RIP Dudley, a delightful man who, even in old age, retained the buoyant interest and vitality of a child.

I love The Devils and I wish Criterion or someone would put out the definitive version uncersored version out on DVD. I was so sad when Ken Russell died. He belongs in that pantheon of visionaty directors. That title is too casually tossed around to people don't deserve it. Thankfully I lived not too far from an arthouse movie theater that showed the latest Ken Russell film back in the eighties so I was cinema heaven. Nicholas Roeg is also a great cinema hero yo me.

More like the Pantheon of self-indulgent, bombastic madmen.
