Michael - Tile Master - Jak na to + styl
a big thank you also, I decided to take on my bathroom renovation all by myself. not an easy decision since I am 76 and widowed. My husband was in the building trades before he died so I am accustomed to being around construction. however, if it were not for your videos I could not have done this. I have followed everything you said and used and my floor tile, and bath tub tile installations are awesome. thanks very much again for covering every little detail. Yes I did say I'm 76, and trust me I can't wait to get back to my quilting and knitting.
thanks again
Excellent tutorial!
Good thing I watched this before even thinking about doing tiles...thank you!
You’re by far the best shower builder I’ve seen on CZcams
This is what I am looking for. After many years this video is very helpful. Tks.
You should know, YOU ARE THE BEST. Thx for sharing!
THANKS!!!!! for taking the time to share these videos for us beginners, very appreciated.
How come no more tile videos? I think yours were the most thorough and comprehensive of all those i have watched. It's a pleasure watching a pro who cuts no corners to get the job done perfectly. Please re-consider doing some more.... you really are missed!
Great professional work!! Thanks again.
This is great! Why can't all contractors be as professional as you are? Thanks for these videos, they are extremely helpful!
So Glad I watched this first!
Very well explained.
Thanks for sharing your experience and wisdom. You've given me the confidence to do it myself.
Gratitude!!
You are a true craftsman. You consider everything up front to ensure a perfect job, I am a GC in north Jersey and would hire you in anytime.
Good video, explained very well for adding studs and blocks; however, you are incorrect on installing Hardie backing boards or cement boards. They do not rest on top of the tub edge but over lip and on the tub. This prevents a weak spot and does not allow water in the wall. Put it on the tub and use sealer to seal.
THESE VIDEOS ARE AWESOME! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THEM AND SHARING KNOWLEDGE SO THOROUGHLY!
Thanks! You are the Yoda of bathroom remodeling! Stolatz!
Absolutely the best video I've seen!, he really knows what he is doing and does a top quality job. It's hard to find someone who will go the extra mile to make sure it's done right.....I wish him all success as I know he will have it, he is a master at his trade.
Great, great job. Thank you! And thanks for talking us through it. YOU'RE HIRED!
First of all; Thank you! Thank you! A million times ThankYou! I’ve been preparing for a bathroom remodel and have found your detailed, informative, comprehensive videos invaluable. I must have gone through a thousand other sites and videos. There’s nothing out there that compares to your videos. Again, I’m sincerely grateful for all the work you’ve done for me and countless others.
Watching in 2022. Thank you for the detailed video, you helped me out immensely.
Remodeling my 3rd and final bathroom and I am back watching your videos as refresher courses and additional *excellent* trade information! Very much appreciated! I'm a perfectionist; hence your videos are right up my alley to ensure everything is done correctly! Over that past 8 years of remodeling my home, Lord knows I have uncovered some "WTFs"! Thanks again for taking the time to post your videos ...and you're also easy on the eyes! ha! ~ Tina
I'm a younger contractor, do more carpentry than anything, but I enjoy tile. Have been doing a bathroom for someone in my free time and you've provided me a lot of insight here for the material to use as your backer and the moisture at the bottom of the tile along the tub. I never considered the grout cracking and wicking up from under.
I left ~1/4" from the top surface and I think I will be running a bead of silicone underneath to help prevent this instead of tearing out what I've completed.
Michael all I can say is THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!!! I took on the challenge of remodeling our second bath by myself and your videos are sooooo thorough and totally AWESOME!!! I have done everything myself, (I am a 45 year old woman with 4 kids!!!!!) You have made it so easy for me. I won't even buy things that you don't use like red guard, etc. Even though I can purchase it at my local hardware store. I use everything you use and I must say it's coming our pretty darn good!!!! Thank you for making such great videos!! Keep up the GREAT work!!
+Vicki Burns Thank you, it means a lot to me ! Good luck

Thanks for providing these instructional videos. I completed my demo of my bathroom just yesterday with help from another one of your videos. Came out perfect and starting the prep work for the backer install after new tub is in. Thank you again
One thing you may wish to mention is that if one wants assists to get up from the tub or towel racks in the vicinity of the tub area, some backing would be adviseable. I noticed that you have not mentioned this, but you are very clear and meticulous, Thank you!
