- A video back on my home turf. The Union Pacific Brooklyn Subdivision
This video covers places on the line between Albany and Oakridge Oregon during Autumn colors. You'll see Union Pacific Manifest trains and Amtrak's Coast Starlight. There is a rare sighting of a Southern Pacific patched unit leading a train in this video.
These scenes were filmed with the professional DJI Inspire 2 drone.
Music is used from Soundstripe

great work Dan !!!!
When I told my wife it was your video she came right in and sat down. I guarantee she does not do that for other train videos. Thanks for your great work!
That's so great to hear Lloyd! That really has been a main objective of mine to be honest. Try to make nice videos that even people not interested in trains would think was pretty neat.
Beautiful work, Dan!
I watched your video when you added voice overs. So I watched this one and the music was fantastic. But your marriage of great music and the trains. Your videos are beautiful. What a great way to see the world. This one should have a small amount of voice over. Just like where these trains are located and what they’re carrying. I would love to see you do a video of the coal trains being loaded at the mine. I have watched everything that I can get my hands on. But I can’t find anything on loading the rains at the mine. But I keep going back to your videos. Keep up the good work. And please do some voice overs.
Thank you I'm so glad you enjoy! I don't live anywhere near where coal trains are loaded so that would be quite a trip for me to manage filming. I have seen a video of them being unloaded though which is a neat process where the whole cars are flipped upside down. If I continue voice over it will just be new videos. I would have to delete and reupload old videos with voice over added to make that work.
Another fantastic video Dan. Love these local videos you do. I live in Salem and am familiar with just about all of these places.
Oh cool! Yep it's both our home turf then.
The autumn colors are unbelievably beautiful here, just like the locations. I love the patched SP leader. It's great to see they are still working hard in their original colors. You are a true professional drone pilot Dan. Big budget Hollywood movies features this gorgeous aerial footage. You should be really proud of your videos. Thank you so much for your effort. I enjoy and appreciate your uploads. :)
Thanks a lot I really do appreciate that! I put so much effort into it all. Comments like yours help motivate me to keep posting so thank you for that!
Beautiful again.
I remember when there was a spur at Fall Creek Jct that went to a sawmill. It was also used for helpers. That was the original line before the dams were built.
Thank you for sharing.
SP lives!
Another great video from Dan
Thanks so very much
You're welcome. Thank you!
A Wonderful Video.. i like trains
Railfan Dan - showing everyone else how it's done!
I don't know about that but thanks!
Would've loved to be on that Amtrak train and see the scenery...I like that you posted the train speed, nice touch! Another fun video...Thank you!
Hey you really are going back and checking out some older stuff! Very cool! This section of railroad is pretty much my "backyard" living in Eugene OR.
What or who are doing the music? Other than editing everything you video in a day your post production is also very professional. Your choosing to use a drone is a huge difference in your work. You’re camera work is superior. I’ve watched a ton of train videos and you by far in my humble opinion just blow me away
I use the websites Soundstripe and Artlist for the music which I do add in the descriptions. I know most people don't read that though. Well thanks for your kind works I'm humbled you think so highly!
Another awesome video. The colour is spectacular!
Thanks!
Beautiful video hay Dan could you do the CN cheakamus canyon line?
Stellar!!! Video Dan.
That pink nosed & tailed Espee, sure shows its maturity! Still pulling the pack. Love it!
Does the drone have the capacity to put different lens on it. E.G. Fish eyed lens; special effect; night vision or others I might not know of?
Hope you had a good Christmas & Have a Happy and Safe New Year! Following those silver ribbons into the future!
Thanks a lot! I do know of one fish eye lens that works for the camera I use but I don't have it. No night vision though.
Great video Dan! The fall colors were beautiful! A patched Southern Pacific engine in 2020 is amazing to see. Thank you for sharing this video with us!
Thanks Thomas! Got lots more planned to come including quite a few old videos I never uploaded on here.
Well done! :)
Beautiful catches Dan! Especially enjoyed the SP leader!
I was pretty happy about that catch!
