How to Properly Install Extended Wheel Studs & Spacers // NEW WHEEL REVEAL

- STAY TIL THE END, YOU’LL SEE MY NEW WHEEL SETUP!!!
There are different 3 ways to install extended studs; pressing, hitting, and pressing. All 3 ways will get the job done, however one of them makes more sense than the others. Pressing them into the hub will be the safest, hitting them in will be the cheapest, however pulling them through takes the least amount of time with the least amount of effort.
In this video, I show you I swapped over the short wheel studs on my Nissan 370Z for some ARP extended studs, without destroying lug nuts, without using any shop grade tools, while outlining the entire process with torque specs and the tools/parts used.
Feel free to take a look at the tools and products I’ve outlined in this video. By purchasing items below, it helps my channel operate and brings more awesome content your ways. Thank you all for your generous support!! 💙

Detailing my car 👍👍
You know, your content has improved over the years.
Just found your channel, and I love it so far! So much detail, you make things simple and I really appreciate that. I don't have a 370, but I previously have a 2010 G coupe and currently have a 2011 G Sedan, so a lot of your videos will still be very applicable
I sub’d for accord videos what seems like forever ago, but I always learn something regardless of vehicle application. Your production quality has improved so much, too! Hopefully there’s no end in sight for your channel. Thank you!
I appreciate that a lot! Thanks Andrew 👊
Yhea lo love the accord
Super informative, love your vids🙌🏼🙌🏼
I've been subscribed to you for years and this is the first time I got a video suggestion of yours in maybe a year.
GOTTA HIT THAT BELL ICON 👌
Just bought a 2020 Z. Great vids, keep them coming 🤙
Bro this video help a lot I can’t wait to install my Z1 Extended stud soon
Love the detail u put in the video. No time lapse just to the point and good information
Glad you liked it!
Nicely done and presented well done 👏
Those wheels are PERFECT.
The most detailed channel on CZcams. Love the content.
I appreciate that! Cheers man 👊
Great job Milan, the wheels look beast 👍👍👍😜
Nice work! You're a great teacher. Thank you for putting in the work :))
clean video with great explanation and instructions!
Car looks amazing with the new wheel setup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks man! I'm happy about how they look. I'm hoping they drive just as nice 👌
Milan dropping that fire content again !!!!!
No fire, only ice cream.
Love that setup.
Awesome rim and tyres👍
Glad you like it man! Thank you 🙌
Man I gotta do this to my accord when I do my big brake kit upgrade. Thanks Milan!
Glad you enjoyed it! 👊
Thanks! I bought new wheels for my 01 is300 and the front wheels hit the caliper i got 5/16” spacers and arp extended studs so hopefully i can install my wheels!
Excellent content and presentation 👍
Thanks brother! 👊
Man this should be the standard for how-to videos on CZcams, very well done man!
You are the first of many videos I’ve seen that emphasized using open ended lug nut which I think is THE most important part of this installation. I’m almost disgusted to think that everyone is ok applying all that torque on the contact portion of the stud. They all finish and all you see are ground up threads. THANK YOU for your attention to detail
Dude , Right on !
Another very good content and helpful material, always entertaining and DIY learning,i love your vlog every time i watched you how you do it👍☝️💪👏.
Awesome, much appreciated as always! thank you! 👊
As always, this guy makes it look pretty straightforward! (👌🏽)
Glad you think so! Thanks William 👊
This is like ChrisFix level explanation/camera work. Seriously nice job
2:35 Personally, I sure do love sliding my stud into the access cavity in the rear. I dunno about everyone else, but it's definitely my favorite preferred way to install my stud.
😂😂 I see what you did there ahah
solid tutorial and good choice with the wheels.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great info
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you so much man I got square enkei nt03 m with and 265 35 toyos set up on lowering spring and the front fitment is so perfect but the back needs a spacer and extended lugs and thank you so much this video you made it so easy follow along
Glad I could help! Cheers
Cinematography is amazing in this video, damn!
Thank you I appreciate that 👊
Nice video , keep pushing and building we look forward to more content
Thanks man! Will do!
Love your content bro. 🙌
Appreciate it Joel! Welcome to the channel 👊
deserves way more than 2k likes great video.
outstanding!!!
Thank you!! 🙌
Very thorough, Almost Dummy proof.. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. Take care.
Thanks 👍 You too!