Your videos help a lot of people. Very much appreciated. You are competent, thorough and conscientious and save people much grief and trouble . Thank you.
Any contractor who says "okey dokey" is A++ with me. Although I'm around the corner from 70 my father used those phrases around any of the kids when we were young. Tilemaster is always aware of his business.
You are a great installer!
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your knowledge. I am going to attempt to tile around my tub and this is just the video I needed to get started. You explain everything so well!
Absolutely fantastic tutorial and advice! I'm currently doing a very similar project and this answered any doubts or confusion I had. Thank you!
Very well explained, great tips, expert work! Thank you!
you are just an amazing teacher( instructor).
Excellent videos, thanks for doing this.
Excellent video and very helpful. I noticed there was no tub protection, like a piece of plywood on the top and maybe the front, just in case a tool drops, screw falls and gets stepped on etc. Thanks for Posting !
Great job Tile master, you are conscientious, I wished my contractor did all this, I ended up removing his shoddy frame work and drywall, but you are the best I've seen, you're workmanship shows and makes sense when you're explaining it.
Thank you so much for showing how to do things properly!!! I don't want to have to re-do anything in a couple years, just because the time wasn't taken at the start of the project. And your English is great! Thanks again!
I'd like to say Thank you for this amazing video it has such great detail and i appreciate you for it.
I did a bathroom years ago watching your video. Here I am again about to do another one. Your vids are the best. Thanks.
While watching you install the blocking behind the tub edge, the first thing I thought about was a pocket screw jig. For somebody less skilled, it might make it easier to get the screws in without shifting the board.
Thanks you for your videos - I've learned a lot from you as I'm preparing for my own bathroom remodel.
I did that just yesterday...way easier.
Outstanding video...I wish I would have watched before I did mine. I overlapped my cement board and never thought about expansion and contraction once the tub heated up with hot water. I also wish I would have made sure all studs were even. It looks great but not sure if they were. The perimeter of the tub having the 2 x 4's at the lip is also a great idea. Makes a good place to screw in the cement board all the way around. Thanks, you are a true master craftsman who takes care of the fine details most never even think about.
Great how to video. I really learned some key techniques for my project. The "reason why or why not this way etc.." is so rare to these videos. For example, the reasoning as to why not installing the backer boards on the tub edge: why its important to notch the board for the tub attachment screws is all good stuff and keep rookies like me from doing a cruddy job. Many thanks!
Thank you! It will still take me a year to do this, but at least I'll get it right. Thanks again.
Thanks brother, you helped me a lot!!
You are EXCELLENT. Contractors should be required to watch your videos before being licensed.
Thanks. Your videos have helped me a lot as a home owner to do a quality job, not a contractor grade job. "Nicely" done!
You totally take pride in your work, I wish I could find someone in Houston.
You are my newest DIY hero ! Thanks for awesome videos !
You answered every question I had. Very good video.
Very informative. Thanks!
This is very helpful. thanks!
Love the extra details you provide - Thanks!
Very detailed, and easy to follow instructional video. Great job!
Good point about getting all the studs in line.
I really, really, really appreciate your videos sir. Thanks you for putting them together! Keep up the good work.
I totally agree with you on that stuff not being easy. Been tearing into my bathroom because the floor went bad. Got a floor in which wasn't a small job. 4' x 4' part of the room had to be gutted out and laid back down with supports running between all the studs. Now that's done I can finish my surround walls and tub to lay down some travertine
So helpful! We are doing this exact project. Wish you were in Texas. Thank you!!!
Great videos thank you. you know your trade well
Michael, very impressed by your video's. I've learned so much and your instructions are clear and detailed. Excellent, thank you so much.
Great videos and information! Can't Thank You enough!!
FINALLY, I've been looking for an explanation this good for a long time. All the other videos on showers are so generic.
Well done man. I like the way you build, looking at all angels, getting it right. I'm glad I found this video.
Thanks for your time and skill to produce this helpful video! You're very good at thinking "on the go."
