- On August 28th, 2010 as a videographer for Rue Morgue magazine I had the great honor of capturing the first time ever filmmaker David Cronenberg met fellow filmmaker Ken Russell
Love it when Cronenberg says he's happy just to hear Russell say his name.
Ken Russell what a legend a man greatly missed in the film world been shown so much reverence greatly deserve by a man who is still at the top of his game..
It was such a great moment! I’m very honored I was able to capture it.

Excellent clip! God bless Ken. What a character, and what a tremendous artist! Severely missed. His films would still be kicking the critics in the crotch if he were still with us, especially in this time of staid pablum.

Heartwarming to see these two together. Shortly before Russell's passing? Recall the early 80s, just before entering college, exposure to more than genres, but the evolution of artists and their kinship with others. Read that body-horror was the term for DC's work, but I would say bizarre or grotesque. Thank you posting this encounter.

I got to see Cronenberg speak there and spotted Russell while in line for Lance Henricksen. It was weird seeing the director of Women in Love right next to the Son of Santo.
It was a great weekend!
