercedes. Same bolt pattern (5x112), but smaller center bore. My Benz is 66.6mm, I believe, and the VWâs are 57mm..
Do you need a wheel alignment if you do this yourself ?
what number is the threadlocker?
Should I put anti seize on my wheel spacers I heard they get stuck ?
Is Permatex Orange Threadlocker ok to use on wheel spacers?
So them what adapter holds the weight between the spacer and the wheel? Wouldnât the weight just be on the threads of the spacer instead
Where do I get the centrixs?? And do I use the lugs that came in them to mount the spacers or my original lug nuts? Thanks Dandahermit
I put in same ones I got vibration on high speed, any idea how can I fix the problem? Do I have to do a alignment?
Love your loveđ
Thanks cheddar bob
+Matt Schalau Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
Can I get any hub centric rings?
Does the vehicle need an alignment after installing spacers?
Where can I get cv axel spacers?
Do you put thread sealant on before you bolt the tire down or do you just use it for the spacer
Just the spacer to wheel, not on the wheel to spacer
Question, I noticed you used Hub ring for spacer but not for the wheel. Is it ok to run a wheel like that over spacer?
The best is to buy the hub centric for the wheel and hub and the spacers must be made from aluminum 6061-t6 for better safety use bora spacers on bonos(bloxsport) spacers have a higher price but donât have to worry about ur wheel to fall off
Do you guys sell the wheel spacers? Link?
After shopping online i have yet to see any that come with the hub centric piece, suggestion on brands that do?
Bora spacers
Don't even have em for an 07 dodge ram.....good work
Hey great video! I have 3â spacers for my truck but donât have the hub centric ring that goes into them, and cannot find some anywhere! Could anyone send me the right way?? They are 8 x 165.1
check custom offsets !
What about adding locktite to the studs in the spaces before putting the tire on ?
Can I buy this part at your website? I need a 2" wheel spacer and center hub ring for 2013 Ram 1500. Please respond.
Are those 2 inch spacers you're using in the video?
There is no hub centric to locate the wheel on the spacers..?
Only thing different Is I would have used like a hose tube to slide over the breaker bar to prevent damage to the threads while applying torque to the lugs
+Kenneth Thanks for the tip!
@@1AAuto I have also cut pieces of 1/4 fuel line to slide on each stud or whatever size line that fits and easy for future use...
Worth noting, remove drum retaining clips before installing spacer.
Then reinstall them after?
do u still need to retorque even after appying threadlocker??
YES.
other then stability is there a benefit to adding wheel spacers
I put my front spacer on and test drove and I heard clicking while the wheel was moving idk if I let the glue dry enough
How order the hub centric? Mine spacers r 5x5.5 !
It would have been a lot of easier to apply the parking brake to keep it from spinning when your torque the spacer down
E brake only locks the back. This truck does NOT have a parking brake . Cars do
Dont you need a hub center ring for the wheel as well?
I mean doesnt that mean your carâs weight is just now sitting on the spacers lugs?
Blue Loctite instead??
Are there shops that can do this for you?
yes
How thick are those spacers??
+Fabian Lucas Thanks for watching! Those appear to be about 4" spacers.
1A Auto Parts thanks Iâm getting 2.5 for 95$ that a good deal?
i have wheel spacers but everytime i have gone to a mechanic or tire person they say they dont want to install them am I missing something or ?????? please explain
If you use thread locker with BORA spacers you have just voided the warranty. If you insist on using thread locker, use blue not red. Red requires heat to remove, and eventually the heat WILL damage the studs.
So I use the blue medium strength thread-locker to car's studs that hold the spacer and nothing to the spacer that will hold the wheels?
Thanks. I guess Iâll just retourque them but. Can I retourque them every 12 days instead of 100 miles
Probably a dumb question, but why do you use thread lock on the spacer nuts but not on the wheel nuts?
Veericle
Where can I find those wheel spacers?
+RUBEN FILIPPUS Thanks for watching! This is not something that we actually carry, but wheel spacers are a popular product that a lot of other companies sell.
Did you find them, i need some aswell and i dont know where to look
@@JoseOrozco-tv6em rough country
The hub spacer itself should be hub centric as well now your wheel is just being held on by the lugs on the spacer which is dangerous.
Anyone know where I can go to install wheel spacers đ„șđ
do it yourself fam
I would recommend your garage. That's where I work on my cars.
tire shop if you dont have a jack
Using red tredlocker???? If you ever want to remove it use blue
Any idea why my car would wobble after installing these ?
+Mr. juice the beetle We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
Will I need wheel balancing or something after that?
