- Here's a recap of all the songs that competed for Bulgaria in Eurovision Song Contest from 2005 to 2022. Please, enjoy!
Bulgaria has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 14 times since making its debut at the 2005 contest in Kyiv. The country's best result is a second-place finish for Kristian Kostov and the song "Beautiful Mess" at the 2017 contest also in Kyiv.
Bulgaria has failed to qualify for the final in 9 out of 14 appearances at the contest, most narrowly in 2012, when Sofi Marinova lost out on the 10th qualifying place from the second semi-final in a tie-break with Norway. However, on three of the five occasions that they have reached the final, they have finished in the top five: placing fifth with Elitsa and Stoyan in 2007, fourth with Poli Genova in 2016 and second with Kristian Kostov in 2017. In Bulgaria's two most recent final appearances, supergroup Equinox placed 14th in 2018 and Victoria placed 11th in 2021.

Sadly today Victoria' s father from the picture in 2021 entry passed away. 🕊️ The song was for him, she surprised him with the picture. I'm sure that he is so proud of her. Bulgaria is proud also. Be brave Vicky! You are an amazing artist! ❤

In 2011 they robbed with Poli so much! Na inat was amazing! Also I really want to see them win the contest in the near future! One of my favourite countries in the contest, Bulgaria's glow up is real in the past years. I don't know what happened with them this year.

They broke up years ago. He is part of Intelligent music project now and she is solo artist. I think they are not in good relations now, because years ago she cheated on him. But we never know.

Politics choose the winner, not the public
After three years of absence, Bulgaria became a powerhourse country in Eurovision, but in 2022 they flopped, I hope this is not the beginning of an era of weak Bulgaria.
2022 just showed their thirst of winning. They tried to copy Maneskin by sending a similarly old-sounding rock song without thinking about it more
To be fear in 2022 everybody knew Ukraine is going to win, so most of our singers didn’t even bother
Bulgaria’s rebirth in 2016 and onwards is amazing.
2016-2021 was the golden age of Bulgaria
Bones from 2018 getting 14th is just not ok. They sound amazing together and imo the staging was perfect. One of my favorite Eurovision songs of all time and definitely my winner of their year. I’m still so upset they were only together for Eurovision and haven’t made anything since

Bulgaria 🇧🇬 2017 is my favourite Eurovision song since 2010 and probably ever. Just such a masterpiece in every way. But aside from that they have been good since 2016 (yes, even 2022). I love 2016 and 2020 too. But before their glow-up they were really hit or miss for me.
The country I wang to win so much! Bulgaria is my winner in 2017, my 2nd in 2016 and always in my top 10 during 2016-2021.

Try then bugarian folk songs, choir type are better but thats the inspiration. They already have fandom it seems.
2007 and 2017 certainly were 2 of the best Bulgarian entries. But I believe 2018 and 2008 were outstanding too. I got obsessed with Dj take me away, I consider is one of the best entries after the semis were invented. Such a shame it didn't get the appreciation it deserved.

In the 2000s, Bulgaria is so random somehow, pretty much something different or weird every year. 2007 is obviously the best. 2011-2013 deserve the final and 2012 was probably the closest nq song to reach the final. I'm glad that they sent really good songs from 2016-2021. But what tf happened in 2022? I hope Bulgaria has a better direction for the future and not something like Intention

My opinion on Bulgaria entries
2005- I like this. Calm and sweet entry, it's nice.
2006- not here tho. It's not bad at all but it doesn't compete enough with other entries that were better.
2007- my new winner for 2007. I can never get past an ethnic vibe.
2008- this is a major downgrade. Sure it was close to qualification, but it doesn't sound good at all in my opinion, a lot happening.
2009- worst Bulgarian entry. It's so crazy and all they do is shout.
2010- surely underrated. What a voice from Miro. Not amazing tho.
2011- Poli Genova's first entry. Amazing rock pop entry, I love every part of it. One of the biggest robberies in history.
2012- maybe this isn't as good but I love this one. Lyrics are amazing and she clearly had talent. One of the most famous Bulgarian singers
2013- maybe not as good as 2007 but nice nevertheless. Should've qualified.
2016- another winner entry. I used to prefer Russia but this was amazing. I hope she returns in 2023.
2017- I like it, but for me there were better songs. He clearly has talent tho, 2nd place at that age is amazing.
2018- this is clearly a very good entry. They sing so good together.
2020- ah yes Victoria. She is a good singer but I don't like these type of songs. This one is very nice tho.
2021- I prefer her entry in the previous year to be honest, this one is not as good. High expectations but okay result.
2022- robbed hehe. My 4th place this year. I don't know why I love it so much but it clearly is just another rock entry.
Overall: 8/10

Equinox's entry was very underrated, it easily deserved to be in the top 5. I'm from Bulgaria and am not really a fan of Zhana or anything, but that collaboration as a whole was so full of energy, it was a great project that deserved better recognition in my opinion.

Wow I'm surprised by how many people here hate their song this year. I thought it was a pretty good rock song but maybe needed a bit more oomph to qualify. I was surprised they were in third last place

Bulgaria acted smartly this year they knew that winner was already decided so they sended very bad song so that good entry wouldnt go in waste
Bulgaria was the first country to announce their representatives and it happened months before the war in Ukraine had started

It seems like the first contestant who promptly attempted to sing the song''Lorraine'' had actually impressed me with the catchable nostalgically melody but I thought mightfully the sound quality was too low which made them impossibly conveyed the message of the song to be more nearer for listeners

The most defeated country in Eurovision. Especially in the years 2008,2010,2011,2012! These songs deserved to be in the final. I’ve memorised almost all of it. Anyway, Bulgaria should win Eurovisionand we should watch it in Sofia. Conguratilations in advance from Turkey 🇹🇷🇧🇬❤️
