I started collecting coins at age 9, 1974, today, my eldest granddaughter is 9, and showed an interest in coin collecting so I got her started with alot that I have collected since the 70,s, I'm stoked!!!
very few new collectors replacing the dying ones thats a problem
A lot of coin dealers will try too rip of new collectors for no reason too make a quick buck then one less coin collector.

Is it hard to not get really excited when you see a fresh collection? But then again this is business and you can't get too attached to the coins.
I got very excited. Just don’t see most of those coins before a bunch of dealers get them.

Really good show....I was blessed to pick up a 1799 draped bust dollar, and then won the grand raffle drawing. So ended up basically getting a draped 1799 dollar for free...

The person in front of me at the store was trying to purchase the premium free gold dollars from the cashier. Coincidence or are more people collecting? I'm thinking coin collecting is becoming popular again.
Go back and look at your conversation about the trade dollar. He priced it for you at 1300 saying that he paid bid and wanted 50 more. Bid was 1155. Me thinks he owes you dinner:)

The only thing I am buying right now is 90% in clean and shiny condition and gold coins. No $15K SLQ'S for me.

There are definitely coins I’d hold forever. Just need to be picky. Right now our personal collection focus is CAC seated dollars.
