You're right. It sounds like Green Day, which is something Green Day haven't managed for a while now so I think a lot of fans (myself included) are more than happy with this return to form.
I am a huge greenday fan, this song sounds like a mix of songs from American Idiot, the trilogy and 21st Century Breakdown, while it is a return to form as I expected they would go back to, it's missing something for me.
They managed it with Revolution Radio, that was a good album
Green Day actually did promote their touring guitarist to an offical member when they started recording the 2012 trilogy but before they started recording 2016's Revolution Radio he had a battle with cancer and has been a touring guitarist ever since.
Nice reaction. I like you guys so I'm subbing.
His voice is so iconic. And the calmer beatles section is soooo good for that song. Now please react to a few new blink songs from the new album. Its really old school and a mix of everything theyve done
this one got me excited for more from the album!
Whilst not my favourite green day track, i still enjoy it. The latest track Look Ma No Brains has me more excited
that's the best one, i like the uplifting part.
Look Ma was like a mature version of the Dookie/Insomniac sound with the lyrics very much in that Insomniac feel
This was really good!!! Really liking their sound, reminds me of some of their older stuff!! 🤘🤘🤘
They have always said Jason White is the unoffical 4th member of Green Day, he is actually in the video for Wake Me Up When September Ends
Absolutely stoked with this new track. Return to form.
Jason White is Green Day's second guitarist, at least when touring, I don't know if he's ever been involved in their writing process but he's been playing live with them for over 20 years. I believe he actually was in the video for 21 Guns.
First saw them live at Festival Hall. It was a crazy punk show. People stage diving off the balcony at the back of the venue! Then saw them at Etihad Stadium. Not the same. They did not have the sound for the bg stage. Seen them since at a Soundwave festival. They had their stadium rock shtick down pat then. Really good at it, but much preferred the sweaty punk show :D
Still Breathing and Revolution Radio were good songs from the last Green Day album
that was the album before the last lol... they have that many albums at this point its easy to confuse when the last was
@@MadgazGamingI had no idea they had another album lol
@@mikewilhelm984father of all.
Don’t worry, you’re not missing much
@@mikewilhelm984sad, i thought you were sarcastic because that album really freakin sucks 😂
I usually don't get into the comment section requesting songs, but y'all gotta react to "Thrown - on the verge", it's a banger
Already recorded, just waiting to release
@@nathandjohnny oh ok, no problem. I can't wait to watch it then. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Green Day is an interesting band, especially has it pertains to America and the "American Dream." I highly recommend Lindsay Ellis' essay about American protest music during the early 2000's for more on this topic, as it heavily features Green Day as one of the few bands openly opposing invasion into Iraq when other bands were cashing in on the patriotism: czcams.com/video/ehbgAGlrVKE/video.html
I think you'll find, Nathan, that plenty on the left here in the States are in full agreement with you with respect to guns, and what stops meaningful change from happening are systems built against our wishes and, as you said, a misguided understanding of what "freedom" means that's been passed down from generations of pro-America propaganda. As for this song, I'm with Johnny... it sounds like Green Day, lol. Between these guys and Anti-Flag, I get my fill of that mid-2000's punk sound pretty quickly. This was hella catchy!
As an American, I could not agree more with you!
Best thing about America is our freedom.
Worst thing about America is our freedom.
Sorry, but there’s no such thing as freedom. It makes zero sense and it doesn’t exist. Nobody else on earth acts like you guys. It’s embarrassing. Moving on…
@@thirty6twirls😂😂😂 And yet the whole world wishes it was us and people risk their life to come and live in this country illegally. Can’t fix stupid.
@@btgkg9639America advertises well.
It's basically 50 individual little countries that do their own thing (and it's only extremists that want the whole thing unified 🤷)
Because with freedom comes responsibility, and America lacks responsibility.
😎👍
So Jason White, the second guitarist, has been with Green Day since, I wanna say 1994, and during the trilogy era was an official part of the band but decided himself he would rather he a hired gun than part of the band
American Dream is that anyone no matter race or sex can achieve anything they want
Ill ask again, can you please do a reaction of cover girl by the ongoing concept please please please.
21st Century Breakdown was the last proper Green Day record. This single, and the premise of the new album Saviour, makes me think they're going back to that
The American Dream is dead.
Never got into Green Day and this seems more of the same.
The triple albums actually had a lot of awesome stuff on them and a lot of early punk sound. Not sure why people did not listen to them. It was b/c they turned their back on the whole crap rock opera of 21st C. I for one was glad they dropped that. I hope it is not back.
The last album was SHIT….
This sounds like Green Day
I have been a life long fan of them and this has me excited for more
The American Dream does not exist anymore, in this society it’s dead and anyone who says otherwise is just as jaded as politicians and the corrupt government we have had
The last 2 songs I heard from Green Day were Revolution Radio and Still Breathing.. that was 7 years ago and this track didn't really make me excited for more lol.
I agree with you guys on guns. I live in the states and It's a scary place we live in where people can just have them on their person.
Yeah I agree. Normal people shouldn’t be able to have assault rifles
This is an incredibly stupid comment.
Like Nath said, hasn't been a mass shooting in Australia since guns were outlawed.
@billybobthrockmorton You're right, just stabbings. But, they'll say "let's outlaw knives now, too, that'll fix everything 👍". Guns aren't the issue. The people using them are
I feel the same way about this song. It’s very….meh. I’m a big 90s early 2000s Green Day fan.
yep, sounds like every other green day song.
Then you haven't heard the last few albums...
With Johnny a bit here. I like it, but yeah, familiar. Don't love it.
IMO it sounds like a generic almost parody Green Day song. It’s not completely awful by any means but not something I’ll ever go back to
f Green Day do more blink
Green Day is 100x better than blink
