I followed all your advice and recommendations on products with great success. Now I'm getting ready to do my daughters bathroom and taking in the videos for a review. Using a flex like that can really be a bad idea! If the tub is sating on the ground floor, it's not going to be censored. if and when it does leak, over time, can cause irreversible damage!

In the beginning you should have shown the old piping it for some reason you had done some pipe cutting ahead of time.

Aren't those pipe fittings used for sinks? I don't know if I trust it to use for my bathtub fitting...

You mentioned in your video that the polyethylene plastic liner behind the HardieBacker would promote mold. I have never seen mold grow on polyethylene plastic if you have sheetrock in contact with the plastic yes it will certainly grow on the sheetrock but in order for mold to grow you have to have moisture and you have to have food and there is no source of food on the polyethylene. As far hardibacker goes yes I have seen mold on that before but if you put the plastic up 3/4 away up the wall then you have room for moisture to escape. When all the other methods fail the polyethylene will stop water from contacting the wood studs

gotta say, "useless video". Ive installed a similar system and nowhere near the rat's nest of plumbing. The pressure balance loop ought to be clean and symmetrical (hence, the "balance") and where the hell are the shower heads?? Save the theatrics.

I did this today and it went just as you laid out. Mine is not as "perfect" as yours but it is certainly better than I could have ever done without you. The wet saw is the key I "bought" one at Harbor Freight for $69.00 plus a $25.00 diamond blade. Makes ALL the difference. Turns out that Harbor Freight will let me return it in good shape and only charge a "restocking fee" of 20%. That's like renting it for an indefinite period for $15.00! The blade takes all the wear and tear anyway!

I noticed in this video the thinset was a different color when you filled in the curb. Is there any reason why ?

No water proofing the cement boards with roll on membrane. No water proofing (tar paper and wire mesh) the floor plywood before thinset. This looks like some of the jobs I have to re do. Tile Master?
