Today we are cleaning the living room and bathroom of a dirty home that is full of rubbish. The resident struggles with depression, self-harming, and ptsd from childhood trauma. This mess started with the loss of a close relative and after drowning in grief for the past year, the resident really needs our help towards a brighter future. This is part one of cleaning this house. Come clean with us!

Feedback: Don’t rely too much on feedback. Continue narrating because you'll naturally get better with practice and experience. Make videos that you personally like to watch. In my experience, it's always best to explain the backstory and educate the audience on how/why you're doing things the way you're doing them. Avoid music. The overwhelming majority of people dislike generic CZcams music on these videos.
As far as length, 30 minutes is the sweet spot, but once you find your voice, people don't mind hour long videos if the transformation is big and the narration is entertaining. Remember above all else that people watch CZcams videos for entertainment and education.
My biggest advice is to only take advice from people who are where you want to be. You'll get tons of advice from well meaning people... but if they've never made videos or cleaned on this level, their advice is based in theory and not experience.

One more note: switch your camera's video settings to record in 16:9. I record in 4k, but that's not totally necessary. And make sure to clean your camera lens before every recording. It will reduce the white haze.

I enjoyed your content, I rather like your voice so while you don’t have to talk the entire video, I do like hearing about the clients’ stories and a little bit about how you got into cleaning as well as tips on cleaning and products you use. I like it when you explain things like why you have masks on or how many bags you needed. In short all the behind the scenes action about the cleaning job.
To all of you who only ever criticize: go out and do what Mack, Barbie, Bonnie, Coline, Fife Free Cleaning etc. do. Go help other people for free instead of criticizing those who give their free time, money, heart and soul and empathy to do something good for others. If not, just be quiet, keep your negative vibes to yourself.

For two pence worth: your voice is fine; music is superfluous; like scrubby sounds; interested in history of home & client-if they approve; very interested in YOUR point of view and thoughts about the situation; interested in tips & your process; interested in how you deal with situations such as this-including personally, this work must be taxing. Make this YOUR channel, however. Stick with what you know. If you’re not an “expert” on mental health, you are an expert on who you are and why you’re doing this service. You’re an expert in your point of view. And consider this: one of the MOST interesting things I heard in this was the fact that the client was in the home with you & she enjoyed the company. YOU have a lot to offer. Keep it up, because the work is worthy, and the results are LOVELY. From an icky environment to a home that has had a flawless cleaning! Well done! You are wonderful humans to provide the blessing of these free cleanings!

As a 66-year-old woman in Texas, I suffer from ADHD and depression. Mack from MMC is the one person who made me understand my condition, and I'm so grateful to him for that. I've spent my whole life with my oldest sisters voice in my head telling me that I'm just lazy and can't do anything right. It was through videos like Mack's and his explanation about the effects of ADHD and the fact that my brain is just different, that I came to accept my condition and not degrade myself. I am much happier and am slowly decluttering and cleaning. God bless all of you who help those of us who just need a little push. 😊

As a former Geriatric home nurse, we would carry an extendable magnet to use to pick up any needles, pins and sharps that the patient might have dropped on the floor. We would out magnets from an auto supply store. It is a safety feature to have on hand. Great video, I commend you all who take on these challenges for others. @MidwestMajicCleaning directed me over here.

Love your voice and accent, they are so mild. You asked for some feedback, so I personally prefer cleaning videos without music with a bit of talking and original cleaning sounds. It's obvious that you have to speed up the clip with this amount of footage, I think that it would be great to insert just small pieces of video at a normal speed. I enjoyed watching you work, glad I found one more pleasant free cleaner on CZcams😊

I feel like any feedback that comes from someone that says you have the "wrong accent" probably shouldn't be taken seriously. And like what does that even mean anyways?
Also the sped up chipunk noises plus the cleaning noises are some of my favorite things in videos like this. Makes my adhd happy.

I just got spin kicked here by a moose. It's so amazing to see someone doing this here in the UK. Our country is such a mess right now. Mental health services have never ending waiting lists for years and years, when you call the crisis line they genuinely suggest having a 'cup of tea' as way to stop self harming. Also there is the cost of living crisis, to be taking your time out of paid work, when food/ rent & fuel prices have risen stupidly fast, shows how even more amazing you both are. I can tell you're very lovely people like the moose hurder that sent us your way x

My family asks me why I watch these types of videos. It's because it encourages me to believe my house can be better. It's motivation to actually do stuff. We can't please all persons. You simply be YOU. The right people will love it.
I am not a content creator, so take my advice with a grain of salt. As MWC points out, feedback is great for technical things like lighting, camera settings etc., but the best content (IMO) is genuine... you being you, doing your thing. That is why people watch. Some people may stop watching, and that is OK. But the cleaning/landscaping/helping others community seems mostly kind and pretty tight and your people will find you. What you do isn't about cleaning, it is about treating people with dignity and respect and being a friend in times of need. It is a beautiful thing to put out into the world. Subscribed! 💖

For cleaning videos I prefer no music. Voiceovers are good because the story of why the home looks like it does is interesting. Tell us what you are doing, or what you are finding in the piles, or what your goals are for this room, this day, this clean. Tell us what inspired you or motivates you to do free cleanings. Everybody has a story, yours or theirs, and they're all interesting. And your voice is fine! No worries! If voiceovers are too daunting, I'll take AMSR cleaning sounds. Squeaky mouse voices when speed is 2x don't bother me at all.

I personally like the talking. I watch a lot of cleaning videos and sometimes I'll zone out on the cleaning and just listen to the narration. Cleanings without narrations don't tend to hold my attention as much!
I totally agree, if a video doesn't have voice overs I get bored and generally turn them off.

I have depression and I think I think undiagnosed adhd and have a cluttered home, but thankfully, not anywhere to this degree.
I agree that your most valuable advice will come from other cleaners who have CZcams channels.
I live in Florida, where it's very humid, so I'm always amazed when there aren't roaches everywhere like there would be here.
I felt my lungs get tight when I saw all the cigarette butts on the floor.

I personally would love more voiceover. Since I watch a lot of videos like this, it gets more and more boring without the entertainment factor. You don't have to talk about the resident the whole time. Now that you're starting out, you can also talk about the difficulties of organization, filming, and so on.

Here I'm watching your cleaning, lovely job by the way, and as I watch you clean the toilet I keep thinking, why aren't the two spots on the toilet as you scrub hard going off? Hi, Midwest Magic Cleaning sent me here 😊 You're doing great and thank you for helping this resident. For feedback, I would request that you film in widescreen/16:9 just so we can see more. I have super sensitive ears so the high pitched squeaking is not for me but that's why we have the handy dandy mute button so I can still happily watch. Your voice is nice and calming too ❤
Same here with the high pitched sounds. It doesn't hurt when I watch Midwest Magic Cleaning videos but I wonder if that is because Mack and Jason naturally have lower pitched voices.