Mbn those wheels are fire 🔥
Love your accord man
Thanks bro!
The cameraangle on the wheel was a great idea, looks hot!!!!!
I'm glad you found that cool! 🙈
I like the rim and wheel setup a lot.
That makes two of us 😍
Side note: if you're using spacers that are wide enough to be bolted on not slipped on, buy bolt-ons lol. But awesome video! If using a slip on spacer, this is exactly how you want to install them. Keep it up!
Great point! Installing bolt on spacers are both cheaper and easier to install than this method 👍
Lol, today I was doing the same work ahahha, great content Milan!!
Legend! Hope it went well 👍
Awesome wheels man
Glad you like them!
Dude! You’re fucking awesome for this video. Don’t have a Z but I have a STi and I really needed this detailed video for the studs. To a car enthusiast to another I thank you. Good luck with your Z.
very thorough, great demo ... since you already are removing the rear hubs, would have been a good time to replace them for a fresh bearing (just a thought). Cool stud installer tool, also!!!
It wouldn't make much sense to put new ones on considering the car is fairly new, and doesnt really do any type of harsh driving. My s14 is a 95 and I've had the car for 12 yrs with only 1 change of bearings and no problems. 1jz swapped pushing 457hp on a reliable setup.
Nice haircut Milan very cool
I know exactly how to replace studs but yet I am still watching like this is my first time
My guy showing that support 💪
You are a really nice guy :)
Thanks man I try 👊
I want to lift my Olds - can I do the same for the shock/strut bolts?
Would painting or coating the studs black mess anything up? I want to run arp studs but hate their color.
Which extended studs would work for bk1 2010 genesis coupe ??
Hi bro. You have nice ride.
Hey, thanks man!
What's the nut and thread size to hammer i.e. press out the old studs?
For sure I enjoy the content of all your projects bro, but when is the MINI returning? Looking forward to more of that beast
It will be coming back 👍 I still have some upgrades and mods to do to it
Would a slip on spacer of 3mm need extended bolt?
Brother could you please show us how to clean throttle body ( wired and electric) and how we reprogram throttle to factory idle . Thank you 😊
Cable operate throttle bodies are very easy to clean. Just get a new gasket that goes between the TB and the intake manifold, remove the TB, and then clean it with throttle body cleaner and a soft brush and rags. Only use throttle body cleaner, nothing else. Electronic TBs are much more tricky. On some, you have to do a relearn procedure with a scan tool if the throttle plate is moved even with it disconnected from power. On others, the relearn is automatic. On others still, the relearn is automatic but it needs to be initiated with a simple procedure. For ones that require a scan tool relearn, you can remove the TB, turn the ignition on, and place something on the gas pedal to hold the plate wide open while you gently clean the whole TB. For others which are automatic, you can disconnect the battery, remove the TB entirely, GENTLY push the plate open, and then clean the whole thing. Again, only use specific throttle body cleaner.
can torque the rear axel nuts by just putting the hand brake on
I think you’ll become chris fix one day, very educational content
Explaining things perfectly this is a great video.
Enkei RPF1 or Wedsport TC105X (My personal favorite)
Both, very nice sets of wheels 👍
Question. The hub bolts from the car hub stick out about 2 millimeters. Is it safe to grind them off?
And when I brake there is a grinding noise happening. How do I fix this problem? Please help
What are your thoughts on KSP spacers?
These wheels look stunning, waiting for the car to get back on the ground.
I couldn't agree with you more!! I can't wait to see the fitment on the ground 💪
Even the previous set of wheels looked great to me
If adding 5mm-8mm spacers, is recommended to install extended studs?
I just want to get more clearance from the brake calipers.
bro if you still have this car please keep making vids for it
Great job on the video Milan. Keep up the good content!
Thanks, will do! 🔥
Hi bro, will a 14mm spline stud bolt fit in for an original 13mm spline bolt? Planning to replace my 13mm spline 12x1.5 but all I could see in stores are 14mm spline. Do you think that would work just fine?
It doesn't look like it. What car are you looking to get extended studs mounted on?
Actually, I was talking about the studs, they stick out a couple millimeters. Are they safe to grind?
Hey man, wanna put spoon calipers on the front wheels of my rsx type s.
If I keep the stock studs in the rear, can I use open ended lug nuts on them?