I should have watched first and used the backing blocks at edge of my tub. Good idea!
thank you for sharing, very well done explaining
Really great job explaining everything i have learned sooooo much here. i'm planning on doing my kids bathroom in a couple of weeks. you showed me a lot of great tricks
Michael. I have never tiled a shower before but you have given me the hope to do it correctly. Thank you so much and will be donating to your paypal acct soon!!
nice vid as always..you do the job right unlike many guys out there, that want to be in and out..i hope the customer knows you take the extra time to do it right
Very good. I am learning so much. Thank you.
good job.
Just a tip from my G thanks Brother your actually help me focus thanks man
I have done a few tub installations and never put a stud support on top of the tub to prevent the grout cracking and I have never seen anyone doing it either. But I like the tip and will start doing it from now on. Thank you so much for the good tip.
benoit lambert I work for a contractor, we do these Alll The time and I've never used the stud either lol but hey, cant hurt right!
i was thinking how to fill a gap between shower tub and wall great thanks very helpful
Excellent video!!!
wow!, I like your technique for sure and will try it on my next install. I have been using hardie backer which is great but the denshield is probably a little softer and easier to fasten screws. keep up the great work :)
you are good looking man !
great video, i love it! Thanks a lot!
Thank you for your explicit steps to really do an excellent job. Don't know if I can afford your services but for sure it will last a lifetime. Don't let cheapskates like me stop you from doing an excellent job.
Peter Lindemann
P.S. Love your accent! Don't lose it!
Good stuff duder. Thanks a bunch! And nice hair cut!
starting off with everything square makes a big difference ,1... makes things alot easier to assemble 2 and finished project look much nicer ,no matter what your doing..............that i learned the hard way ......nice video Tmaster
Great job my friend! Extremely helpful. Don’t let any negative idiots prevent you from continuing the fine work that you do with these very thorough videos. Bien hecho amigo!
Thank you for all the little details your videos have helped me very much.O K . Dooky
my only complete is you don't live in my area so I could hire you. Thank you very much for uploading this video and sharing you wisdom with me
i have been putting backing ,( blocks) in for towel bars tubs shower pans toilet paper holder curtain rods upper and lower kitchen cabinets chair rails stair rails stair mop board back splash hose bibs porch lights and around windows and corners for siding.all these blocks are in the wall before i stand the walls , some of us do care
been doing this for 25 or 30 years,
This little czcams.com/users/postUgkxVoi3B4CB6Oygq1-vo4OTL1M_M5JkrXif tub works perfect in our 6 x 6 shower and is easy to get in and out. Also easy to drain.
Nice tile backer product has built in moisture barriers. Wonder board is a fiberglass cement board very good water resistant.
Concrete block is the best backer, but here in America most homes are not built that way. Nice work. I'm using DensShield for the first time. Always used Durrock with Laticrete vapor barrier.
Just starting this project. Please post part 2 ASAP. HAHAHA.
The board in the corner you added was not even. But everything else, awesome .
As a female, it was even more important for my DIY bathroom to be "perfect" 😂 🤣 Seriously though, after literally weeks of research on how to do everything (specifically how to install cement board around tub) I need to do, this video is by FAR the best step by step explanation!! There are several steps that you do that make SO MUCH sense, that 99% of other videos never even mention. Especially the tip about putting boards in between the studs around the top edge of the tub. The only problem I have with your video, is that I didn't see it weeks ago. This is a "one & done" tutorial! Very simple step by step instructions that are going to make my job SO MUCH easier! I can't thank you enough! God bless you!
More important than whom exactly?
dobra robota !!
This was great. Thanks you. I hope your business is doing well.
Thanks bro thanks alot

Good job and thanks
wow, your videos are great. Wish you operated down here in Miami...
Great video my man. Cheers from Atlanta
good work my friend
You have been so helpful to me in remodeling my bathroom. You have so much talent in teaching. I for one have tried and tried to learn a foreign language to no avail. You have done a WONDERFUL job learning English...it is not an easy one to learn I've been told. You are doing fantastic. Keep up the good work and I wish you many blessings.
loohoo4u Guy really is a born teacher. Too bad he can make more money in the trade than he can teaching anywhere, ever.
