- I didn't realise today was the 15th anniversary of Gordon Duncan's passing until someone commented. I hope this is a good tribute to commemorate this absolute piping legend's legacy.
Growing up, one of my biggest musical inspirations was Gordon Duncan. He still is to this day. I never had the privilege of meeting him however, I consider him a musical mentor of mine. 10 years ago, I graduated and was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to teach pipes which have led me to the Director position of the program some years later. You'll notice, I'm not alone in this video! Meet Angus Evans, one of my very talented piping students I have taught from Grade 4 who just graduated this past November. This video feels like a full circle, to play a tune by a musical inspiration of mine with a young piper I taught from the beginning, who is, graduating a decade apart from when I did.
Please enjoy The Belly Dancer by Gordon Duncan revamped, performed by Lincoln Hilton and Angus Evans in the SUPER WINDY desert of Melbourne. ⌛️🎵 (keep an ear out for his original track in the video 😉 )

Piping's Seasons in the Abyss
What's your favourite Gordon Duncan tune?!
Just for Seamus, especially for the story behind it
Soup Dragons definitely!!
Brilliant as always Lincoln!! Love it!
The High Drive, of course!
too hard to chose.... ^^' I would say Lorient Mornings 'cause i'm briton
What a great tune! Reminiscent of Smenco Horo (ref Planxty or Vale of Athol Pipe Ban.).
Hey Lincoln, do you and your squad have any plans on touring? If so, I'd like to see you play in the Netherlands ^^
What are you plugging your drone reeds into?? Some transparent plastic widget?
Is that a camel skin bag 😂👏👏👏👏👏 great playing
How can the chanter get both the "Dirty B" and regular B? Most chanters when you play the "Dirty B" fingering will make a sharp B, so what did you do to the chanters to make it play a good "Dirty B"? Did you tape it like crazy?
Hi, how are you? Could you recommend a practice chanter to learn and some beginner level books? Thanks.
Your best bet is going to be finding a pipe band in your area and seeing if anyone there can teach you.
What time signature is this in