Yes you can. Open ended doesn't cause for any concern. If anything, it gives you breathing room
@@milanmastracci thanks bro
Wish me luck gonna be doing this to my 10th gen civic before installing a BBK
Hell yeah man! 💪 You got this
I got my spacers today man from Eibach, hopefully it’s easy to install them on my civic tomorrow
Will arp 100-7729 studs work. Says they fit Subaru WRX/Brx & Scion FRS. Arp has more spline teeth. Didn't wont to force it.
The studs I linked will work on the Z/G chassis's. ARP doesn't make one specifically for them, however they will work and that's what I have on my car.
I dont like that you can see the wheel stud sticking out of the lug nut. Is there a way to get the lugnut to be flush so you can put the 3 piece all together from the 3 piece lug nut you bought?
Been waiting on the updates of the k24A motor. It’s been a while.
I just heard back from my machinist and we're going to be making some good progress soon!
milanmastracci awesome awesome. Too bad you don’t have a small winter beater for the swap. I would love to see it swap into an eg with electric hydro power steering conversion done to it. That would be sweet to watch and learn.
@milanmastracci what type are your jack stands?
I am using these: amzn.to/3darEI2
What MM size studs of those APR
Anyone know where do they sale extended wheels studs for Nissan hardbody
Love the video, are these studs the same ones you used on the accord? That link no longer works, thank you.
They seem to be out of stock. Give it a couple days and check again 👍
Great video...
Do you trust those spacers?...especially when you're pushing the car to the limit on track?
I do, given that the lug nuts are properly torqued. I've tracked with spacers without problems 👍
@@milanmastracci question how much these wheels weigh bro?
I drive a challenger and messing up with the rear wheel bearing is a pain and wont do it again lol.
nice to be early for once
Welcome man! 👊
Great video, Do you really need extended studs for spacers? Seems like a real pain to swap...
If you know you're going to run something like a 15mm or larger, you can get away with bolt on spacers, but anything smaller than that is a slip on design, which means you NEED extended studs. There's no other way around it, other than buying different wheels
@@milanmastracci Thank you for that clarification! I was becoming a bit confused with all the info that is on the internet
I ordered same studs with projects kicks r40's. The lugs thread onto oem studs fine but the ARP studs begin to seize about 8 turns up. Both are confirmed 12x1.25. Is this an issue you've encountered? Im thinking ARP sent me some bum studs :/
Hey Matt, I can't say I've experienced that before. Do any of the threads look damaged on the studs? How did you install them onto your hub?
After watching this I have decided to pay my mechanic to do it for me 😏
Ahaha that's fair! Gotta know your limits
any updates to the honda build?
YES! 🙌
And Actually if you are replacing the studs with the stock size you don't need to remove anything but the rotor and brake and the original studs can be hammered out and slide out really easily and vice versa
Stock for stock, yes you are right. Its just a bit more work if you're going from stock to extended, regardless of how much more extended they are 👍
I still looking for extended studs for my 2012 civic si dont find it nowhere
These are what you need, however they seem to be back ordered due to covid: amzn.to/36RNag0
You said these new studs were for a Subaru , how did figure out that they would fit on your car?
I have a question where do you buy your wheel spacers? It's not listed in the description
I usually buy them from amazon as they're pretty cheap and I'm yet to run into issues with ANY of them. I have a couple of these and they've been terrific! amzn.to/3gCsmfv
@@milanmastracci thank you!
2:00 Are those jacks bolted to the floor? Worried about a moose wandering into garage and rubbing butt on corner of Zee, knocking it off stands.
They are not. I've been using these things for years without any problems. I prefer them to standard jack stands.
😱😱
Now you can be like Fonzi from Happy Days with your Honda Civic because you never slick down at the strip anyway.
Something from Enkei maybe? Maybe rpf1’s, or rp1’s I think the other wheel from them is called.
RIGHT YOU ARE 🙌 Enkei ftw!
in search of the grip
GRIP HAS BEEN FOUND 😍
Nissan :" so should we install brake disks or drum brakes on our new top of the line 370z?"
Employee of the month:" you know what, why not both?"
Even though companies make tools to do it pulling it through with the threads is not the proper way to do it. the proper way to do it is undo the hub and press them in using a hydraulic press.
A press is actually the way ARP says to install their studs
Wheel stud installer tool link?
I didn’t know you do transitions @__@
