Hello cousin! I am Eli Douglas MacDougall (unofficially), son of Jack MacDougall via Minnesota, U.S.A. I was so happy to find a musician family member, especially in the bagpipes. I am a musician myself, but never in the bagpipes. I play the penny flute.....decently, but the pipes are what calls to me. Problem is, I have nowhere to start when it comes to knowledge of what companies are reliable or merciful on the wallets of new players. I would love to pick your brain about our family, and how to become a bagpipe musician! Please let me know :).
Pick up a practice chanter and instruction book from a place like Henderson's, Piper's Cove, or Piper's Hut. Do not be tempted by cheap imitation pipes; they are not functional instruments and are suited only as decorations. For a real set of pipes, you will have to spend minimum $1000 for good plastic pipes, or around $1300 and up for blackwood pipes. But you don't graduate to full pipes until you can play a few tunes on the chanter first.
Hello, I'm here also because (and shame on me for not knowing more before) Roy Gullane is my father's cousin. I only knew him vaguely as my Dad and Mum left Scotland to move to England where I was born so only met him as a child. I was aware he was a musician but discovered this properly at a family funeral in Glasgow just recently. Indeed proud to have such as successful and wonderful musician as a family member.
Maravilloso!! El mejor grupo de folk de la historia
So glad you kept his jigs🎶🎶🎶
Each one an outstanding musician. I love this! Thank you guys!
Lovely and true Gordy tunes 🎶
The best of the best.
You guys sound fantastic! Bravo!
