- Presenting a feature film from railroad scenes of the year 2020. This is Rare & Scenic Trains in the Pacific Northwest! A compilation video of the best of the best that I captured in 2020.
Most of these scenes are also featured in other videos of mine from this year but there are a number of unpublished clips in here as well.

Very fortunate that locomotive still runs in revenue service.
Drone footage is so much better than the normal tripod at ground level watching a few loco's followed by 100 matching cars roll by. You get so much scenery and the entire train winding its way through curves which looks so cool. Great job!
Thanks a lot! I agree. It's much more dynamic to keep pace with the train rather than sitting in one location like a tripod.

This is the best video I have ever seen! Outstanding work!
So I initially searched “PNW trains” to see scenic views from those who travel by train in that area, because PNW is always stunning. Although not expected, I love this video much more, the smooth turns and zooms, the fact that I can see many more angles, & the descriptions of each setting is very much appreciated. Thanks for taking out the time for us average CZcams viewers lol, they’re beautiful and were better than expected. HAD to subscribe
Ha well how about that? That is pretty neat and I'm glad you took the time to comment about it! That video took quite a bit of my time as it's the longest one I've ever done but I do love living out here in the PNW and was compelled to put this video together after I spent so much of 2020 all over the place in Oregon and Washington. Wonderful trains and beautiful scenery! Some of the Union Pacific and BNSF trains looked like they stretcher along the tracks for miles as they wound around curves. Thank you for compiling this video and sharing it with us! The time and effort that it took you to put this together is greatly appreciated!
Thanks Thomas! They sure are long now a days. I have a lot more good stuff on the way. I'll actually be posting some older stuff here soon that has been overlooked and it's all pretty good. Not quite as smooth as how my videos have been for the last year because it was taken with a lesser drone but I think it's still worth posting.

One of my dreams has always been to do a cab ride over the Cascades /Stevens Pass from the Seattle /Everett area oast the gorge in Central Washington. Having done the drive iver Stevens Pass probably 100 times in my life plus putting power lines back up on the west side several times every year, often right next to the rails as they snake through the mountains I just know that the scenery would be amazing. Plus going through the 8ish mile long Cascade Tunnel would be awesome too. When I was in 1st grade the family took the Empire Builder to Minnesota and back one summer but I dont rememeber much and Im pretty sure that the eastbound train is going through the mountains well after it gets dark, but Im not sure about the eastbound.

Thanks Philip that's kind of you to say. I've been flying now for 6 years and have flown a number of drones now including the Mavic Pro, Phantom 4 Pro, and currently flying the Inspire 2 as well as the Air 2S as a secondary.

Next time U R near Providence hill and the horseshoe. Check out the view down the Columbia River from the Washington State maintenance sand pit.

The new year starts well with this beautiful compilation video. The locations are gorgeous, especially Pengra Pass. I think maintenance is very important there. If a train derails there, it's almost certain the crew dies in the fall. And the cleanup would be extremely difficult too. Congratulations and thank you for the entertainment Dan. :)
In the summer of 2019 tunnel 11 on Pengra Pass(in this video) completely collapsed inside and shut down the line for a month. This was indeed due to unchecked existing issues that they decided to try and fix when it was too late.
Very well done, makes me wanna take a road trip to all the beautiful places nearby! Love your music choices too! I can vision this on OPB someday, it’s plenty good enough 👍🏼

Absolutely EPIC Dan! The Willamette River bridge must by very old to have the lift span over an unnavigable sand bar! Hoping you will video Stampede - Cle Elum to Auburn (driving East to West is more scenic). Summer accessible by USFS roads most of the way....great views of Rainier coming down the west side of the pass.

How far away can you go with the drone , and how many minutes can you fly??
Farther than legally possible and I can get about 20 minutes or so on a battery.

Millions of dollars were spent to rebuild Coos Bay line; why in the hell are they doing 10 mph? I ran on that line when it was still Rail America and most of it was 25 except for some tunnels and bridges.
Yes they did indeed pump a bunch of money into it and still do but even so it's not in great condition for 25 I don't think. I also wonder if it's an insurance thing? Don't rates go up with higher speeds?