One thing is, I wouldnât use the red Loctite I would use the blue Unless of course, you never plan on taking it off ever again donât wanna break studs off every time you go to change a rotor or something
đ
Shouldnât the âHUB-CENTRICâ be on BOTH SIDES of the spacer. Thanks
No. Hub centric rings are adapters. they're made to adapt the stock hub bore to the size of the new wheel which is always bigger than the stock hub bore. They help get rid of vibration as well.
The hub on sticks through and that small part of the spacer
No. Only has to be a nice smooth fit around the hub
Hub-centric spacers are supposed to have a lip on the side where the wheel mounts to it. Itâs so the wheel wonât vibrate because it would supported by the center of the spacer, and not just the lug studs. The spacers in the video do not have that lip, so it can create vibrations.
What about for the wheel
All that talking and didn't show the difference
i like how he stressed the hubcentric rings so the whole weight isnt on just the studs but then the mounting surface on the front of the spacer doesnt have a hubcentric ring so hes just mounting the wheel to the spacer with only studsđ€š
Veericle.
Ok , question, what about wheel bearing, meke more pression on them, and steering wheel, response any different.
I believe you not explain that issues.
You donât not HAVE to use thread locker
Wouldn't the wheels still be lug centric because the wheel is still resting on th lugs? the spacer is hub centric.
The spacer heâs using is lug centric and makes it hub centric with the ring, the ring makes it safer but you can always get hub-centric spacers to make it easier, every factory wheel for vehicles is hub centric and only requires hub centric rings for aftermarket wheels
@@joshuagarcia9726 but can you use hubcentric rings for a lug centric wheel spacers ?
Ummm, unless you like damaged threads on your wheel lugs, due to pry bar "crush", I suggest you protect those threads. Either run the wheel lug nuts on to protect the threads or the old trick of slipping a 3" length of hose over them. Yeah, I'm anal about threads.
+Rex Mericle Thanks for the tip!
4:11 was I the only one tripping because the back of the sceene looks triply af
Isn't that adapters? I thought spacers don't have the lug nut bolts on it.
It's a misnomer. These are actually called wheel adapters and not spacers but people incorrectly used the two words interchangeably so much that manufacturers themselves are calling it wheel spacers.
Wheel spacers and adapters are the same thing only that wheel adapters change the bolt pattern for aftermarket wheels thatâs the difference
Your spacer doesn't have a hub centric to the wheel. It should have a hubcentric to the disc/drum and also a hub centric to the wheel. Those spacers don't seem safe to me.
Not hub centric for the wheel though
Yes EYE protection!!!
Because carburetor cleaner doesnât feel good on contacts nor does is work as a cleaner for youâre eyes or your contactsâŠ.
I tried it out trust me on this one spray it directly into my eye while cleaning feel injectorsâŠ.. đ€Šđ»ââïž
Use BLUE loctite everyone not red unless you want to buy a torch to heat the nuts off and struggle
What if I donât use any loctite is that okay or does loctite stop the retourque issue
@@crush9197 just use the blue one . End of story . Its very much needed for your safety and the safety of others . Cheers
If you donât require loctite when you put your tire on why use it for spacers? Torquing stretches the threads and âlocksâ the lugs on. Red loctite usually requires heat to remove and Iâm thinking youâll ruin the aluminum spacers. Iâd use blue before red. If Iâm out to lunch please let me know.
Once again sir. What does verricle mean lol
Scotty kilmer says DONT!
Those spacers may be hub centric, but the rims are now lug centric đ
They dont have to be hubcentric. Many aftermarket wheels are not hubcentric. Lug centric wheels have been used for a long time. You just dont want to be an idiot when you install them.
đđ
Is not only install, spacer, other components, affect that modification. Talk about that.
+D DAY Thanks for the tip! We'll pass this info along to our production team.
@@1AAuto I agree with this person. I keep being told that they will ware out the wheel bearings.
I'm very surprised that you made a video on these, especially since they're extremely dangerous.
Brad Billman i run spacers with 35s on a lifted vehicle . I wheel hard with them. No problems yet , they fail because people donât regularly check the torque of the spacers. I check every 2 weeks to make sure they are within spec.
Well maybe that's why they're dangerous if the torque if you have to take your wheels off every two weeks the torque this down one might argue they're dangerous for that simple fact. And if not dangerous are ridiculously inconvenience
Silas magee each time they havenât become loose . Itâs just for a piece of mind.
Definitely had mine snap 2 studs on the highway, never gonna use them again
Carlos which brand did you use
Proper installation:
Step 1- Don't
Why
I really don't like wheel spacer, wheel spacer make truck ugly, so therefore i don't like them, so the tires are sticking out, i don't like stick out, i really like when the tires are straight up.so therefore i don't like wheel spacers
we are not asking for your opinion hahaha
