There are also grey areas in America where if you respond off base , you may get knocked out and no one will intervene. For example if you are in an argument and I hear you go to far with a " that's why your mom is in hell" or something like that? Sure you have a right to say this but it comes with consequences.

These people aren't the titans of the intellectual community. They've spent a large chunk of their professional career being told that they're the last word in hard hitting journalism and have bene able to hide behind a big media company. It's entirely possible that at least some of them will be successful in their new ventures. Most of them were never really competent journalists to begin with so their failure to be successes at journalism was pretty much a given and not really indicative of what their true competencies are (if there are any).

Read an old issue of Nintendo Power or GamePro online. It's pretty much 90% about games, with the other 10% some pop culture stuff, like movie premieres or celebrity interviews. There is zero pushing of politics.
I've never seen an industry where the people in it hate the medium and the target audience as much as present day gaming/tech journalists. They are pissed off that they never got the columnists jobs they dreamed off at the Washington Post or New York Times.
You can thank feminism and late stage capitalism for that. Everything is meant to manipulate, exploit, conditioning, normalizing toxicity, consumerism, etc.

The way I look at it, some of those journalists are actually journalists, and - forced out of the mainstream companies, will find they are able to actually write good articles that deal with topics in a reasonable way. Most of them will end up buried in the sea of crud.

There was another jobs report that said 240k of those 300k new jobs in March went to illegal immigrants.
Seriously? Like people putting out 6000 applications and 7 interviews over 8 week period for 1 minimum wage job and these illegals just get handed employment?

The biggest problem with journalism is that it has never had monetary value on its own merit: the revenue driver was always advertising. No one is willing to pay, in subscription fees, what it would take to make a company economically viable sans advertising dollars.
WSJ and Real Clear Politics have been growing like crazy, so these lay offs are not a reflection of a failing business, but an adjustment of cutting the fat is doing nothing.
No one recognizes their names and they don't have the work ethic to do content creation.

Everyone wants to be a CZcamsr, but the algorythm will be their worst enemy.
It's no secret that whoever is handing out statistic added the part-timers to boost employment number so it seems that a lot of people have work but in reality they don't have a "stable" job.
It makes sense for journalists to switch to social media (CZcams, Tik Tok, etc.) because apparently people aren’t reading; however, the problem is that the powers that be will push their content and suppress the opinions of those who they don’t agree with.
