- Turning these huge Walnut slabs into a table top without a jointer was fun! I brought out my router to flatten the slabs with a sled. Watch along as build my desk bit by bit.

I have gained confidence that, power tools is a nice investment and few of them can enable you do high end jobs, big machines are costly, may take was, a router, plunge saw, domino and orbital sander ❤ , thank you.
tracksaw + domino is so overpowerd very good video thanks you watched start to end
Great video! Love the chamfer you put on the curve for your belly. Well done!
Ahh thanks! I am in love with that chamfer and curve combination 🤗🤗
Oh, that's an absolutely stunning desk top. I love the texture, color, and front curve you made.
Thanks Martin 🤗🤗 I think the front curve really made the top special and I almost didn't do it 😅
@@BauWoodworks How you said, the curve made it special, and It would be a real pity if you didn't do it.
🙌🤗
It’s a shame you don’t have a CNC router to achieve many of the steps you showed…😉
Great work though 🙂👍🏽
The shellac bar OMG!
Hehe yeah it's a pretty cool alternative to epoxy!
@@BauWoodworks Hi Bau, could you believe that this product does not seem to exist or are not available in Canada or the USA. I wonder why? Could you let me know how much a bar costs. Maybe a box of whatever amount of bar 24 or 48 costs$. We could make a bit of money. Let me know what you think!
Beautiful work Fabi.
Thanks Michael 🤗🤗
Wunderschöner Tisch schon jetzt 😍
Dankeschön! Es wird hoffentlich noch besser 😉👍
@@BauWoodworks das zweifle ich in keinster Weise an und denke es ebenfalls, dass noch besser wird! 🤘🏾
🙌🤗
Could you please make a video on mositure . And how many variations we should accept between the planks
Excelente, parabéns! 🇧🇷
Thanks!
its beautiful. in your experience, what feedback do you have about the blades that you use in your track saw. i saw some burn marks on the edges. how did you take them out.
Danke dir Doc Rumpel 🤗
🤗🤗
How much were the slabs?
Eine echt gute Stichsäge hast du da! 👍
Hat leider einen Wackelkontakt mittlerweile...
Where did you get the shellac bar?
Halleluja mit der Oberfräse 😳
Ja ein bisschen Ausdauer erfordert es schon. Aber machbar 👍💪
Hi, which brand router bit are you using? If is Festool are you happy with the quality?
Mega Ergebnis!
Cool! Instead of 'remembering' the depth and use that later for the next slabs you could have done all slabs 1 side first and then finally all of them with the same setting on the other side. that will also prevent you from having to do the first slab twice if the last slab turned out to have a very low point.
That would take forever, moving all the slabs around only after one pass, not practical.
Beautiful tabletop. Question: what finish did you use because it really brought the wood to life
Thanks Dutch Viking 🤗👍 (cool name btw)
I used Osmo Hard Wax Oil 3032 as I use for pretty much every project 😉 and yeah that grain pop 😍
@@BauWoodworks thank you for the reply.
I'm from Nederland and i love Scandinavia so my nickname originated from that.
Thank you for the information. It's much appreciated and keep on the good work
Haha great 🤗👍
Next try with no router
Why didn’t you use the cnc to flatten the slabs?
Just because I wanted to show a more approachable technique that more people can use too 😉
Sorry, I did not hear well the name of the product you used to fill the knot. Would really appreciate if you could reply which product this is please. Thank you so much!
Hey Paul,
It's shellac. You can get them in solid blocks or sticks in pretty much any color 👍
You can also buy the sticks and use them in a hot glue gun.
That sounds like a great idea! Do they fit with the diameter?
Nice table! Quick question though, wouldn’t it be easier to just hand plane the surface to make it flat than going through all the steps to make a jig and route it like there is no tomorrow?
Great video, thank you for the wonderful tips. However, I'd like to recommend that if you are working with walnut that you please wear a mask as the wood is poisonous.
Thanks for the reminder! You are absolutely right. I will wear that mask more responsibly in the future 👍
Thanks ✌️
Wood is poisonous? Bro, are you drunk?
@@TheJelac Yes, "bro" it can be. Look up toxic woods. See? You CAN answer your own questions if you just put your mind to it and not think you know everything already. It's called Google. Believe me, if I were drunk I wouldn't be watching CZcams vids on woodworking. Let me guess, you love Trump too.
what type of face mask is that?
It's the Sundström SR100 👍
