I have started saying "and now I collect the thrashes" loudly to myself everytime I start to clean and it instantly makes my motivation rise by several levels! Cleaning is something I struggle enormously with and this little sweet routine has actually made it so much easier.

Something I discovered just this week after getting it during the pandemic is the power of steam!! I got a steam mop in quarantine since it disinfects and wasn’t that into it. Had it out to steam clothes earlier this week and ended up using it to clean mirrors and glass EASILY and tackle the kitchen cabinets that have dried coffee and bits of oranges from the juicer. Have tried before with sprays and elbow grease and it was such a pain. The steam just melts it off and it’s so easy to then wipe it down. Obsessed!! Helpful with hard water stains too

As someone who suffered (& still does!) from depression, I wish, someone would have done the same for me, when it got THAT bad! Sleeping through the day and being active throughout the night is something, I'll never forget. We not only hide from our problems while sleeping through the day, we also hide from people and any responsibility, like work, going shopping for food or meeting the family. because at night time, there's no pressure. No one is awake. So you can sit and overthink everything. Where did it go wrong? What happened, that I'm living in this horrible situation? I'm still in recovery and learning. I hope, Jake gets the help he needs. Thank you, Auri. For helping people out in need.

Not a very deep book but the author said something that gave me a moment of power. He said that a big cloud can trick us into believing it is endless but it never is. The sky is always bigger. And the cloud can never exist without the sky but the sky can exist without the cloud. That cloud is depression and you are the sky. And your videos just proof this theory wrong for me. I don’t understand how helping others(e.g. by cleaning your followers home) because you just love doing what others need help at is not as good. Being able to feel good when you literally don’t do anything for yourself is to me the truest form of a good deed(and to me defines a “good” person). I was in your shoes and would go on shopping sprees. I would get things I didn’t need. I would keep things I would never use. My parents let me put two storage sheds in their backyard for my things. I have like 7 Christmas trees which is insane and could probably decorate 5 houses for every holiday lol. Then the storage sheds got full!!🤦🏻‍♀️ Well I bought plastic storage bins and organized everything in my room with my parents help and it feels so much better. I have depression and fibromyalgia so I struggle sometimes with cleaning which is why you should never be ashamed to ask for help. I stopped shopping and just imagined all those boxes stacked in my room anytime I wanted to. You got this and you’re stronger then you think. I’ve never done this but I believe the state can help you with people to clean your house if you suffer from health conditions that makes it difficult for you to do everything on your own. After months of neglecting the fridge and cabinets, I cleaned the cabinets last week and organized them. It’s amazing to open them and find what I need in 2 seconds!
And today I cleaned the fridge. Took all the shelving and containers out and washed them thoroughly. It looks so nice!
Next week I plan to tackle the freezer and patio.
We will see how well my mental health is doing by then, but I’m glad I’m able to keep my bedroom clean almost everyday!
Thank you Auri for helping me get the strength and motivation I needed to get out of this mental fog of hating cleaning.
I love it now. It’s so fun ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
As a backstory, I was kicked out of an apartment a few years ago. My apartment wasn’t as bad as some of the ones you take care of, but it wasn’t good. My sister and I cleaned the apartment and made so clean, Auri would be proud. But it wasn’t enough to impress the landlords and ultimately they decided to evict us.
We were able to move to another apartment after paying 3x the normal deposit and 1st month rent. We tried harder to keep this place clean. We didn’t want to get kicked out. But it left that nasty scar. I was always on edge, am I going to get kicked out from this place too? The dishes haven’t been done. And my clothes are on the floor. There’s some empty cans on the coffee table. Is that enough for the maintenance people to take pictures and get us kicked out? It was constant constant worrying and anxiety which made me feel sad and depressed. Ashamed and worthless.
We did keep up the apartment well, and made the decision to leave to live in a house. I moved back in with my mother to help take care of her and my sister moved in with friends.
Thank you if you read any of this. You are a blessing and loved and you worth a lot!

