Some old songs are recordings that are not on CZcams.
There are some tunes before 1400 BC (Hurrian hymns) , like the Aboriginal Songlines or some Sumerian tunes.
I have not included these because there aren't reliable adaptations.
Many musical genres have not appeared (20th century).
I have only put the most recognizable themes.
This is not a list of all the genres that have appeared during the last decades.
The earliest evidence of polyphonic music was found in the 9th century.
I have been very present the audience of some songs in CZcams (1990-2016).
Even when CZcams did not exist.
I hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!

1. The ancient Chinese Guqin song, “Youlan”, was composed by Confucius in the Chunqiu period (around 500 AC). It was more than 100 years early than Tang Dynasty.
2. The second traditional Chinese song that appears in this video was played by Bianzhong and Guqin. Bianzhong is a traditional instrument mainly used in the Han dynasty (around 200BC-200AC). So, this song was much early than “Youlan”.
Chunqiu period : 770BC- 476BC
Tang : AD 618- 907

It is worth mentioning that it is difficult to talk about the actual evolution of music. Classical music, at the time of its creation, was not the equivalent of popular music (pop) today. It was known mainly in the so-called high society. Folk, frivolous songs passed down from generation to generation were quite similar to modern pop. However, classical music has not disappeared. It is still being created. It is mainly music for films, but hundreds of years ago, the greatest composers also performed on commission. It is a similar situation. In my opinion, John Williams is one of the greatest composers of all time, he can easily be mentioned alongside Bach or Mozart. Music has not so much evolved as branched. It diversified. On the other hand, the dissemination of the mass media, as the name suggests, has revealed even more the tastes of the majority.
A lot of people would consider it sacrilege to put John Williams and Mozart in the same bucket, but if you ask who is the most famous and recognizable classical composer still living, the top answer would be John Williams.

Thank you for the wonderful effort you have made to condense the world's rich music history into a short video. Great job, so informative and educational. Used it for my music studies. 4:52, Pachelbel's Canon is in D Major, not Minor. 5:54, this section of Salieri is in the major key, not sure if it modulates between major and minor and is known as Requiem in C Minor.
Beautiful!
I am so happy to finally find a music evolution video that spends more than 2 minutes in the pre 1900's era. This is a much more proportional representation of the entire history of music and I would like to thank you for it. My dream for the perfect evolution video would be one that uses your knowledge of pre modern music, Zary0's evolution video's extensive library of 20th and 21st century music as well as the rhythm of Pentatonix's music evolution video.
