My dad's Volkswagen beetle was stolen. He went to Mr Gigante, respectfully and asked for help. He knew my dad went to work and was not involved. Within a day or 2, the beetle shows up parked on the street. My Dad thanked him and was never expected to return the favor. A true gentleman.

I didnt know what to expect in the beginning. I'm usually skeptical about people but this girl seems really down to earth. The wild thing is, I went through something similar with my dad. We never had much of a relationship. He was in prison throughout my childhood and as I started getting older 11, 12 years old I lived with him a lot of the time and he got me involved in drugs selling and also using and it changed my life for the worst and brought a lot of resentment between us. 20 years later my dad is dying from liver failure and I know he doesn't have much time so I write him a letter telling him who I really was since as early as I could remember. All the good and all the bad. I tell him things that we could never talk about in person because of foolish pride and tough guy bs. I forgave him for all the hurt he caused me and I asked his forgiveness too and I told him I loved him for the 1st time ever. It was about 40 pages of letter. After that he would call me crying and laughing and asking about this or that and in the end he we healed our relationship. He passed 3 months later. I only wish I had done it sooner but God does things on His time. When I heard Rita tell about her letter it hit me like a ton. Thanks Rita. Sorry for the essay I tried to keep it as short as I could.

Her father was the last true mafia boss in American history. As a amateur historian of the American mafia this is a fantastic interview. Her father is such a historically legendary figure in organized crime that hearing her perspective is blowing my mind. He was absolutely loved by the people in his own family and simultaneously feared by everyone else in organized crime. It really can't be stressed enough just how monolithic a figure he was. And her story is just as interesting as his.

I am also an "amateur" historian of American Cosa Nostra, and when I saw the title of this video, and her last name, my heart literally skipped the beat. You are 100% correct, it cannot be overstated how important the Chin is in the very history of Cosa Nostra in America itself. A driver for Vito Genovese himself..the hitman fornthe attempted Frank Costello assassination, which secured Vito Genovese's contro and position as head of the then Luciano Crime Family, ultimately becoming the Genovese Crime Family. The Chin personally knew ALL of the most important figures in Cosa Nostra. Lucky Luciano..Vito Genovese..Frank Costello..Tommy Luchese..Joe Profaci..Joe Colombo..Joseph Bonanno..Alberto Anastasia..Carlo Gambino..and many more. He was in the mix with them all. The title of Capo Di Tuti Capi, or Boss Of Bosses, died with the formation of The Commission and The Five Families, but if any crime family bosses since could have made claim to that title, it would have either been Carlo Gambino, or Vincent The Chin Gigante. People mistakenly put John Gotti on this pedestal, but those who know and understand Cosa Nostra history, know that even John Gotti, as big of a figure in that life as he was, did not wield the kind of power that Chin Gigante wielded. Again, it cannot be overstated how important Chin Gigante is in the history of organized crime in the United States. I'm just absolutely amazed to be listening to this interview.

A lot of people wouldn't be contributing to her revenue stream if she were to tell us how cool it was to live with a psychopathic murderer who destroyed the lives of thousands of families by feeding their addictions for drugs and gambling then having them beaten to death because they couldn't meet his weekly payments. He was the head criminal of a murderous criminal enterprise whose success is measured in hundreds of gallons of blood, tons of illegal narcotics and decades spent in the sex slave trade. I'm pretty sure she has not signed over the royalties from her book or future speaking fees to a rehab facility in order to mitigate a fraction of the damages her family caused by the drug problems he cultivated all across the U.S. Every stitch of clothes and morsel of food she ever ate was sourced from Satan himself. Had she murdered her father for his sins then we would know that she has at least one redeeming quality.

Your phone is listening, that's how it works. Mention peanuts a few times today, not on your phone, and you will get ads for peanuts.

@@johns.2994 and that has nothing to do with what I said my point is that The Godfather of Harlem is fake if bumpy would’ve done any of what he did on the show in real life he would’ve gotten whacked in less then a day that’s facts the mafia controlled the U.s especially in the 60s

I'm speechless! When Rita started speaking, I was mesmerized. As a Catholic, I'd be more honoured to meet her than to meet the Pope! So modest. So truthful to the core. Such an exceptional life experience. So authentic. So original. I'm distributing this video. I can't thank you, the Producer enough! To think I saw this video so many times & passed it by! I look forward to more from Rita. Bless you both!

That was always the rule.. “what goes on in this house.. good or bad.. stays here. Make sure when u walk out the door you got a smile on ur face” that was it. Even till this day my brother and I know what to talk about and when to keep our mouths shut. Kids these days just blurt it out and cry.. no tough skin.it’s very different. I worry about that. Rita u truly r amazing. I know exactly where u r coming from. 🙏🏻