I will never understand how people let themselves and their homes go this way. I know about being ill but why don't they ask for help as soon as garbage starts piling up? Anyway, I am so glad you are helping so many people in need, and their neighbors and buildings. When a home is full of rats, roaches, mold, and so on, it affects not only the resident but the entire neighborhood. To the rest of us who don't have those sorts of issues, your videos are awesome. Then you can make them even more proud by keeping it clean. Host dinner once a week or once a month so it pushes you to keep it clean. Don't do it all at once. It didn't get dirty in a day, it don't get clean in a day. Do small areas at a time. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. I go through these moments too but doing small areas at a time has cleaned all but one room where I shove everything I'm not sure of and need to sell so now I only have one room to worry about and I will start tackling that this week. Put on some good music, go for a walk before to raise endorphins. Having a clean home really helps the clutter in our depressed and anxiety ridden minds. You may even find it helps your anxiety!!! Thanks so much for the respect you show to the people in this situation. It is so easy to find yourself in a place you’ve never expected, due to depression. It can happen to anyone, and all they need is a little help. Due to the embarrassment and fear of judgment, it’s so difficult to ask for that help. It’s so refreshing to see a channel that doesn’t point out every gross thing, but instead focusing on the solution. Thanks for the inspiration and being understanding.

Do you really think these people deserve any respect at all? Are we now saying it's OK to turn someone else"s property into a dumpster and wait for wonderful Auri to come over and help out? Would have been far braver if the resemblance of a human who did all this got a good grip of himself and cleaned the bloody mess, rather than only asking for help.

Your work really is so incredibly important. I struggle myself and grew up under a hoarder mother so its my only experience to know chaos, its so hard for me to comprehend how other people clean and keep things clean and organized. I love videos like this, it is the education i didn’t get from an organized healthy parent, and i know i am not the only person who grew up like i did. Thank you for doing the work and thank you again for making the videos helping people like me see thats its a bag at a time, a space at a time, a whole room at a time. It adds up. Treating it like its a contact sport is kinda of funny actually. Makes me look at that pile over by the dining room window and say silently and shyly in my head,.. “that could be a field goal….” 😈🤭

I get it. I've been struggling with LongCovid for almost 24 months and standing for even 30 minutes is hell. I try to explain but people just assume a messy home is due to laziness. There is more help and practical ideas available from stranger comments than real life friends/family.

I was too! But you know, I just kept telling myself, Many Hats, nice weather is comming! Sort, declutter, clean now! Then I will feel free to just get out ,walk,go to parks etc. This year, I would like to improve my health! Even get more sun! But its hard to enjoy anything when you know things are chaos, when you come home.Small steps, plan, take action! A list, and do only what you can, always a bit is better than nothing! I always start with the garbage and recycling! Sometimes I don't recycle the best, when I need to get ahead. As a rule though, I do. Then one load of laundry, wash a few, to some, or all the dishes. Even just fast, pre-wash, to get the food off! place them aside. Wipe counters. I know all about deep sadness, being in that mind paralysis! I will let you go, I talk too much! 🤐🐦🌷🌷🌈🌞

Watching this brings tears. The dweller needs a big hug because they decided to ask for help. Little things can be overwhelming to address. Pain not shared is like the apartments not being cleaned. It all stacks together inside. We are all human with weakness. We all come to that moment of decision. Life is precious. We all have purpose and we must find it. Your work is so genuine. You ease the pain some have felt. You show how a bad situation can be transformed for good. It brings hope to many and inspires many to also turn a bad situation to good. Thanks for the help you give. Its well worth the time you invest into cleaning.

I've always treated my depression with cleaning. Not kidding. Cleaning has gotten me through some incredibly hard times. Best thing a therapist ever said to me was "don't wait for the feeling to move. Move first. The feeling will come. It's a circle, not a line. Move, feeling, move, feeling." It helped me not feed into the "sit on the couch all day because I'm depressed" thing. I never realized how unique that therapist was ...til watching your videos. It seems "depression" is always the reason.
